《Overlord Spirit Martial Emperor》Which One Of You Killed My Wife?

Dong Fuzhen looked as if had lost all hope of coming out of the cave alive. Truth be told, Feng Yun currently had a very solemn expression on his face. He didn't have much odds of surviving this encounter as well. The monkey all the while was cackling with laughter, clearly amused at the turn of events.
"Holy crap, and here I thought humans were dumb. It appears they're even more dumber than I thought. They are also weak. Jeez, how did us magnificent beasts come to be hunted by these weak humans?" The monkey droned on and on and its arrogance seemed to soar to the heavens. Feng Yun sighed, exasperated by the behavior but inside, he was calculating all the methods of surviving this catastrophe.
Could he escape?
Completely impossible. Absolutely no chance at all. Even if he used his Falling Heavens Wings to blast a path out of the cave and try to escape, the monkey could clearly fly as well. He would only be inviting his own death if he did so. The monkey, although currently in a small form, was not to be underestimated. That was clear when the body of Qing Xin was posted on the ceiling, blood dripping out of his corpse.
Could he reason with the monkey?
Difficult, extremely difficult. It was unlikely that it would just let a specific person go. It needed to refine the blood of people it killed in order to stabilize its aura. If it didn't, its power would grow unstable and thus its future accomplishments would degrade. The monkey wouldn't let that happen over a group of humans. Feng Yun wracked his head for a way but he could not find one. If...If there was some sort of lucky encounter or person that could fight it, then Feng Yun and the others could use it to escape. However, what beast of such power would just willingly fight the Great Devil Ape? Feng Yun decided to go with the second option despite the low chance of success.
"Great Devil Ape, with your awe inspiring power is enough to topple mountains and even make the heavens jealous of your talent. Please, minor people like us are not even worth your great gaze. Ai, to consume us would be a stain on your hands!" The monkey turned its gaze sharply to Feng Yun and a faint smile appeared on its face.
"I AM awe inspiring aren't I? I induce fear into the hearts of whoever meets me. No living being under heaven can even look at me without paying respects! Even those divine beast bastards from the Immortal Fiendlands will eventually have to bow down to me!" The monkey droned on and on and a feeling of disgust replaced its smile when it spoke of the divine beasts. He seemed to have a large enmity with those people. Feng Yun's eyes turned cold as he realized his ploy may work. He continued his flattery.
"Indeed, you are completely correct. The divine beasts are just crap compared to me. However, as for letting you go...hm, that isn't really n option for you. You see, I desperately need your flesh and blood. I don't think a puny insect Xiantian realm cultivator like you can afford to make a bargain with me!" Feng Yun inwardly cursed. This monkey wasn't as dumb as he thought it was. He knew that upon reaching the higher realms, beasts could gain an intelligence almost on par with humans; he never thought it would be at the level where they could scheme as well!

"Mighty beast, I must implore you to let us go. There are many cultivators on this mountain who are traveling. Why must you take us? In fact, we are of a lower strength compared to the other groups on this mountain. Our flesh and blood lack the nutrients required to sate your endless hunger. Those other groups have more powerful cultivators and thus better effects on tempering your body. Rather than waste time on us, you should be heading over to them before they leave the mountain so that you can eat them. At this moment, they could be exiting right now. You may regret choosing to eat us instead of those travelers!" After hearing this, the monkey seemed to hesitate. Shock rained down upon it as it contemplated the meaning of Feng Yun's words. It extended its divine sense outwards toward the army waiting outside. Indeed, it thought. Most of the army consists of lower tier Xiantian realm cultivators.
"They definitely aren't enough to sate this great ape's huger for flesh and blood!"The monkey seemed to realize that it could be filled up eating these people. Instead, an evil smile broke out on its face.
"Child, you are completely correct. Your flesh and blood isn't enough to satisfy me." Feng Yun felt joy rising up in him. Is it possible, would they be spared? His thoughts were shattered in an instant.
"However, that doesn't mean I will just let you go. Your scheming is quite good. Only problem with it is...you didn't account for the fact that I love killing humans." The monkey's words brought a wave of despair to the remaining commanders. With a solemn expression on his face, Feng Yun prepared to unleash his Falling Heavens Wings at any moment. It seemed that talking had reached its limit. The monkey was going to kill them no matter what they said. Feng Yun exchanged glances with Dong Fuzhen and they both nodded their heads. They prepared to escape with all of their might.
"Now, the talk was interesting and all, but I am getting impatient. I need o kill some humans. So, won't you die for me?" The monkey smiled evilly and suddenly, a transformation began to occur. The monkey was growing larger and larger by the second, it muscles expanding and its facial features growing older. It height grew to at least five meters. It had black hairs that stretched outside of its body. It looked like a truly terrifying creature!
The monster stared down at the commanders with looks of disdain and a loftiness as if it was king of the world. Feng Yun did not hesitate to activate his wings regardless of whether people saw it or not. He didn't have time to worry about anything else. He needed to grab Xia Qing and escape this place! The azure gold wings flashed outside of his back and expanded themselves before the audience. Then, with a great speed, he activated his ability.
"Five Azure Pillar Strike!" The beams of azure light emerged from the wings and burst outwards toward the monkey. The Great Devil Ape raised it eyebrows in surprise and lifted up its palms to block the attack. The Five Azure Pillar Strike was indeed powerful, but how could it possibly match up to a Tyrant realm cultivator. The palm completely obliterated the pillars of light into pieces. Feng Yun had used the opportunity to escape at the top of his speed. The monster looked on thoughtfully for a moment.

"So this kid possesses a Soul Bone Artifact! This is quite a gain! If I steal that artifact and refine it, then I may be able to make my strength jump further." The monster was infatuated with the wings and chased after Feng Yun. He had completely forgotten about Dong Fuzhen and the other commanders who were still alive.
"Not good, its chasing Qiu Yun out of the cave. That is exactly where the army is. If the army encounters this beast, they will be massacred for sure." Dong Fuzhen had a pale face filled with exhaustion. He worried for his army and Feng Yun, the one being chased down by the beast.
Feng Yun as having a hard time evading the Great Devil Ape's pursuit. It possessed a great speed that could not be matched with ordinary means. This was true since it was of the Tyrant realm. The gap continued to close in further as the ape flew towards him.
"Crap" Feng Yun whispered. The ape was way too fast. It was a whole realm higher than Feng Yun. How could it not?
As Feng Yun flew at maximum speed, he neared the exit of the cave. A bright light welcomed him as he exited the cave. The first thing that met his eyes was the army of fifty men waiting right outside for him. Feng Yun's face turned pale and he was horrified. If the ape met them, a massacre would begin! They had all been waiting on the commanders to come out and had eyes trained on the entrance. When they saw Feng Yun exit the cave, they had been ecstatic. They all prepared to welcome him back but Feng Yun cut them off.
"GET OUT! GET OUT NOW! A TYRANT REALM BEAST IS COMING!" The words reverberated through the crowd and it took a few moments to process what exactly he said. Realization dawned upon them as they understood the implications if what he said. As soon as they were about to run, a loud voice came.
"HAHA, you think you can run! You will all die today! Don't even think about living through the next hour!" The cultivators all shook upon hearing these words and saw the great ape emerging from the cave. Their first thought was to run, and they did. Xia Qing was among the crowd and saw the ape. Shock flashed across her eyes as she stared at the beast. She had no idea that such a thing would happen. Feng Yun spotted her from the skies and swooped down to pick her up and leave. Unfortunately, the ape was faster.
The Great Devil Ape swatted its hands across the air and a violent gust of winds cut at Feng Yun. The winds assaulted him with an extreme ferocity that could not be matched. Feng Yun was thrown back several meters with heavy injuries. He coughed out a mouthful of blood. He had suffered internal injuries during the exchange and was not in good shape. His speed was much less than what it was before. Feng Yun tried to sand up but an unseen pressure pressed down upon him, binding him in place. The ape walked over calmly and stared down at Feng Yun. Feng Yun shot a glance towards Xia Qing, who as still suspended with shock, to tell her to escape right this instant. She looked hesitant and shook her head slightly. Just then, the ape cackled loudly.
"What an extraordinary fellow! You must have had a lot of karmic luck to escape from my clutches for this long. You also have a lot of talent too, to be able to reach the fourth layer of the Xiantian realm at about thirteen years old! Alas, you must die today to satisfy this one's great hunger!" The ape's palm raised itself upwards and prepared to strike down and deliver the finishing blow. Feng Yun gritted his teeth with anger. He couldn't die here. He still hadn't accomplished his goals, kept his promise with Yama, and lived life to the fullest yet. He could not resign himself to death. Feng Yun let out a roar at the ape and glared defiantly at the beast.
"Hoh, such determination and fury! DIE!" The palm strike felt slow to Feng Yun. In reality it was fast but to Feng Yun, whose life was about to end, it was extraordinarily slow. Images flashed across his mind as he remembered the last thirteen years of his life as well as the other twenty seven years of his previous life. He waited for the strike to tear though his body. Strangely, the excruciating pain never came. He opened his eyes in confusion and gazed at the ape. The ape looked to be terrified and seemed to not pay attention to Feng Yun. The ape was looking out at beyond the mountain. Feng Yun followed his gaze and there, was an extremely large bird, much larger than the Great Devil Ape. It flew at paces that could not be kept up with. Even Feng Yun could not see it properly. The bird had red feathers all over its body and radiated fury. It emitted an aura of fire as if the world would burn from its gaze. Its eyes were sharp and terrifying. Feng Yun and the ape gaped at the sight. The ape even spoke.
"Wait...no...that is....but, why the hell is that damn divine beast here? It wouldn't come out of its home in the Immortal Fiendlands unless something happened! But...why is it coming here? As I recall, the Scarlet Phoenix never had any enmity with our mountain range. Uncle never mentioned any enmity." The ape was mumbling to itself but Feng Yun could hear clearly. A divine beast? Scarlet Phoenix? For some reason, Feng Yun received a bad feeling from the approaching beast.
The Great Devil Ape walked forward, seeming to forget about Feng Yun. It stared intensely at the divine beast that was flying straight towards them. The red phoenix glared intensely at the ape and flew faster. Soon, in a matter of seconds, it was at the location of the mountains. The phoenix descended onto the ground and turned into a middle aged handsome male. It surveyed the battleground and its gaze briefly rested onto Feng Yun before turning back to the ape. The Great Devil Ape seemed to be angry as an unsightly look appeared on its face.
"Why have you come, Scarlet Phoenix? This is not your territory! My uncle controls this area. I believe that you cannot step onto this mountain without his permission!" The Scarlet Phoenix seemed to ignore the question as it looked through the vast crowd of cultivators, looking intently at the bird. The man narrowed his eyes and a cold look appeared on his face. In a very firm voice that radiated fury he said,
"WHICH ONE OF YOU KILLED MY WIFE?"

8 85Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
