So, some of you users were kind enough to offer up your suggestions for alternate scenarios. I went over some of them and realized that you could be right. There was one that said that I could have made Feng Yun could have blamed it on the ape, but that wouldn't make sense. The Scarlet Phoenix didn't even know of the existence of Feng Yun's talent and cultivation. If Feng Yun suddenly said that the ape did it, wouldn't he be interrogated by the phoenix and questioned severely. It was better to just keep quiet. But then again, I think I focused a little too much on making Feng Yun's character noble that I forgot that Feng Yun just isn't noble. He is cold, calculating, a cunning bastard and is only kind towards those he cares about. On that point, I could have improved it. I focused a little too much on what others thought about him around him such as Xia Qing rather than he himself. That way, I could have avoided the use of plot armor.

Feng Yun looked on with an astonished gaze. That terrifying python beast had a thick relationship with the Great Devil Ape? He would never have known that there were so many powerful beasts residing in these mountains that didn't appear to be mapped. Furthermore, he had heard the ape say something about the Divine Beast Slayer. He had heard the term used by the Scarlet Phoenix when he was speaking to the python surnamed Dai.

"Devil Ape brother, what is this divine beast slayer term that is being used to describe your uncle?" Feng Yun inquired towards the ape. The ape blinked its eyes, then explained.

"My uncle, Dai Tian is the Divine Beast Slayer. As the term implies, he has slayed a powerful divine beast before. Because he was not a divine beast yet he was able to kill one, his name inspired fear into the hearts of every divine beast in the Immortal Fiendlands. It must be said that divine beasts rarely get killed. Very few Tyrant or Truth realm cultivators can actually kill one. Generally speaking, only divine beasts have the qualifications to fight each other, due to their respective divine abilities. However, although my uncle Dai was not a divine beast and was of common origin, he was still able to exterminate an entire clan!" Feng Yun gaped in shock. He never would have expected that the fame of the powerful python in front of him would actually be this great. He was filled with reverence toward the Three-Tailed Black Death Python. No wonder the Scarlet Phoenix was shaken out of its wits. He still had a question however.

"But since Dai Tian exterminated an entire divine beast clan, wouldn't the Omni Beast King become angry?" The Great Devil Ape stared at him blankly for a moment before laughing. Feng Yun felt embarrassed. Had he asked a stupid question?

"Haha, little brother it seems you don't understand the mindset of these Asuras. They hardly participate in worldly affairs and are completely focused on cultivation. Only if their family is placed in danger will they act personally. Otherwise, even if a prominent clan that was on close terms with an Asura was destroyed, the Asura would still not interfere. They are prideful fellows and they hardly ever take action." Feng Yun found himself nodding his head. Asuras were too arrogant to spend their time and effort on small people below them in terms of strength. They were lofty individuals with an incomparable status and power.

Noticing how Feng Yun had no questions, the Great Devil Ape turned his head back to the exchange that was currently happening. The Scarlet Phoenix and Dai Tian were just debating. The Scarlet Phoenix seemed to sweat every time it spoke, as if a single wrong word could spell its death.

"Honorable Divine Beast Slayer, please. It was merely a mistake on my part. I will leave this mountain and never come back again, only as long as that boy is the one to accompany me. I, Cheng Xu will honor my word!" Dai Tian merely snorted through its tiny nostril and flicked its fork shaped tongue out in a hiss.

"Why don't you quit kissing my ass and fight? I told you Cheng Xu, that boy is a friend of my nephew. You will not take him today nor will you ever!" The voice of the Three-Tailed Black Death Python reverberated throughout the mountain range. The mountains shook and rivers overflowed. It was clearly the overlord of these mountains and none could oppose its will. The Scarlet Phoenix's face turned ashen and it gritted its teeth. Then, it began to change into a different form. What as originally a red robed man turned into a bright red phoenix, flames blazing out of its skin. Its eyes were bloodshot currently and the feathers a bit ruffled. Anger and rage flashes through its eyes as it stared at its opponent with helplessness.

"Damn it Dai Tian! You have truly forced me to go all out. I tried reasoning with you but you actually instead tried to kill me. Does your hatred of divine beasts run so deep that you would even be willing to protect humans because of it?"

"Hmm, well pretty much. You wouldn't happen to forget what you divine beasts did to me and my family correct? Exterminating the Dark Winged Roc clan was inevitable. They angered me the most. It was just karma, Cheng Xu. You provoked me that time and thus I had to provoke you. However, the positions are reversed this time around. It is only you that cannot afford to provoke me!" A savage aura erupted from Dai Tian's body, oppressing the surrounding cultivators and the Scarlet Phoenix hunch its back.

"Hmph, only at the eighth level of the Truth realm. I reached the ninth level of the Tyrant realm long ago!" Then, the python moved. It was way too fast. It flew at Cheng Xu with an astonishing speed that was clearly superior to the former. Cheng Xu was surprised for a moment, then quickly resumed its cold gaze.

"Blazing Corrosion Typhoon!"

Cheng Xu flapped his wings at an abnormally fast pace. Fire crackled out of the wings and slowly swirled together to form thin beams of fire. The beams of fire exploded out with full power and a heat as scorching as the sun. The twin beams traveled at extremely fast speeds but Dai Tian didn't show any intention of avoiding the attack. Instead it flicked its tail and a barrier that was as black as death materialized on its body.

"Illusory Death Sealing Shield!"

The black shield seemed to roar with contempt at the incredible attack being thrown at it. The typhoon beams shot out did not even seem to faze it. Cheng Xu flashed a cold smile full of disdain.

"Even if you are the Divine Beast Slayer, I refuse to believe that you can block such a powerful attack infused with my full strength!"

The typhoon beams connected with the black shield and a pressure seemed to fall upon the latter. After a few seconds of endless contending, the fire showed signs of decline. The light dimmed and the fire lost its incredible power. Cheng Xu's cold smile turned to one of absolute fear.

"Impossible!"

"Your attack isn't bad, but in comparison to my Illusory Death Arts, it isn't worth a single fart!"

As soon as those words came out, the fire completely shattered in two, the fragments flying in different directions until the spark was extinguished. The black shield retracted bit by bit until the snake's full body was in view. On Dai Tian's face was a great contemptuous smile. There was not a single burn on its body and still looked as dark as it was before.

"Hmm, now that you have used your attack, it should be time for mine! Bei Luo, give me my spear!" Dai Tian shouted towards the Great Devil Ape on the ground. The Great Devil Ape stared blankly for a moment and then a beaming smile made its way on its face. It picked up the black spear, which was lodged in the ground beside it and raised it above its head. Then, with a great thrust, the spear sailed through the sky towards Dai Tian. Dai Tian closed his eyes and suddenly, the spear came to a stop right next to it, suspended in air. Dai Tian obviously had no hands so it instead controlled it with his mind.

"Hmph, I haven't tested out my strength with my spear in a long time. Today, you shall be the first in 2,000 years to die by this spear! Be honored, this is the same one that killed the Dark Winged Roc clan Patriarch!"

"Shit, if he truly is going to use the spear then I am doomed. I cannot stay here!" Cheng Xu thought grimly. "However, I cannot just leave without my wife's murderer! He needs to die right now. I cannot wait until he is grown up. By that time, I am sure he will already have gained the power to slay me!"

As Cheng Xu was conflicting with his thoughts, the black spear around Dai Tian began to emit a strange noise, like the sound of undulating waves. It was very loud and was enshrouded in a black deathly aura that reeked of killing intent.

"His killing intent truly is nothing like anything I have ever seen before. I wonder how many beings Dai Tian had slayed to generate this much killing intent?" Feng Yun whispered, clearly infatuated with the display of power. Bei Luo smiled and nodded his head.

"Uncle Dai has killed tons of people with this sword. After he slaughtered the Dark Winged Roc clan, he fled from the Immortal Fiendlands and went into secluded meditation. Until recently, he hasn't ever killed anyone. When he was still fighting in the past, he had slaughtered over 100,000 lives with his spear alone!" Feng Yun's mouth gaped. 100,000 beings killed! That was an incredible amount of deaths. This was enough to shake the entire continent. Just what was the limit of Dai Tian's power?

"Why was something like this never publicized? With Dai Tian's strength, he should have become one of the most respected figures in the whole continent. Why is it that I have never heard of his name before?"

"Well,there are two reasons. The first, you know that he went into secluded meditation for 2,000 years so he wasn't seen much. The second, the matter was kept secret to within the Immortal Fiendlands. No one but the divine beast clans knows about this matter."

"It shouldn't be possible to shut that many people up. Was there perhaps an extremely influential clan that organized this?"

"Your guess is spot on. There was indeed a clan that is so powerful that not even Uncle Dai takes them lightly. These guys are serious assholes. Well, whatever. You're not strong enough to know about them anyway." Bei Luo's face seemed slightly ugly as he talked about the clan. Feng Yun nodded and dropped the subject. Instead, he focused his attention once more on the battle before him.

The spear hovering next to Dai Tian continued to dispense killing intent. It seemed as if it was almost limitless. The killing intent was in its purest form and looked gaseous. The air reeked of blood and choked the cultivators below. The python let out a deep breath infused with a death like energy and the killing intent swarming around him began to move. The killing intent swirled together around the spear until it formed a thick and extremely dense ring around the spear tip. The spear began to twirl around in different angles, as if a hand was performing the action. Waves of extreme power flowed outwards each time a slash was performed. A delighted smile crept up onto Dai Tian's face.

"Hoho, so I do still have it. Maybe a bit rusty, but the spear techniques are still easy to use!" He had been testing his skill in the spear just before and realized that even after 2,000 years, he still had a great degree of skill with it.

"Now then, your death is at hand. If you have to say anything before you die, please do so."

"Last words huh? Let's see, I hate you, you're a son of a bitch and I will kill that boy no matter what you do." Cheng Xu said this with ferocity behind them. Dai Tian let out a sigh of disappointment.

"You know, last words are really precious. You should choose a less vulgar usage of language when you are about to die. Die with dignity will you?"

"Shut up and get on with your attack. I bet it won't be able to kill me anyway!"

"If you say so~~~" Dai Tian raised the spear upwards into the air above his head with his mind. The stance in which the spear was being held up was very similar to the stance that Bei Luo used. The difference was that this one was clearly several times stronger than Bei Luo's.

"Illusory Killing Spear Flashes!"

The spear shot out towards Cheng Xu, its tip gleaming with a black glow. The spear transformed into several mirages and surrounded Cheng Xu.

"Hmph, even if this one is stronger than the other one, it still won't be enough!" Cheng Xu unfurled his wings and two seals materialized onto them. They glowed brightly and a shield materialized to defend against the spear mirages. The shield was orange in color.

"Inferno Ultimate Defense!"

The fiery shield repelled the mirages with a similar powerful force. If it was another person besides Dai Tian, perhaps this shield could repel it completely without much effort. Unfortunately, his opponent was too powerful. The mirages collided with the shield whilst Cheng Xu was constantly pouring in all of his elemental energy. Cold sweat came down his face as he struggled with the mirages. His struggles seemed to make some progress as the mirages seemed to back out a little. When he saw this, Dai Tian raise his left eyebrow.

"Oh, not bad! However, you are on the verge of breaking down. It should be time to end this little play time."

Dai Tian's eyes flashed with a cold gleam and the pressure that the mirages ere applying increased ten fold. The spear tips embedded themselves in the shield and showed no signs of stopping. Cheng Xu found that he could no longer hold on. The shield shattered and in came the mirages. Cheng Xu panicked when seeing this and decided to activate his divine ability.

"Heaven Burning Flame Transformation!"

Cheng Xu's body increased its elemental energy storage by twice and his output of fire energy seemed to radiate even more. The scorching fire grew ever hotter and seemed to be out of control. The flames exploded outwards with a rage that seemed to defy heaven. He could think of nothing except killing the opponent in front of her. His divine ability, Heaven Burning Flame Transformation allowed him to transform his flames to have double the power and effectiveness. At the same time, he could increase his elemental energy storage exponentially. It was very effective and could determine win or loss in a battle.

The raging fires attacked Dai Tian with a great heaven scorching heat. Dai Tian snorted and snapped its head forward. Cheng Xu found himself slowing down and his elemental energy depleting at an extreme pace. He could not understand why. His elemental energy could not be depleting so quickly unless he had been injured with such a object. Then, he calmed down in the instant and surveyed his body. His face fell as he located a spear point that was lodged in the back of his wing. Cheng Xu realized that he needed to get the spear point out of his body or else he would be sure to die. He tried to shake the point off the wing but just as he was about to, a searing pain entered his body. Another spear point had entered his body, this time through his chest. It had just barely missed his heart but it had caused heavy injuries to materialize. He coughed up a mouthful of blood and descended from the skies.

"This bastard..not all of the spear flashes were dispelled by my divine ability! I can't beat him. At this rate, I really will die!" Cheng Xu was filled with despair. Everyone stared in shock as Cheng Xu had dropped from the skies and crashed into the ground with a loud sound. Feng Yun was filled with some excitement. He had personally witnessed first hand the power of Dai Tian. How could he not be amazed? Dai Tian too came down from the skies. He landed in front of Cheng Xu, a cold look filling his eyes. He was like a sovereign looking down upon the earth.

"Pretty soon you will die. I advise you choose a different set of words than what you said before. You actually thought you could fight me at your level? What arrogance! As long as I am here, you can't do anything in my mountains." He was filled with disdain for the divine beast before his eyes. Cheng Xu saw this and was silent for a moment, before laughing. He had already turned into a human and his hands were fidgeting, as if he was trying to grab something. Dai Tian didn't notice it. Neither did anyone else.

"Hahaha. Yes indeed, I cannot beat you. However, I certainly can kill that boy you are currently protecting!"

"How many times do I have to tell you? You can't lay a hair on this child. Besides, how can you when you are about to die." Cheng Xu, hearing this only smiled and said,

"Hmph, I too have life saving methods as well." He took out a talisman that was glowing with a bright jade like light. Dai Tian's face turned ugly.

"You bastard, the Patriarch of your clan gave you a Irreversible Talisman?"

"So you know what it is. Yes, I activated it a few minutes ago. You should know, once you activate it, your body will be transported to whatever place you imagine in your head. Furthermore, the process is irreversible once it happens and even if you were to try to kill me now, it wouldn't be possible!"

"Bastard, you won't be able to kill him anyways. Even if your Patriarch comes, he cannot necessarily defeat me. You won't be able to take revenge."

"Haha, he cannot stay with you forever you know. Eventually he will leave. Then, we will swoop in and torture him! Just wait brat! I will find you and kill you!" Then, Cheng Xu's body was enveloped in a greenish light and he disappeared without a trace. Dai Tian merely stood there, his long snake tail coiling up. Soon after, he slithered back to the astonished crowd. He did not pay attention to the other cultivators and instead strode up to Feng Yun and Bei Luo. He looked at Feng Yun for a long moment and noted his cultivation level. This kid has an extraordinary cultivation level. He seems quite interesting. After a long sigh he said,

"You two, come with me."
