In the span of a few minutes, Bei Luo and Feng Yun arrived at the Black Death Palace. The area had remained virtually unchanged since the last time he had been there, and Feng Yun remembered everything about it clearly. The two figures landed on the ground softly and walked through the golden entrance. They approached the great gate, which did not hesitate to let them in.
Soon, they reached the throne room, where Dai Tian lay on the cushion, sleeping soundly. Feng Yun and Bei Luo walked over and knelt in a respectful position, all the while keeping their eyes on him. The snake did not even make a sound for an entire five minutes as it was still sleeping.
'This Master of mine, he really loves to sleep doesn't he?'
"Uncle Dai has slept for a couple thousand years straight. He's gotten used to the feeling." As if he could read Feng Yun's mind, Bei Luo replied.
Inwardly Feng Yun thought, 'A couple thousand years?! Who is crazy enough to use that much time just for sleeping? There must have been a reason'.
"Feng Yun, you've returned from the Violet Slaughter Valley? Welcome back." Rustling about, Dai Tian lifted his head up drowsily and looked at Feng Yun with kind eyes. At the same time, a curious glint drifted within them. He was anxious to know about his disciple's improvement.
"Master, I have completed the challenge that you assigned to me and have improved my strength greatly. Please verify!" Feng Yun smiled brilliantly and produced a large interspatial bag from his Void Universal Manual. The bag dropped to the floor from the ground and made a loud sound.
THUDDDD!
The impact of the bag hitting the floor was enough to make the pillars that held the palace together vibrate with enthusiasm. Bei Luo stared blankly for a moment before his mouth dropped down in expectancy. Dai Tian could tell already tell that his disciple had not disappointed him even before the bag had hit the floor.
"Good. I knew you would succeed. Now, let us see how much effort you truly put in." He used his abilities to sense the objects inside the bag and was able to instantly tell how many beast hearts were in it.
"100!"
"200!"
Bei Luo grew incomparably excited as the number rose higher and higher. Dai Tian nodded with approval and announced the next number.
"300! Feng Yun, congratulations, you have completed the challenge."
Now, at this point, Feng Yun had already completed the challenge. The two beasts stared at him with approval. Bei Luo had a look of joy and pride on his face. Dai Tian merely smiled. However, Feng Yun wasn't done yet.
"Master, it isn't over yet. Look inside, there are still more!" Dai Tian looked back to the bag and saw that he was indeed correct. There were still more beast hearts inside, and the number wasn't small. Dai Tian looked up with shock at Feng Yun and couldn't help but exclaim,
"You little devil! Just how many did you slay?!"
"Count and you'll know." Feng Yun smiled and allowed Dai Tian to inspect. The snake narrowed his eyes and announced the next numbers.
"320!"
"340!"
"360!"

...
"400!"
"420!"
Dai Tian and Bei Luo had their mouths agape with shock. The little one that was only a thirteen year old actually killed 420 beasts! This was absolutely phenomenal. When Bei Luo took the trial, he was lucky to even barely get to 300. But Feng Yun completely blew that number down. Furthermore, he did it in the span of only three months and with an inferior cultivation.
A freaking demon!
"Feng Yun...what the hell?" Dai Tian looked over at his disciple for an explanation and Feng Yun put on a casual smile, as if he had expected it all to happen.
"Master, I finished the trial around the beginning of the third month. After that, I sort of went on killing spree just to increase my killing intent." He scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed. "Plus, I thought that as your disciple, I should go above and beyond any task that you give me."
"Y-You...what level of power have you reached exactly?" Dai Tian was filled with questions and managed to stutter through his forked tongue.
"Xiantian Realm 6th Layer. I am pretty close to the peak of it though. I'll probably be able to break through the 7th Layer in a couple months if I don't focus primarily on cultivation. If I do, well then I may be able to go higher." Dai Tian nodded his head as he inspected his disciple's body.
"Extraordinary! You truly have gone above and beyond my expectations. I, Dai Tian am proud to be your teacher."
"Thank you Master, but it's not just my cultivation that's grown." As he said this, a boundless killing energy was released from his body that made the room's air seem much thinner. Even the walls seemed like they were going to cave in at any moment.
The pressure of the killing intent weighed down on the pair's bodies like a mountain. Dai Tian gritted his teeth in surprise and looked up to see a cold and detached expression on his disciple's face. He looked like a great demon, a wild blood-red killing light in his eyes and an unflinching gaze towards death and destruction. He was how he was before, Feng Yun. The true Feng Yun.
'Is this really him? I gave him that challenge to unlock his ruthlessness, but it was to this extent?! How can he have this much killing intent? He had to have killed many more beings that I have to pressure me this far!'
Dai Tian pondered in his heart about it while struggling to break free of the killing intent's pressure. With a burst of Killing Energy, he broke free of the restraints and panted slightly. He couldn't break free by himself. He had to use his own body's internal energy to do it. For a cultivator at the Tyrant Realm 9th Layer to have to do this to a Xiantian Realm cultivator was absolutely impossible. Yet Feng Yun had done it. Bei Luo had some issues standing up and used his own energy to break free as well. All of a sudden, Feng Yun calmed down and his detached look turned to that of slight worry.
[Just to clear up, killing intent is merely powerful pressure that is gained from killing loads of beings. Killing Energy is the energy used by Tyrant Realm cultivators in battle. That too is gained by killing beasts but true Killing Energy is only unlocked after breaking through to the Tyrant Realm.]
"Master, are you alright? I'm sorry, I used 100% of my killing intent because I thought that you could handle it easily. Have I been unfilial as a disciple?" Dai Tian hurriedly shook his head.

"You have not been unfilial. In fact, this makes your Master even more proud and delighted to teach you. But I'm curious, exactly how many beings have you killed exactly, to make your aura so powerful?" Feng Yun smiled wryly and didn't wished to answer, although the question wasn't one he couldn't avoid.
"Master, forgive me. Your disciple is very sorry, but I cannot divulge this. I promise Master that I will tell you one day when I have become powerful enough, but not right now. I apologize." Dai Tian shook his head and his eyes softened. He would respect his disciple's privacy, until he was ready to tell him about it.
"Very well. Anyways, the point remains that you have definitely gained my tutelage. I shall begin educating you tomorrow. You know the way to your room correct?"
"Yes Master."
"Then get some good rest. As I have told you before, my lessons are harsh."
Feng Yun bowed and went in the direction of the hall where his room was located. However, right before he entered through the hall the sound of his elder brother Bei Luo struggling about sounded out.
"Oi! Feng Yun! Help me out here! I can barely move around! Give me some help! Hey, don't just leave me here!" Bei Luo was still recovering from the effects of Feng Yun's killing intent. He had trouble walking around. Feng Yun scratched his head embarrassingly and helped Bei Luo to his own room, before heading to his own.
The next morning, the three were gathered together behind the door leading to one of the other rooms of the palace. The door looked the same as the others, golden borders, wooden frame, and a large height. However, at the peak of the door lay a small board with the characters that was read as...
'Body Strengthening Room'.
Feng Yun could automatically tell what today's training was all about however, he still felt very curious towards it. What methods would the room use to strengthen his body. As if reading his mind Dai Tian cleared his curiosity.
"As you can see, the room is meant to strengthen your physical body exponentially, in the shortest amount of time possible. The room is infused with my cultivation base and can automatically manifest obstacles depending on the guest's cultivation level.
Basically, it means that it will be able to challenge you no matter how high your cultivation soars, under the condition that it is less than my level of power." Dai Tian finished his explanation and looked over at Feng Yun, whose eyes lit up with excitement.
This kind of body strengthening method was truly more effective than merely doing exercises without a clear goal in mind.
When strengthening the body, it was important to always gauge your current level and permit exercises that slightly went over your physical strength, instead of high intensity strengthening techniques for a low level physique. This room was able to challenge the person in the room effectively by analyzing his/her strength and forming the perfect obstacle.
"The obstacles can range from mere cultivation pressure, to golems and training constructs, and even storms of weapons." Dai Tian continued. "Your healing ability in the room will be multiplied by a couple times more than normal after every challenge you face. This will help your body keep the process of reconstruction continuous until it reaches its limit.
The goal of this room is to push the limits of the body!"
Dai Tian then stood to the side of the door, beckoning Feng Yun to step through it. Without taking his eyes off the door, Feng Yun walked up to it and pushed the door open with both his hands. He was met with a normal looking room with a white wall and nothing else besides that. However, the room was extraordinarily large and was enough to fit an entire house in. Feng Yun wondered what could possibly need this large of a containment. As he inspected his surroundings, Dai Tian's voice sounded out.
"You have 8 hours to train in this room. You're not allowed to use any external artifacts or items to aid you. Otherwise, what would be the point of this exercise? Upon finishing the session, exit the room and find me once more. I'll assign you another task."
"Master. Why only 8 hours?" Feng Yun was looking forward to trying out
"Haaa," Dai Tian sighed. "8 hours is a defined limit for this room. I may have created it, but the room cannot break its rules. 8 hours and that's it. Then, it will forcefully eject you. Of course, if you can survive for 8 hours on your first try, then you must be a god!" With that, he left with Bei Luo and shut the door behind them.
Feng Yun scratched his head in wonder as he pondered his Master's words. Then, he turned his attention to the room, which had begun to vibrate with a great frequency. Power began to erupt from the sides of the walls, and an enormous pressure descended from the top. Feng Yun found his body suffocating violently and sweat formed on the sides of his jade-like face, and his complexion grew exceedingly pale.
"Holy crap, what kind of pressure is this?! Bloody crazy! Is this Master's true power?!" Feng Yun collapsed to his knees after the pressure grew too powerful. He had to exert all of his effort in order to keep himself conscious.
"Haha, this little snake seems to be playing around with you. The power of the aura is currently Tyrant Realm 1st Layer. It isn't something that is easy to defend against with your strength. However, he is correct. This method will provide you with innumerable benefits. A stronger body means being able to execute a much larger variety of martial arts and the power you display will be better controlled. Just bear with the pain, kid." Warden inputted his opinion via mental message and though he was tired, Feng Yun knew that he was right.
"God damn it, this little thing can't put me down. You want to push me down with this kind of strength? Fuck it, give me all you have got. I'll take it all! I'll take the entire goddamn world if I have to!!!" Feng Yun smiled viciously and his killing intent rose into the air, alleviating some of the stress that he was subject to. Although, he still sweated a lot and his bones hurt like hell.
Warden smiled to himself as he saw the courage and determination in his Young Master's eyes. He silently approved in his head and thought to himself,
"With this kind of determination and perseverance, when that demon wakes up, he may just have enough power to seal her." Warden solemnly looked in a certain direction, his eyes twitching when he thought about the horrors that arose when the martial demon went berserk in the Realm of Sovereigns.
Feng Yun continued to train as hard as he could, resisting the pressure with a will that seemed to be unbreakable. Dai Tian and Bei Luo could sense his resistance even from outside the room. Dai Tian smiled with satisfaction and strolled towards his throne room. Bei Luo walked behind him and curiously asked,
"How long do you think that Junior Apprentice Brother is going to last in there?"
Dai Tian paused his movements and thought about it for a bit. Then, with a straight face, he responded,
"At most four hours. If he can go beyond that, I would be shocked beyond belief. The pressure gets stronger and stronger the longer you stay in that room. According to his talent and strength growth, he would need a few months to perhaps a full year in order to stay in there for 8 hours. Even then, he will have enormous trouble." Normally, one would think that this was disappointing however Bei Luo's eyebrows instead raised to their highest point.
"Four hours?! I was only able to achieve two on my own my first time! My god, this Junior Apprentice Brother of mine will be terrifying when he grows up." Dai Tian merely smiled and didn't comment any further. Then, the two left Feng Yun to his hell-like training.

Note: The graphic isn't mine; it is a re-imagining of a few separate images, any objections by original artists let me know. N.B. If you are looking for Sexual Content every chapter, or every second, third or fourth chapter this isn't the story for you - the Sexual Content is required for a plot device, not a way of life and the later chapters reflect that - please stop dropping Low Ratings when you feel I haven't met your idea of "fan service". This is finished as much as a multi book vision can be finished. At 750,000 words give or take and very little readership I can only blame myself. I have learnt a lot, possibly forgotten a lot as well! I will probably return to the Chapters at some point - a touch up here and a touch up there. The second book though will probably remain in my head for a very long time, so yes "cliffs" although I hope the characters and their motivations are developed enough that you can have a good guess at the content of Book Two and tell me so I can confirm or deny! This isn't a LITRPG where classes are developed, great foes are defeated by a hero of immense power. This is a story based within (I hope) a very real and consistent culture, that leaves breadcrumbs for the reader to work out what the heck is happening and why. This is a slow burn story as the MC is stumbling around discovering her new place and role. Author's Note (Apr 2021): I dropped the Fantasy Genre for the Mystery Genre, because while the setting mentions magic, is it about past glories and trying to return to them. Whereas the MC from Chapter One doesn't understand her predicament and the range of mysteries she must solve to survive. If I have this wrong PM me and I will change this back.
