《Overlord Spirit Martial Emperor》Green Fanged Eagle

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting wasn't a problem for Feng Yun. He continued to bitterly cultivate for a few hours while occasionally glancing at the eggs. However, he wasn't admiring them. He was thinking of how to cook them right for dinner.
"Hmm, its already been a few hours since I got here. That Green Fanged Eagle should be here soon. Once she sees me, she'll definitely try to kill me with all her might. I must welcome her with open arms." Feng Yun smiled cruelly. The Green Fanged Eagle had the cultivation of the sixth layer of the Xiantian Realm. Her strength was extremely terrifying and not to be taken lightly. Even Feng Yun couldn't be sure of defeating one. But it was precisely because of this uncertainty that he was willing to fight the eagle. On the road of cultivation, it is impossible for one to advance forward without taking risks. Fighting with this eagle could improve his combat abilities as well as let him go all out. Only by undergoing battles with your life on the line would your battle sense become fiercer, your mind more sharper.
Feng Yun honestly looked forward to it. Aside from that, he was also interested in the Green Fanged Eagle's blood. Green Fanged Eagles were rare beasts and were hardly found at places. This was because hundreds of years earlier, once their blood's use was found out, they were hunted down by cultivators until their population dwindled down significantly. To happen to chance upon one here was a stroke of good fortune. A Green Fanged Eagle's blood, having the properties to advance one's cultivation by an whole layer by itself, would be crucial to Feng Yun when he broke through the fourth layer of the Xiantian Realm. It also might be helpful to Xia Qing, who seemed to be struggling slightly with breaking through to the third layer of the Xiantian Realm. The blood also ha the ability to temper one's body and stabilize their body's power upon breaking through immediately. At the same time it did this, the muscles in the body would break down continuously and build itself up again, making it much stronger than the previous state of the body's muscles. From these various benefits, one could clearly see that the Green Fanged Eagle's blood was indeed useful and it was of little wonder that cultivators from around the continent would hunt them down close to extinction.
For Feng Yun, drinking the blood of the Green Fanged Eagle was a necessity to advance his cultivation faster. If he advanced to the fourth layer, then he would have a qualitative leap in strength. But hunting Green Fanged Eagles was truly not easy. They were extremely elusive and possessed high agility. They had the ability to fly and could thus escape if their lives were in danger. This part was not too much of a problem as Feng Yun himself had the soul bone artifact, the Falling Heavens Wings which could help him fly. But the usage of this was limited and thus he had to keep the eagle on the ground for as long as he can. The eagle also possessed astonishing offensive power and its feathers were practically almost as hard as steel. Its defense was hard to crack as well. But despite this, Feng Yun knew that killing the eagle could be done.
He had just sat there waiting, resolutely prepared for the eagle's coming. Soon enough, his waiting ended as he heard a cry that sounded through the skies. It seemed to cause vibrations in the forest below and most of the beasts that used to have hideous expressions now turned terrified. It seems that they had acknowledged this legendary bird of the skies as their sovereign. They would all bow their heads and not dare to keep an arrogant complexion when this lustrous and almost divine creature appeared, carrying with it the weight of the skies. A flash of green cut apart the clouds that surrounded it, revealing a terrifying presence to those that noticed it. Feng Yun himself had completely opened his eyes and exited his cultivation after hearing this cry. He smiled coldly and leaped to his feet.

The eagle's speed was truly too terrifying. The cry had appeared loud from over a few miles away but this eagle had crossed the distance connecting her to her nest in about a few seconds. The eagle stopped only when it neared its nest. As it slowed down, Feng Yun was able to make out its features. Monstrously huge, green feathers with tinges of purple surrounded it and piercingly cold eyes invaded the atmosphere, making it seem like a divine deity was looking down upon the insignificant populace. It looked powerful...incredibly powerful. Feng Yun was excited and even began to leak out some killing intent, which was very quickly noticed by him and recalled back. He didn't need to mask it much however, as the eagle had already noticed that a tiny presence was lingering around its nest. Anger flashed through its eyes as it realized that the intruder might be in possession of her eggs. She wondered exactly who would dare to be so audacious that they would risk offending her, the queen of the forest? In her huge beak hung the carcass of a large saber toothed tiger. Only, this monstrous beast was incredibly large with a pressure emitting Yuan Energy even in death. Blood leaked out of a large incision made on the tiger by the eagle's beak. The tiger was most likely the food planned for the eggs, which were close to hatching. Feng Yun noticed this large tiger even when it was currently in the air and secretly lamented, this eagle truly is formidable. It actually managed to subdue a tiger of that size. Furthermore, the aura it leaks out even in death appears to be almost on the same level of the Green Fanged Eagle. He didn't have time to think about it anymore as he noticed the Green Fanged Eagle swoop down to drop onto her nest.
Feng Yun didn't hesitate and immediately pulled out his Overlord Heaven Piercer katana as well as integrating his Dragon spirit. This Green Fanged Eagle was much more formidable of an opponent than Zhou Yanling despite their cultivation levels being similar. The Green Fanged Eagle possesses much more combat experience and ferocity. It was far superior to Zhou Yanling. Therefore, Feng Yun didn't dare to be careless. He immediately brought out all his spirits with the exception of the Void Universal Manual, which possessed no combat abilities except for the trapping of souls. However, that could only be used when the body was dead. The eagle arrived with astonishing speed and at the base of the nest. Its eyes swerved towards the nest of the eggs, making sure they were there. Her eyes showed relief upon seeing their familiar green eggshells but turned vigilant in an instant when she noticed a different presence inside her nest. She let out a sharp cry, bellowing with all of her might. The cry seemed to express, Get out of my nest or I will slaughter you! Feng Yun seemed to notice this and exploded out of the nest with a burst of Yuan Energy. He let out a cold smile when seeing the Green Fanged Eagle, who appeared to be very shocked that it was a human that had dared to intrude on her nesting grounds. She let out a scream of indignation and fury. Feng Yun narrowed his eyes and said,
"Since you want to die this badly, this one shall grant you your wish! I'll be honest with you, I wish to kill you and take your special body, but I shall do so honorably. So, let us begin." He then leaped off the ground, with all of his power erupting forth like a surging volcano. The Green Scaled Eagle seemed to understand the intention of the boy with her Xiantian level intelligence and her eyes flashed with cold light. She would not go down today without a fight. Even though she could tell that the boy in front of her was indeed extraordinary, she had a lot of confidence in herself and had no doubt that she could kill a boy only twelve years old! The eagle reacted with an even faster speed than Feng Yun himself. Her long beak thrusted towards him with a startling power and Feng Yun found himself only able to dodge in time before some of his chest clothing got snagged by the beak. Looking with astonishment at the eagle, Feng Yun's gaze sharpened quickly. The eagle swiped its beak to the right to knock the clothing away. It looked with disdain at the young boy facing her. Never had she been treated with this much disrespect before! All of the animals in the forest bowed down to her but this boy here was so arrogant, coming into her nest and thinking he can do whatever he wants!

Feng Yun didn't mind the slight gash that the eagle made on his chest. The wound was merely superficial and could not cause much pain anyways. He instead chose to activate his martial arts to the max power. Lightning elemental Yuan Energy could be seen tracing along the finger tips of Feng Yun's left palm, which wasn't holding the Overlord Heaven Piercer katana. The Green Fanged Eagle seemed to raise its eyebrows, aware of the power that fist could contain. But it still didn't shy away and chose to block the incoming strike. Feng Yun's foot movements shifted as he ran and twisted towards the eagle, which viewed all the moves occurring in front of her with careful deciphering. As soon as he got close to the eagle, he leaped up and appeared to be prepared to throw the fist at the eagle's forehead. The wild bird in return flapped her wings forward and an incredible burst of energy invaded the atmosphere striking against Feng Yun's attack, attempting to counter it. Feng Yun coldly smiled and then activated his Wind Transferrer spirit ability. The Green Fanged Eagle realized something was wrong when she noticed that the boy she was fighting was no longer in front of her. Could he have possibly run away? As if he read her thoughts Feng Yun's voice sounded from above,
"Hmph, I would never escape a confrontation! Raiding Thunder Palm!" The fist from Feng Yun slammed down from the air aimed directly at the eagle's cranium. The eagle, with its extremely astute senses noticed this at the perfect timing and gathered its wings up to block it. It had incorporated Yuan Energy into its wings when it blocked the oncoming attack for extra defense. Feng Yun found that his attack felt like it had hit a rock wall.
"Tch" Feng Yun retreated several steps in the air using the Cloudscale Sect evasion arts. He was evidently a bit upset that his attack did not land but at the same time, he could not help but praise the bird for its reaction time. The eagle however had a grave expression, as if it had finally met its match and decided to take its opponent seriously. The fact that Feng Yun even had an opportunity to strike, made her deeply disturbed. This boy's strength isn't small, but let us see if he can last against my true power!
The Green Fanged Eagle flapped its wings heavily, creating gusts infused with Yuan Energy at an extremely fast rate. Feng Yun found himself being pushed back by the immense pressure that the winds carried. The Green Fanged Eagle increased the pressure of the winds and very soon, cuts began to appear on Feng Yun's wrists which were blocking the brunt of the move. The attack was like a swirling vortex that would tear apart any who remained near. Many of the distant trees were cut down in an instant. The power that the eagle had displayed was truly terrifying. Feng Yun's face became serious and gazed at the cuts on his arm for a moment before proceeding to meet the eagle.
"Haha, you are indeed quite strong. I like that! I made a good choice in attempting to fight you! Come now!" Feng Yun said. The eagle snorted in disdain from hearing this comment and pushed forward with all its might. It's agility was extremely fast and it appeared before Feng Yun in merely seconds. The latter had expected his however and had drew his incredibly strong katana to slice at the attack that was being directed at him. The eagle's talons were stronger than steel knives and created large sparks that flew everywhere when it clashed with Feng Yun's sword. Of course, the Overlord Heaven Piercer was not that weak and Feng Yun activated Sword Blood Gravity. The blood from his cuts, although small, gathered together to form a gravitational field which oppressed upon the eagle. She was shocked from the amount of pressure that was being unloaded onto her body. Even though her body was supposedly as strong as steel, even she could not withstand that strong of an assault. Her spine bent forward and she let out a slight groaning sound. Feng Yun knew it wouldn't last for long considering the eagle's strength. He slashed his sword at the eagle with a great elegance and beauty that could not be matched. The sword lashed out with such speed that the Green Fanged Eagle could not avoid it.
CLANG!!!
The sword clashed against the steel like skin of the eagle. Feng Yun secretly exclaimed in astonishment that the feathers on the eagle were really too strong. But, he resolved himself and pushed his sword to strike further. The eagle let out a loud cry as it felt its skin begin to cave in from the pressure that the sword was giving.
"Haaa!!!" Feng Yun let out a shout as he sliced through the tough skin on the eagle. Fresh blood poured out from the clean incision made on the eagle. At the same time, the eagle regained its ability to resist as the Sword Blood Gravity dissipated from the air. The eagle shouted furiously and launched a powerful slash with its talons. Feng Yun saw it coming and attempted to block it with the back of his sword, but he had underestimated the power that the eagle put into its talon strike. It could be said that the eagle was completely enraged and would not spare any ounce of effort to kill Feng Yun. The talon strike shot straight at the sword and an explosion of Yuan Energy triggered, making him fly back more than ten meters while crashing into many boulders in the same process. He eventually stopped crashing and landed in a boulder's center. He spit out a mouthful of blood and struggled to stand up. He could tell that he was suffering from internal injuries and if they weren't treated quickly, it could result in death.
Feng Yun grimaced from the pain. This eagle truly possessed indomitable offensive power! He found himself unable to take one of the attacks at her full strength. He truly needed to go all out. As he was thinking about this, the Green Fanged Eagle had caught up to him and descended on Feng Yun's position. It's expression was still full of rage and indignation as well as the burning desire to kill the boy in front of her. It raised its claw to attack the severely injured Feng Yun. The latter only looked up with an expression of arrogance and his eyes seemed to glow with excitement.
"Hmph, I would love to fight with you for more time but unfortunately, I have a time limit. Plus, I have to stabilize this son of a bitch." As he said this, the aura around Feng Yun began to turn black. A terrifying presence replaced the original seemingly weak aura and the blackness surrounded his whole body. The Green Fanged Eagle found herself being chilled to the bone. Was this truly the power of a young twelve year old? Feng Yun spoke once more with arrogance in his voice,
"Now...let us see who comes on top!"

8 101In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.

Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts.
