《Overlord Spirit Martial Emperor》Sky Wind City

______________________________________________________________________________________________
It did not take long to get to Sky Wind city. The hills that they traveled over did not have much rough terrain and the beasts that they met along the way were either too slow or too weak so they just ignored them and moved on. The hours passed by and the duo's speed had not decreased in the slightest. This kind of distance, to a person at the Tempered Body Layer, would take several days to traverse, or even weeks! One could notice from the high speed that Xia Qing and Feng Yun were traveling that the Tempered Body Layer was indeed incomparable to the Xiantian Realm. Feng Yun's speed was much quicker than Xia Qing's due to the Cloudscale Sect Evasion Arts that he trained in. The evasion arts allowed the user to maneuver him/her self to high speeds such that you could dodge extreme attacks and escape perilous situations. Altogether, there were about six phases to the technique. This was the exact same technique that made the Cloudscale Sect's first ancestor so famous. Getting to Sky Wind city and locating it was an easy task. After all, Sky Wind City was a Second Class City. It was big enough that you could see it from quite a while away.
As Feng Yun and Xia Qing made their way to the city, they noticed a large silhouette in the distance. It seemed towering and had a beautiful atmosphere surrounding it. The silhouette gave off a majestic aura and gave the visitors that crowded around it a sense of welcoming and awe. As they got closer, they could see the form of the city walls. They were quite large and made of a green metal that glistened against the sun. It shined brightly and seemed as if nothing could harm it at all. Spiritual Jadestone, Feng Yun thought. Spiritual Jadestone was formally known as one of the most powerful metals in the continent and had the strength that even cultivators a couple levels away from the Asura Realm would find hard to break without putting in some effort. The metal had the properties of being able to store spiritual energy imbued by a cultivator and used for battle. Although a cultivator might not need it, they could be used for strengthening an army to be able to use the energy stored within the weapon or armor. The metal was not too common, but here it was being used in such surplus for the walls of a city. Feng Yun and Xia Qing were surprised upon seeing this.
"Sky Wind City" they whispered to themselves. Sky Wind City was indeed deserving of its reputation as a Second Class City. It must have large amounts of wealth to be able to construct its large walls out of the rare metal known as Spiritual Jadestone. Feng Yun and Xia Qing began to slow down upon seeing that they were a mile or two from the city gates. Many carriages lined up waiting to be let in to the city. People weren't even inside yet but there was already a large amount of commotion. Mercenaries laughed loudly and merchants discussed with each other while filling themselves with alcohol. The line was very long but the guards at the gate moved fast. Feng Yun and Xia Qing waited until it was their turn. They already had their hoods slipped on. There were too many people here. There may be a person who could recognize them among the many travelers. As a carriage passed by the guard, he beckoned the duo to move up and register.

"You two young people are very young. What might you be doing here in a Second Class City like our Sky Wind City?" The guard inquired. Naturally, he was quite surprised at the physical appearances of Feng Yun and Xia Qing. Although he could not very clearly see their faces, he could tell how young they were. In addition, they seemed to carry the majestic aura of a nobility. The guard didn't dare to sleight them. He could accidentally offend some great power. The guard had seen many people that hid under the disguises of poor people but were actually people of extraordinary status. Feng Yun smiled at the guard although it couldn't be seen very well.
"Hmmm, my sister and I are hoping to gain some combat experience from joining a mercenary group in the city. We have heard of many powerful groups that gather here." Feng Yun said coolly. The guard nodded his head. The boy in front of him seemed to be very confident in his strength. It had to be said that most mercenary groups in Sky Wind City had members mostly above the Xiantian Realm. People attempting to join a group would have to have the strength of at least the Xiantian First or Second Layer to join.
"Hmm, if you're that confident in being able to join a group, I won't stop you. Be careful however, not all of them can be trusted. Okay, the rules are simple. Don't cause huge trouble in the city. If you do, the security guards of the city will hold you into custody without question. Keep your fights outside the city." The guard warned them promptly before letting them proceed past the gate. Feng Yun and Xia Qing nodded their heads and walked past the guard entering through the arched door that guarded the entrance to Sky Wind City. A refreshing feeling was given to them as a greeting when they stepped through and the sounds of conversation were endless never ceasing. The city was full of life. Shops were spread throughout the streets. People from all kinds of places walked down. Many were quite strong cultivators. Some were people who didn't cultivate at all. The level of liveliness in this city was much higher than Snow Beast Town. That town could be considered trash in the face of this grand and marvelous place.
Feng Yun and Xia Qing walked through scanning their gazes through the plaza. They appeared to be looking for something. After awhile, Feng Yun said,
"Come Xia Qing. We will find an inn for us to rest in after our long journey. Once we have properly rested, we will search for a mercenary group to join."
Xia Qing nodded in response and the two ventured through the endless crowds that squeezed them from all ends. It was quite uncomfortable but they eventually landed in a space with a lot more space than the previous location. The duo searched around until they found someone who could tell them where to find an inn to stay in. The man told them to find an inn called the Emerald Dragon. Supposedly, it was very famous within the city and offered very nice hospitality to guests that could pay enough. Feng Yun didn't lack for money since he carried a lot of it with him from the sect. They thanked the informant and left to go find this inn. It didn't take them long to find it as it had a very large crowd around it. The inn spanned three buildings and was filled with many people going in and out. Evidently, business was always good at the Emerald Dragon. Feng Yun and Xia Qing walked in and searched an innkeeper. After a couple minutes, they found her discussing with a few employees about something.

"Hmm, Kai Ye died on the mountains? Well that's fine then. Just give his room to the next person who asks." The innkeeper was speaking in a very indifferent voice. Feng Yun walked up to her and asked her,
"Excuse me, could you prepare a room for me and my sister to spend the night in?"
The innkeeper turned around and upon seeing the youth in front of her, she couldn't help but stare blankly. She regained her composure after awhile and said to him,
"Ummm...yes sir! Hmmm...as a matter of fact, one of our rooms just opened up for someone so we shall give it to you. However, young man, you must have the money to pay for this kind of service. Are you sure you want to do this?" The innkeeper had a stern face on. She needed the money for the room.
"How much is it?" Feng Yun said indifferently.
"For one night, it will cost you 15 Black Gold." The innkeeper said to him. Feng Yun opened up a tear in space and immediately, a pouch of coins flew out. Feng Yun caught it from falling and handed it to the innkeeper. She had an incredulous look on her old face. The boy had just casually took out more than fifteen Black Gold coins and handed it to her. In the forms of currency in the continent, there was gold, then black gold, and finally purple gold coins. Feng Yun had a ton of black gold coins so he wasn't worried about not having funds. As for purple gold coins, he had them in lesser amount than his black gold coins due to their exceeding rarity. Even the Cloudscale Sect wasn't so rich that they would have a near limitless amount of purple gold coins. Having Black gold already made you considered very rich in Sky Wind City. The fact that Feng Yun had just brought out a pouch pf black gold coins easily symbolized his special status. The innkeeper noticed this and accepted the tribute.
"Alright, give us the keys to our room. We are very tired." Feng Yun looked behind him and saw Xia Qing slightly yawning. The innkeeper furiously nodded and pulled out a set of keys from her pockets.
"Right away young master. I hope you enjoy your stay at the Emerald Dragon." The innkeeper handed the keys to him and without hesitation, they left to find their room upstairs on the next floor of the building. The innkeeper let out a sigh that she had been building up as she watched them leave. Who are these two people that they have such a noble aura yet strong character at this young an age?
Feng Yun found their room after a few minutes of searching the large building. All the doors of the rooms were embroidered with gold and had silver linings on them. Feng Yun opened the door to theirs and was greeted by a bright room with many paintings and gold mirrors. The room was quite big. It could hold over five beds and many people at a time. This was heaven in comparison to the inn room that they had used in Snow Beast Town. Feng Yun and Xia Qing both collapsed onto their beds simultaneously embracing the cushion of the pillows and silk that warmed their body.
"Xia Qing, let us both take a short nap. Once we awaken, let us go find a mercenary group to join." Feng Yun said sleepily. Xia QIng too nodded. Both were tired after their previous ordeals. Once they awoke, they would be in a better state to be productive.
