《Overlord Spirit Martial Emperor》Xia Qing's Vision

Feng Yun had taken on a new level of understanding after having fused with the Void element. The world seemed to be much clearer and he could perceive things at a higher level than a normal cultivator. Even cultivators at the Truth Realm, which were incredibly sensitive to changes in the earth, had a inferiority sense to Feng Yun, who had comprehended one of the elements of true creation. If Feng Yun were to find the rest of the elements, then he would have an almost earth-shattering level of power even if his cultivation was a bit lower than most. By fusing the Void element with his attacks, he would be able to handle opponents at a cultivation three levels or even four levels than him without losing to them in the slightest! He wouldn't be able to kill them but they wouldn't be able to do anything to him without using a lot of effort either. Of course, he still didn't have much control over this element due to his unfamiliarity with it, but as he used it more and gathered experience with it, he would be able to utilize it to its full extent.

Feng Yun gazed at his palms with a feeling of excitement. He had gained a new power and element. His power would rise exponentially now due to this. A black misty aura surrounded his fingertips and revolved around his hands. The aura seemed to devour everything but with Feng Yun's possession of the element, he willed it to stabilize at its current level. The Void Element could be considered to be a very hard to control type of power. He would have to spend a lot of time and upgrade his cultivation in order to truly use it to the best f its abilities. He thought back to the scene of the battle. That man had used the Void element to devour the army consisting of hundreds of thousands extremely easily. To be able to exercise the element to this level, one had to have an extremely profound level of cultivation and experience with the element. Feng Yun wondered just what level that man had reached. If he reached that level as well, would he be able to do the things that the man did as well? As these thoughts passed by however, a voice appeared in his head.

"I see that you've found the first of the four main creation elements." The voice was firm but seemed very lazy as well. This was naturally Warden, who had decided to speak after having not spoken to Feng Yun after a long period of time. He had only come out after sensing the powerful change in Feng Yun's body. Feng Yun was surprised but after a second, sent a mental message back.

"Indeed! This element is so profound. I never would have thought that it could produce such destructive capabilities. If I study the Void Element more, then I should be able to utilize its capabilities to a very high level. Oh, by the way Warden, when I was absorbing the essence of the Void element, I saw a vision."

"Oh, what kind of vision?" Warden let out a yawn seemingly disinterested. Feng Yun felt helpless. He couldn't do anything to make Warden change his attitude. He continued,

"Hmm...well in it, there was a man with long black hair. He was engaged in battle with an army. The army had an uncountable number of soldiers, all at an extremely high level of cultivation in my opinion. There was a golden armored man leading the army. A whole army against one man. At first, I thought that the man would surely die but then, he used the Void element. Upon using it, it was a wanton slaughter. The soldiers were completely destroyed as well as their commander. I would like to know, who was that man?"Feng Yun summarized the battle scene for Warden. He waited expecting a reply. However, Warden was silent for a moment. Feng Yun was curious. Why had Warden gone silent after having heard his story. As he was about to ask, Warden's reply came.

"Boy...did this man happen to use a large devouring wave of black aura to decimate the army of 800,000 men?" Warden's voice seemed a bit shaky. He was clearly filled with shock despite Feng Yun being unable to see him at the moment.

"Yes...but how do you know it was 800,000? And how do you know the technique that the man used?" Feng Yun got suspicious. Warden probably knew who the man was.

"Ahh...it must be...THAT man. To be able to decimate that entire army with the Void element alone, and in one strike, there's no one else that could do it." Warden seemed terrified. Feng Yun was curious as to the identity of "THAT man". He asked the Warden but his reply was quite mysterious.

"That man...is at a level of cultivation that even my master is respectful towards. Enough, we shall not speak of him again." The Warden then went silent and did not answer to any of Feng Yun's questions afterwards. Feng Yun sighed to himself. Warden truly was secretive. It was likely that his words were being guarded by this "Master" of his. Feng Yun really wanted to punch this "Master" in the face. Who was he to block his exposure to knowledge!

Feng Yun calmed down after fuming for a bit and took a look at his soul. His soul had transformed a bit after having absorbed the essence of the Void element. It now had a black aura around it and appeared incredibly domineering. The strength of his soul had multiplied by quite a bit thanks to this enlightenment. One must know that the soul was extremely important for cultivation. It was essential for breaking into realms which were very profound such as the Truth or Tyrant Realm. The stronger one's soul was, the greater their comprehension of the world's laws as well as martial skills. It could also increase the chance of breaking through to these profound realms earlier. There were probably realms above the Asura Realm that required one to have a strong soul to break through. The elements of the world contained the basic profound knowledge of the realms of martial cultivation. The more elements you were well versed in, the better. In this case, Feng Yun had already learned all seven of the primary elements. His soul could be considered already at a really strong level. By adding one more element to the mix, Feng Yun's comprehension ability would only become greater. What he didn't expect however was that the effect of adding one of the four creation elements to the mix was incomparably stronger than adding a primary element. The spiritual energy contained in the Void Element used to strengthen the soul was at least ten times greater than that of a primary element like earth or fire.

Feng Yun smiled to himself. He had forgotten his earlier rage after seeing the mighty strength that his soul possessed. The time it took to make breakthroughs would be so much shorter. Originally, Feng Yun talent could already be considered extremely great, but with the Eleven Coloured Leaf supporting him, cultivation could become child's play. However, he still had to guard against people as at his current strength, he was just too weak. Also, he still hadn't found the other missing three elements. He took a look at his dantian and was pleasantly surprised. His cultivation had directly leaped into the third layer of the Xiantian Realm! With this level of cultivation, he was now worthy of entering the Holy Continental Academy. This was simply too astonishing because it was only a year ago that he was at the Ninth layer of the Tempered Body. To have advanced three levels which included having breaking through into the Xiantian Realm was unfathomable. Most of it relied on his own personal talent as well as luck. He had encountered many experiences in the past year that have forged his strength into what it is now. If one year was enough to get him through the requirements of Holy Continental Academy, how far could he go in the next year? He was only twelve years old. He had a lot of time to cultivate.

After he had completely done a full scan on the status of his body and cultivation, he exited his meditation state. He gazed at Xia Qing. His originally lax eyes were now fully alert as he gazed at Xia Qing. He had not noticed it due to his intense cultivation state but Xia Qing had not yet absorbed the Void element. Rather, she seemed to have trouble taking it into her body. No, Feng Yun thought. She had already absorbed it into her body, but she was suffering mentally. Feng Yun thought back to his vision. His vision was one of a great battle. Could it be that Xia Qing had a vision as well. It appeared that this vision wasn't as simple as Feng Yun's was. She shivered constantly and an expression of fear creeped onto her face. Her face had beads of cold sweat running down her face. However, the sweat she was feeling froze the minute it condensed, making her tainted face turn pure again. However, her condition was in no way pure. She had exited a cultivation position and now lay on the floor, hands on her shoulders. Signs of the vision disappearing did not show however. She seemed terrified and slightly whispered in her deep state.

"No...don't do it! Don't kill them!" She seemed very pitiful and tears rolled down her cheeks. Feng Yun narrowed his golden and ruby eyes onto her body, gazing at the condition. He could somehow see the status of her body with his special eyes. It was indeed not good. Large amounts of Yuan Energy pulsated outwards and could not stabilize. It rushed outwards like a chaotic sea. The undulations of Yuan Energy caused even Feng Yun to be stupefied. He ran over to Xia Qing's shivering body and touched her shoulder with his palm. He immediately felt a freezing sensation that threatened Feng Yun. He pulled his hand back in alarm.

"How cold!"

Feng Yun was secretly surprised. How could her body temperature drop to such a level? It shouldn't be possible. This was a nature that shouldn't be present in Xia Qing's body. Feng Yun then realized that he had to stabilize her body temperature else she would die from freezing. Feng Yun put both arms around Xia Qing's body and wrapped himself around her in a tight hug. Although the action was slightly inappropriate, the situation called for it and he could not hesitate. He slowly and carefully began to unload large amounts of Yuan energy on Xia Qing, fusing it into her body. The condition on Xia Qing's body lightened up for a moment and she began to warm up. However, this all disappeared in an instant when the coldness reappeared. Feng Yun tightly gritted his teeth. The coldness had come back this time much stronger. He was absorbing the coldness into his body while healing Xia Qing's body with his own Yuan energy. It was incredibly painful for him but he didn't hesitate to try harder and remove the coldness. Xia Qing was his companion and friend. He couldn't just leave her in a time of danger.

He doubled his efforts to try to absorb the energy but the same symptoms kept coming up. He began to feel extremely cold. He searched for methods to solve this problem in his brain. He then remembered the source of the sensation that Xia Qing was feeling at the moment. The Void Element. The Void Element was the source of the vision and the vision was causing her to feel extremely cold. Although Feng Yun could not expel her condition externally but if he entered her vision, then he could solve the problem on the inside. Feng Yun gazed at the black aura hovering around Xia Qing and opened his dantian. The black aura, having another source to enter, furiously rushed at Feng Yun's dantian. It was much more ferocious than Feng Yun's black aura which had seemed calm and powerful. this black aura seemed savage and demon like. Whose memories do these belong to? Feng Yun absorbed as much as his dantian would allow and slowly, his consciousness began to drift away. He shut his eyes and prepared to enter Xia Qing's vision.

Feng Yun opened his eyes to a completely different atmosphere. The presence that he was feeling was much different than the vision that he had experienced himself. He could smell the stench of blood and a horrifying presence in the air. He gazed around his surroundings to see the setting of the vision. He was in a dark forest. There was a lot of darkness and the forest gave Feng Yun the feeling of eeriness and loneliness. Feng Yun frowned. He would have to locate Xia Qing fast and get out of this place. Feng Yun searched around trying to find any sign of her but he still couldn't locate her. Suddenly, she heard a loud scream. Feng Yun broke out into a sprint and headed towards the sound. It didn't take him long to reach the scene and he exclaimed in shock at the sight before him. In front of him was a slaughter. A group of villagers were dying in front of him. Blood was splattering across the grass and Feng Yun had no idea what was happening. Men, women and children all fell to the ground, cut marks flying across their chests. Feng Yun watched from a better angle and saw that a man could be seen in between the villagers. He was incredibly terrifying. He was covered in black from head to toe. He had a shrouded face and a demonic smile that could inspire fear in even the most strong willed of people. The man was constantly disappearing from different places and killing villagers. Each time he killed someone, upon seeing the organs splashing out, he would let out an ecstatic smile filled with glee. Feng Yun looked on with disgust. This man was a murderer. He took complete pleasure in killing people. Suddenly, he heard a shout.

"NO! What the hell is wrong with you?! TO slaughter so much innocents, how can you do this?" The voice was very familiar. That was because the voice belonged to Xia Qing. Feng Yun could see her silhouette masked by a few trees and made his way over to her. He could hear her saying to herself,

"If this is the result of learning the Void Element, then I don't wish to obtain this element!" Xia Qing had tears in her eyes as she gazed at the villagers on the ground and at the demon. Feng Yun was shocked. The situation was more complicated than he thought. She had already grasped the Void Element, but she chose to reject it after seeing the vision of it usage. The demon had used it to manipulate space and appear in front of the villagers when they tried to escape. He would then cut them down mercilessly. Feng Yun felt sympathetic towards Xia Qing, who was kneeling on the ground in sorrow. He walked over slowly and placed his hands around her shoulder. The sudden feeling of someone touching awoke Xia Qing from her sorrow and she looked behind her. To her shock, Feng Yun was right there with a smile as gentle as a lake.

"Feng Yun, why are you here? You are done absorbing the element?!" Xia Qing felt very surprised that Feng Yun was in her vision.

"Indeed. However, upon seeing your harmful condition, I had to enter your vision in order to help you."

"Well I'm sorry for making you come here but I cannot accept this element. The Void Element can be used in such a way. It is a element for slaughtering the innocent and ruining lives. I cannot accept this even if it kills me. It goes against my very principles that I bound myself to."

Feng Yun only smiled wider. This girl was very determined and strong willed. She would reject power if it meant succumbing to evil. He understood her much more now. He extended his arms into a hug around her. Xia Qing was very surprised and astonished that he would make such a motion of affection towards her. Her cheeks turned slightly rosy and looked incredibly cute. She tried to break out of his grasp and said,

"Feng Yun, what are you doing?! Do not touch---"

"Silly girl, you don't need to think of the Void Element in such a way. This is only the way this demonic idiot chose to use the Void Element. However, you are someone much better. You can use the Void Element in a way that this person never could. Use it for good. Use it for your ideals. You don't have to abide by the rules that this person set. You are the master of your own power. Forge your own path with your own power. That is the true meaning of cultivation!" Feng Yun's words caused tremors to be sent throughout her body. She could understand now that she was in control of her own power. She would use the power gained from the Void Element in a way that the demon had not.

"Feng Yun, can I truly do it? Can I forge my own path?"

"Of course you can. Believe me. Don't you trust me? I am your friend. I will not hesitate to help you if you stray from the path of goodness."

"Ahh...yes, I understand. I will trust you." Xia Qing had become much more open to Feng Yun. She had now understood the value and importance of her first friend. He had helped her even when she was in trouble. Saved her when she was on the brink of death. Feng Yun could be said to now be the most important person in her life after her family. Although she wouldn't admit it, a new feeling arose in her chest, a feeling that was a bit different from friendship. She couldn't understand what exactly it was but she knew she would come to understand it with the passage of time.

A light arose from Xia Qing's body as the black aura began to fully become affiliated with her body. It had now become her own power. She was now in control of the Void Element. The scene of the slaughter fest began to diminish and the duo was thrust back into reality. Xia Qing awoke, her eyes burning black for a moment before diminishing completely and reverting to their original azure color. She looked around to see her purple hair tangled around a figure that was laying next to her. The figure's delicate hands were wrapped around her neck and seemed like a gesture of affection. Xia Qing knew instantly it was Feng Yun and her face turned beet red. The handsome figure was sleeping like a doll until his eyes twitched. He then opened his eyes and looked at Xia Qing with a tired face that seemed charming.

"Hello, Xia Qing. Did you have a nice nap?" He joked around.

"Feng Yun, get off of me you rogue!" She was furious but still looked really cute. She wasn't actually mad but a bit annoyed by the fact that Feng Yun had done such a thing while they were in the vision. Feng Yun got up just to avoid a blast of Yuan Energy.

"Woah! Hey, I had to do it just to enter your vision and stabilize your body's condition okay. There was no other intention behind it." Feng Yun sounded very defensive. Xia Qing furrowed her eyebrows, then let out a sigh. She understood Feng Yun's intentions perfectly but still couldn't help getting embarrassed.

"None of that again okay?"

"Sure, as long as the situation doesn't require it."

Xia Qing nodded, seemingly having accepted the response. They both chatted for a bit about their visions, each one infatuated with the other. Xia Qing had not advanced to the third layer of the Xiantian Realm yet but she had signs that she would be doing it soon. Her soul had also grown stronger albeit not as storng as Feng Yun's due to him having lived two lives. Feng Yun then said,

"Around tomorrow, we'll have to leave for the escort mission. Lets rest up and get prepared." Xia Qing nodded, the earlier excitement gone as they remembered the mission and their goal. They had to get to the Holy Continental Academy as fast as possible. Thinking of something, Xia Qing looked around. She saw the ruined room and the scraps of wood. She sighed and said,

"Before we do any preparation, how are we going to explain this?"

Feng Yun gave a blank stare without any emotion. Then, he slightly chuckled. He didn't know either.
