REALM OF SOVEREIGNS
A figure could be seen zooming through the air at unimaginable speeds far surpassing what cultivators in Wushu Zhicai could ever accomplish. This was a sovereign. He looked like a 20 year old youth, and wore beautiful white robes, had white hair, a staff on his back and had black eyes. He had a look of kindness and excitement on him but people who knew of him understood, that when he was angry, not many could stop him. This man was none other than the man who controlled the cycle of life and death and the reincarnation cycle, Death King Yama.
He was flying through the endless plain that was called the Realm of Sovereigns. The skies were seven different colors each color representing a different territory. However, the place Yama was heading to was not any of the seven territories though. He instead was heading straight up vertically and he had to fly for about an hour before reaching his destination, a large floating golden palace in the sky.
The whole area containing the palace was a super island that could probably consist of ten million large islands on any of the seven territories that governed the lower part of the Realm of Sovereigns. In the center was an extremely large palace that could only be described as heavenly. It was covered in golden walls with the insignia of a coiled dragon with a sword piercing through the coils making it seem as if the dragon was holding the sword within its body.
Yama sped in the direction of the palace and arrived at the courtyard, which was a large expanse of land with grass greener than any heavenly plant and a sense of tranquility that you could hardly find anywhere else. Yama descended from the skies and landed next to a table in the courtyard. The table was provided with shade by an umbrella and a middle aged looking man could be seen sipping from a cup of tea looking disinterested at the fact that Yama had come to visit. This showed the amount of arrogance and power he held. The man had raven black hair which was short and purple robes that seemed to complement his style. He looked quite handsome disregarding the three inch long scar that ran across his cheek. The man was currently deep in thought and was surprised that Yama had come. He decided to probe him.
"Reaper king, why have you come? Is it regarding news about THAT matter?" The man had a tone of indifference but Yama didn't seem to mind. This man had the qualifications to speak to Yama so informally.
"Yes, Supreme Monarch, I have come bearing information regarding that child. I have discovered a couple things that may interest you." Yama had a bright smile on his face as he bowed in respect.
"Ho, enlighten me then. What has happened to that stupid child that took his life due to him being bored. All those years of training, just to be reborn again." The man seemed to grit his teeth slightly as if wishing he could spank the kid currently.
"Ahaha...yesss," Yama said awkwardly.
"Feng Yun has realized what the cultivation technique that you gifted him's true purpose was. He has gained insights onto how to make better use of the technique. Frankly, his progress is astounding based on the fact that many elder supreme experts close to my level have tried to understand this technique but have failed."

He paused as he saw a reaction from the monarch. The man had trouble swallowing his tea. He raised his eyebrows in shock.
"Already?!!! I was thinking that even with that boys talent from his previous life he would still take maybe twenty years or so. What the hell?" He then let out a sigh."It is to be expected. After all, he has the blood of a king on his side. Maybe I have given him a little too much benefits. I should have disabled that bloodline of his. Damn it I can't do that anymore now that he's been engaged into a new life. By the way, why'd you give him six spirits, reaper?" The man was curious.
"It was not I who gave him the spirits sire. Those were his own personal karmic gain. Although I find that still unbelievable, it is the undeniable truth. Anyways, the second thing is that he obtained a soul bone artifact."
"Hmmm? What it's just a soul bone artifact? That's it, what's so special about that?"
"This soul bone artifact is not normal. Sire, do you remember the day that Ancestor Azure Dragon fell in battle and descended from heavens towards a plane that nobody knew of?"
"Wait...you're talking five thousand years ago when Tempest attacked Ancestor Azure and brought him down. No one knew exactly where he fell but Tempest wasn't able to get his corpse which left him pretty angry. Haha, that was funny. Serves that bastard right! The fact that you're mentioning this means that...No, no way. Not this brat."
The man tried to shake his head in disbelief but watched as Yama nodded his head at the assumption that the man had come up with.
"Senior Xiang, the artifact was the wings of old man Azure. They are currently fused with Feng Yun's body."
Senior Xiang slumped in his chair slightly and looked a little excited.
"Hehe, this changes everything. By having assimilated the Falling Heavens Wings, he's basically started a feud with Tempest. Things are starting to get interesting around here. Perhaps it wasn't too bad of an idea to give him these benefits." Senior Xiang lightly smiled.
"Get over here brat. I'll be waiting."
WUSHU ZHICAI (Martial Sanction)
Feng Yun had been recovering quite well from his injuries from the assassination attempt. From this experience, he had learned just how weak his cultivation was compared to the true monsters in the world. Not too much had changed except the fact that Feng Yun was usually accompanied by six guards, all men of the Xiantian realm and to be honest, Feng Yun was used to being alone and prowling the night solo so he felt uncomfortable in this new sensation. He had tried to persuade his parents to keep them away however his mom strongly disagreed and told him that he had to.
She gave him a stern look and he immediately kept quiet. Well, at least they weren't publicly surrounding him. They were hiding in the shadows and Yun could feel their faint aura leaking out a little. Today was the day that Feng Luo was going to take him into the treasury. Feng Yun didn't actually know what the treasury was, but he assumed that it would be a place filled with treasures and wealth. He was looking forward to it. He walked down the paved road and arrived at a building.
It was large but not very pretty and looked mostly normal. His father was standing outside, waiting for him. Feng Luo smiled as he approached and gave a nod to the six men signaling that they can leave. They walked out of the shadows, bowed, and left at great speed. Feng Yun looked at them for a moment before turning his gaze towards Feng Luo to indicate he was ready. Feng Yun was staring at the uninteresting building the currently stood in front of. It seemed to be a very well concealed place to hide great treasure. It was hidden in plain sight. Yun stepped forward to go inside but was stopped by Feng Luo. Feng Luo smiled at him and said,

"That's not the treasury boy. Come I'll show you the real treasury."
Feng Luo was very ominous about his words and Feng Yun had some questions that were raised in his head. Feng Luo grabbed onto his arm and they went zooming at lightning fast speed as they exited the sect entrance and traveled over some forests before landing at the base of a mountain that was covered in vegetation and a large forest much larger than the ones they had come across previously. Feng Yun was surprised.
They kept the treasury here? Why specifically this place? The mountain and forests seemed to give a very dangerous feeling of death and reeked of the bloodlust of hundreds of demonic beasts. Feng Yun secretly lamented to himself thinking that this was a tad bit too excessive to hide the treasury here. But his doubts were dispelled as another shocking fact flew from Feng Luo's mouth.
"Haha, you're wondering where the treasury is, aren't you? Well, to clear your doubt, I'll answer this for you. You're standing amongst it. That's right, the treasury is the whole entire Rabid Wasteland and Black Horn Mountain."
He grinned with amusement at seeing Feng Yun's shocked reaction. Those two locations were the bloodlust filled forest and domineering mountain.
"Wait...what? But how? Isn't the treasury..." Feng Yun was stuttering and was cut off by Feng Luo at that moment.
"This isn't a treasure for gold and riches. This treasury has so much of a variety of spirit beasts that a whole sect could get spirit abilities. It also has an extreme abundance in energy making it an ideal place to cultivate. Your mission is to stay in that environment for two years and survive. You must pick out your six spirit abilities and advance to as high of a cultivation level as possible. Survive Feng Yun, else you will not be my son!"
Feng Luo's originally smiling face turned solemn and he spoke quite strictly. He was slightly afraid that Feng Yun would hate him for this but was surprised to see his son nodding so readily. Feng Yun was used to these kinds of things from his previous life. His previous father was always strict but he had learned to adapt to it and realized that his father was only that way for his own benefit. Feng Yun had a very mature outlook on life and thus made things easier for Feng Luo. Feng Luo slightly raised the corners of his mouth and stretched out his hand. In it was a jade pendant that looked a but normal but Feng Yun could feel a mysterious aura coming from it.
"I told you that you would be staying here for two years but I didn't say you would be completely without protection. This jade pendant is the Ten Thousand Mile Traveler. It will transport you to the location that you are thinking of and is within the ten thousand mile range. It can only be used once and is only active after you have spent a year here. Good luck my son. And may you come back better man."
With that, Feng Luo gave one last look before disappearing just as fast as he had arrived with Feng Yun. Feng Yun turned around and stared at the depths of the Rabid Wasteland which seemed to give off an aura of death. Then, his gaze switched over to the Black Horn Mountain, which gave off an even greater pressure, it's black peak looking down upon all the living things below it. Feng Yun slowly sighed and descended down the cliff and into the forest.
The Rabid Wasteland was truly not simple. There was a large abundance in spiritual essence in the air which could help him cultivate faster as well as his spirits grow. There was always a constant stench of death reeking from every corner that Feng Yun turned and would have turned any normal man mad sick but he was different. This kind of bloodlust was nothing. He had seen true horrors beyond comparison.
In Yun's previous life, he had sat on top of a pile of hundreds of thousands of bodies. They had all been soldiers. He had even seen a whole country poisoned to death. Naturally this didn't bother him. Feng Yun strolled past the trees and extended his sense outwards not catching anything within sight. That's weird, he thought. Normally, in this kind of place, there should be a large abundance of beasts but surprisingly Feng Yun could find none. There were two options. One, this was the territory of a powerful beast that other beasts didn't dare offend and two, all the beasts here had been killed. Feng Yun's decision of the two choices shifted towards the first one as he realized suddenly that a presence, although small was heading straight towards him and had a killing intent. Shit, Yun thought. It was coming too fast. He wouldn't be able to block the whole attack.
"Cloudscale Sect Evasion Arts!"
His body became blurry and disappeared, but not before a large claw ripped off the shoulder portion of his clothing and left a deep gash on his shoulder. Feng Yun looked at his shoulder wincing as the blood began to spread. He ripped off the hem of his shirt and tied it around his arm. Then, he focused on the opponent before him. His opponent had a large furry body with white hairs and a crown like metal outlining its forehead. It was about two meters tall a bit taller than Feng Yun himself. It's claws were about a yard or two with the sharpness of knives and seemed as if they could cut cleanly through steel. The monster's eyes looked very arrogant and prideful as it gave a snort at Feng Yun's dodging attempt. The latter raised his eyebrows in shock as he realized what beast truly was.
A White Kingwolf!!! These beasts were rare as they only came out of every one thousand normal Kingwolves. They had the pride of a lord of the forest and were considerably powerful. One at its peak stage could probably be equivalent to a Xiantian ninth stage. However, this one had not reached adulthood yet and was only at the Tempered Body 8th layer peak stage.
It was one step away from breaking through to the ninth layer so it was incredibly powerful compared to Feng Yun. However, Feng Yun's look on his face was that of pure excitement rather than fear. He was thinking that the White Kingwolf was a perfect first spirit ability for his Dragon spirit. The White Kingwolf was a Wind and Lightning elemental beast that, after some miraculous encounter reached the truth realm could manipulate the forces of Wind and Lightning and were said to be extremely terrifying existences.
This fit perfectly with the Golden Tyrant Thunder God Dragon whose elements were precisely Lightning and Wind. Not only that, but the White Kingwolf wad very skilled in agility so the spirit ability that Feng Yun would obtain could increase his speed and would be very helpful in either escaping or instant kills.
Back to the fight, Feng Yun drew his Overlord Heaven Piercer sword which immediately began its aura pressurization but only lasted for a few seconds before being released. The Kingwolf was surprised but it reverted back to its cold light and went on the offensive. Feng Yun was surprised. He noticed that this beast must be more powerful than those normal Tempered Body 9th layer cultivators that attacked him.
The wolf lunged at him making a flurry of strikes and Feng Yun blocked every one of them with an emotionless expression. However, upon blocking the final strike, it disappeared from his view and appeared behind him preparing to launch a strike. Feng Yun pivoted on his foot and met the strike head on with his own. The White Kingwolf was coated with a dense layer of qi and carried a forceful punch but wasn't enough in the face of Feng Yun's skills.
"Raiding Thunder Palm."
One must know that Feng Yun had mastered the fist and it's power surpassed most Tempered Body 8th layer cultivators. The fists met each other and the lightning qi from Feng Yun's fist won out making the wolf fly back a few meters and cough up some blood. It's eyes flared as it had an expression of indignation. It was losing to a human whelp? Impossible, it thought.
But Feng Yun had grasped extremely powerful methods. Feng Yun's entire true aura began to show. If Feng Luo had stuck around to see his progress, he would have been shocked to the point of fainting because Feng Yun was at the 7th Layer of the Tempered Body! He had broken through during the days that he had been recuperating. His power had not stabilized until now however and that caused his fighting efficiency to drastically decrease.
That was until now as he was fighting an opponent and stabilizing his energy at the same time. The wolf raised its head and disappeared from view. Escape? Feng Yun thought. No, impossible. It had too much pride for that. His suspicions were confirmed as a white figure flew at him from behind and managed to get a hit on Feng Yun's back who stumbled a bit before being palmed to the face and getting knocked back. He cursed loudly at it.
"Fuck your mother. Prideful beasts my ass. You're all just a bunch of cowardly dumbfucks that wish to win by dishonorable means. The best form of assassination is when you're right next to them and they don't realize who killed them before they're are dead. God, the amount of people who disgrace assassins in this world."
The wolf was angry and slightly confused at the speech that the human used. To have its pride insulted by such a lowly being infuriated it to the core. It was forced to a point that it would be on par with the human. It immediately lost all its sanity and began to do wild attacks against Yun in a rage. Naturally, this was all according to Feng Yun's plan. Feng Yun had meant his words but they were all mainly used as a means of provoking it such that it lost its rationality. Feng Yun kicked off his feet with his sword in hand and began trading blows with the wolf. Claws and swords flashed as the two figures continued to try to kill each other. Under Feng Yun's constant attacks, the Kingwolf had suffered extreme injuries and over half of its body wad covered in its own blood.
It had completely lost all arrogance and pride in its demeanor. It was blinded by rage and hit with everything it had. Under this madness, even Yun had a hard time. The wolf's agility had increased by five times and his offensiveness had always aimed for the lethal spots making it slightly difficult. Feng Yun got tired from their repetitive clashes and went in for the final strike. The wolf had launched a claw in which Yun had ducked under, drawing his sword in an attempt to pierce it's tough hide. The sword in theory should have pierced through its vital spot ending it's life but the strike was stopped by a mysterious force being emitted from the wolf thrusting Yun into a tree about five meters away.
Feng Yun wiped off a trace of blood and then stared at the wolf. It began to grow a type of gray and ugly armor over its body. Half of it was pure molded metal and the rest was skin. It was an extremely grotesque image but it had a very strong aura. It's muscles had multiplied and it had a nearly impenetrable material defense. Feng Yun stared at it and contemplated about what had changed. The fact that it was using this gray and ugly armor and that it grew off of its original body meant that it was most likely an innate ability and it was the wolf's last card.
Feng Yun narrowed his eyes and used an assassin sensory perception skill to try to find any weaknesses in the armor but they were too tiny and the defense wasn't something that could be hit so easily. The wolf roared at Feng Yun, it's sound making even the earth beneath them shake. It lunged and appeared in front of him in a flash. It spun it's claws in a twister like motion with qi dancing about. Feng Yun took it head on attempting to break it with his raw power maximized to the fullest.
"Raiding Thunder Palm condensed version, Five Finger Lightning Pincer."
Feng Yun immediately materialized a large amount of qi at his fingertips putting a lot of strain on them. Feng Yun gritted his teeth and met the claws head on. His fingers felt like they had hit a rock. The lightning shaped qi at his fingertips immediately dispersed and Feng Yun retracted his fingers however, not before a claw swiped down on him narrowly missing his head by an inch. He managed to block the strike with his katana but suffered a few cuts and some blood poured out of his fingertips from the amount of strain. He did a backflip and landed on the ground a few meters away, calmly looking at the Kingwolf with a contemplating expression.
I can't take down it through material attacks so how do I kill it, he thought. Was this it? Would he die like this? Never. He wouldn't die so easily. He would fight until he could never fight anymore. Kill until he could never kill anymore. Live till he couldn't live anymore. The fire in his eyes raged on and he lifted his head in defiance. A ringing sensation hit his head and he held it for a moment. A light was illuminating his mind and Feng Yun could feel that he was making a breakthrough. His eyes glowed and his hands and injuries began to heal at astonishing rates. The Kingwolf looked at the sensation in a daze. It's instincts determined danger from this light.
It steeled itself and leaped towards Feng Yun however, a shockwave sent it flying several meters before landing at a tree. It looked at the newly emerged Feng Yun who looked completely recovered and had a very cold light in his eyes. The Kingwolf felt fear at this attitude and lowered his head slightly. His fear was short lived and he got back up to fight Feng Yun. This was just a human. No matter what breakthrough he had gone through he would not be able to stop him. His pride and arrogance would only last a few more seconds. Feng Yun looked at the wolf preparing to kill him and sneered. This technique is going to utterly fuck your life up, he thought.
The wolf charged at him making a twister of claws and Feng Yun jumped back. The wolf gave a cold snort. This human only knew how to run. However, the smiling expression on the boy's face said otherwise. When Feng Yun was a little further away, he taunted the wolf.
"Hmph, you're the slowest beast in the world. You can't even catch a human like me. A king, losing to an eight year old like me. Laughable. Where did all of that pride and arrogance go, hmm?"
The wolf was extremely pissed. It lunged at extremely terrifying speed and attempted to use a one shot hit to behead Feng Yun but the latter smiled and clapped his palms together in a praying motion. Immediately, a powerful presence invaded the atmosphere. Two dragons formed out of qi stood beside Feng Yun.
He made a motion with his arms condensed the two dragon auras into one. He charged the condensed aura and immediately shot it out making it seems like two coiled dragons rushing straight at the wolf. A torrent of energy washed over the wolf and the wolf was knocked back from the pressure. It had felt fear at first and then realized that it hadn't done any physical damage to him. It sneered at Feng Yun but was confused because he was actually smiling. Feng Yun flicked his fingers and a rush of energy bubbled up in the Kingwolf 's chest. It screamed from the pain. The energy had attacked it's soul and it could feel it losing life. It clutched it's chest and scratched at it trying to make it go away. But there were two dragons eating away at its soul and after a couple of minutes, it breathed it's last breath and became silent.
Feng Yun let out a sigh and looked at the beast in excitement. The technique that Feng Yun had comprehended just then was the Twin Dragon's Harmony Torrent. It was an energy attack that attacked the soul and bypassed all physical defense. The two dragons summoned by the technique would enter the victim's body and eat at its soul making it lose its life. Feng Yun had comprehended it in his moment of despair and had saved his own life. He had always been close to it after having exited the Universal Bindings technique but hadn't gotten the time to take the last final step. Now, he had achieved it and he felt much stronger than before.
Now, all he needed to do was to consume the beast essence in order to gain the spirit ability. He walked over to the corpse of the White Kingwolf and saw a white circular glow hovering above its body. Feng Yun grabbed it and pulled towards his chest making it enter inside his body. He felt an extremely refreshing sensation as power began to bubble up in his dantian and his Dragon spirit was erratic. The qi circulated through his body and Yun could feel his spirit consuming the beast essence. Feng Yun opened his eyes and a smile crept onto his lips as he stood up.
Feng Yun assimilated his Dragon spirit and moved his foot one step. He appeared at a tree about twenty five meters from his original location. He opened his palms and looked at them. After assimilating the dragon spirit, his body had strengthened his wind and lightning qi making it rise to new heights. Feng Yun landed a slice with his fingers on a tree next to him and not only did it split apart, the net three one behind it split as well. Even the ground slightly shook. Feng Yun decided to name his first spirit ability.
"A very fitting ability. This agility technique will be called the Wind Transferrer ability." Feng Yun was very pleased with his new strength. He looked towards the forest in front of him. One down, five more to go, he thought.
"In these next two years, I will train hard and become the strongest in the Four Powers Competition. Xu family, Blood Demon sect? Every other power. Their disciples will all stand below me." Feng Yun began walking and didn't bother to look back. He had a firm conviction in his heart. He muttered softly to himself,
"Let the hunt begin."
