Feng Yun was truly curious and had tried to comprehend the concept known as Creation Synthesis while waiting for Xia Qing to awaken once more. He had tried over and over again but he still couldn't understand it. It seems as if the power of Creation Synthesis only came when he was in desperate times. Perhaps the more he advances in cultivation, the more insights he gains into the concept. Although he indeed have control over seven of the eleven elements, he couldn't fuse them together like he did before. He did however, advance in understanding his Divine Beast Ability and is able to control it much more easily. The last couple days have been very profitable. He is close to the third layer. Extremely close. If he just put in some effort for the next couple weeks, he could probably advance without a problem.
After exiting his meditation, he slowly opened his eyes. It should be time for Xia Qing to awaken, he thought.
"Warden, how is her condition?" Feng Yun mentally sent.
"Hmm? Oh, she's fine. Her internal injuries have stabilized and repaired. She's also at the second layer of the Xiantian realm. Although she is at this stage however, she is ten times weaker than you. That's probably due to the benefits that you have received since birth."
"Hmm, is that so? Well, at least she can protect herself now from enemies such that I don't need to all the time. It would also improve her mood a bit to know that she has advanced another level." Feng Yun said to himself. He would have to give her an excuse for how her injuries were healed. Feng Yun had a slight headache just thinking about it.
Suddenly, a light flashed out of the corner of his eye. It was being emitted by Xia Qing's body. The light merely lasted for a moment before going away however. Feng Yun walked over to Xia Qing's unconscious body. He stared at her face, searching for any signs of her waking up. Then, he noticed that her eyes started to twitch. Then, her mouth let out a moan as she began to move around. Finally, her eyes opened up slowly and swept it's gaze across the sky. It landed on Feng Yun who smiled at her. She stared blankly for a moment before realizing what just happened.
"WOAH!!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. It almost split the ears of Feng Yun, who was right next to her. He covered his ears and scrunched up his face in pain.
"Dammit woman, can you not scream so loudly. Heavens, after expending all of that effort into healing you, this is what happens?" Feng Yun shouted. Xia Qing blinked her eyes before looking at Feng Yun again. She then let out an embarrassed smile.
"Sorry. Wait, Feng Yun, what happened to the Blood Demon Sect experts that attacked us?" She was slightly worried that they were still around and surveyed her surroundings. Feng Yun shook his head and smiled.
"Thanks to your protection, I was able to kill them all. You sustained a lot of heavy injuries but I was able to heal them."

"Truly? How did you heal me? If I'm not mistaken, it should have been incredibly hard for you to heal me. My dantian was also on the verge of crumbling." She was curious as to the means Feng Yun used to heal her.
"Well, let's just say I used special means to heal you. It took some resources to do it but I made it possible." Feng Yun grinned at her secretively. He was not willing to tell her just yet. Xia Qing shook her head and smiled. She didn't care either way what means he used. He saved her and that was all that mattered. She was too grateful to him to question Feng Yun.
"Then, Feng Yun, I truly am grateful to you for helping my condition. I don't know how much effort that it took to do this, but this one is eternally in debt to you." She bowed to him deeply and had not a single hint of restraint. She was also prepared to kowtow to him. She would only submit to those she admired or saved her. Feng Yun, upon seeing this scrambled to pull her up. He felt very uncomfortable seeing his own friend bow down.
"Xia Qing! Why must you show such admiration. We are friends so this is only normal. You will never bow to me. After all, you would do the same for me." He showed her a deep smile and in which she immediately calmed down. She was surpised that he had such a level of trust in her. This made her feel warm inside. She rose up and after a moment of silence, spoke.
"What should we do about the Blood Demon Sect? Those nasty people attempted to kill us and we should just do nothing?"
"Oh don't worry, they will suffer a terrifying death. I will make sure of that. We are still too weak though. I've heard that every single disciple that has come out of the Holy Continental Academy has either become a Truth Realm or Tyrant Realm cultivator. If we attain that kind of strength, then we can certainly pose a threat to the Blood Demon Sect. I don't wish to tell the Xu Dynasty because I want to personally end their lives." A cold light flashed past Feng Yun's eyes. It was evident that he would not let this matter go. He would get stronger and then come destroy them.
"I see. I shall get stronger as well. They have angered me as well. It is my duty to help you. Hmph, just you wait, Blood Demon Sect. We will destroy you ourselves one day. Wait for us until then." Xia Qing had a fire burning in her eyes. She was also filled with rage after this incident.
"Feng Yun, from what you have told me, I was out for a couple days. We may have lost some time in our little skirmish. What do you suggest to make up for it?" Xia Qing was worried that the time it would take to get there would only extend. She had almost forgotten this in her rage over the Blood Demon Sect's attacks. Feng Yun pondered on this for a moment and then said,

"Hmm. Indeed, we have lost some time. The closest city to our current location is Sky Wind City, a Second Class city. That is usually where a lot of mercenary bands join up to receive missions. They usually include transportation as well. I suggest that we first head there to rest. Then, we'll find a mercenary caravan to join and we'll leave the city. Once we reach the designated location that we need to get to, we'll leave the caravan." Cities were divided into classes. There were Third Class Cities, Second Class Cities, First Class Cities and Imperial Class Cities. The Snow Beast Town that they recently visited could be considered a Third Class City because it was not a very good quality city. Second Class Cities were said to be over a hundred times better. Same goes for the First Class Cities. However, Feng Yun has heard only legends about Imperial Class Cities. Rumors say that they have golden streets and high walls. They are filled with experts and is a heaven for any merchant looking to sell things.
Xia Qing nodded obviously approving the idea. They would gain a lot of combat experience from this and would gain back the lost time that they needed from travelling with a mercenary caravan.
"When do we leave?" She asked. Feng Yun spoke,
"We'll leave in a couple hours. It's not too far. Maybe seventy miles away. We have both reached the Xiantian Realm Second Layer so reaching there in a few hours is no problem. Right now, it is about noon. We'll get there by nightfall. For now, lets just focus on stabilizing your energy that has recently made a breakthrough. Lets hunt some beasts. Once we've finished the stabilizing the chaotic energy surging through you, we'll leave immediately." Feng Yun said with a resolute gaze. Xia Qing nodded and took a quick look at her dantian. It was currently raging about like a madman and seemed untameable.
To her surprise, she also found a large amount of beast aura emanating from her soul as well. It was filled with the diversity of countless beasts and she couldn't figure out how they ended up there. Logically thinking, she realized that Feng Yun must have had something to do with her newly transformed soul. She looked at him for a moment and then quickly looked away. She was grateful and he had saved her life so she had no right to complain. Feng Yun had also caught her gaze and lightly sighed. He too was thankful that she didn't question him too much. It would have been difficult to explain anyway.
The duo roamed about the forest without much difficulty. There were hardly any Xiantian Realm Beasts and if there were, they were usually at the First Layer or Second Layer. They were not enough of a challenge for them. Feng Yun purposely made Xia Qing reduce her strength to match that of the beasts she fought so that she actually stabilized it quite well. If she just mercilessly use her full power to kill them easily, wouldn't there be no point to training? You had to push yourself to reach new heights in the world of cultivation. Together, the duo started a wanton slaughter. The forest was showered with blood and they were called many names by the beasts of the forest most common being, 'The Demon Twins' or 'Reapers of Death'. Most would cower upon seeing their faces and lose all hope of escaping. Many tried to avoid them but still somehow found themselves staring at them. Every time a beast or family of beasts came across Feng Yun and Xia Qing, there would be not one beast left in the family. If another beast got curious and smelled the scent of blood, upon seeing the bodies left from the carnage, they would be instantly horrified. The remains of the beasts were all spread out. Organs littered the floor and bits of brain would be scattered across the blood soaked field. Heads would be missing from their necks, completely decapitated. One would think that a really sharp blade did this but it was actually just Feng Yun's arm slicing their heads with imbued energy. In just a couple hours of constant hunting, the duo completely cleared out the entire forest. There was not a single beast that was left. Beasts from outside the forest would smell blood and gaze at the forest with curious gazes. However, upon hearing the screams of dying beasts, they would retreat without a second thought. The only beasts left were aerial beasts but they had moved out before the duo could reach their nests. Evidently, the had received the news of the slaughter earlier than most and had sensed a bad omen. Their decision ultimately saved their lives and left Feng Yun and Xia Qing slightly disappointed. They wanted to fight birds as well but the situation had now changed that wish.
Helplessly, they made their way to the end of the forest where not one beast could be seen in the vast expanse of grass. The exit was not very large and was guarded by sharp bamboo sticks that arched over to form a gate. There was also a wood rim surrounding it. That gate had not been touched in a long time. Feng Yun walked up to it and whispered,
"This gate is too small for me." He then proceeded to slash his arm across the bamboo layered gate without a hint of hesitation and the gate shuddered for a moment, before being cleanly split into two pieces. A larger hole was formed from the gate being destroyed. The duo calmly walked through it and entered the bright sunlight that shone through the newly formed hole. It illuminated their faces bringing their pale skin and beautiful complexions into full light. Feng Yun stretched his arms while letting out a yawn. His face felt warm from feeling the full sunlight shining. Xia Qing felt the same as well.
"Ahh, it should be time for us to leave for Sky Wind City." Xia Qing said. Feng Yun nodded. They had to leave for the city. Recalling the direction of the city from the map he memorized, Feng Yun sped off in the direction of Sky Wind City, with Xia Qing closely tailing him.
