《The Aether Universe》Chapter 32

As Tai walked in the city, he let out a groan of annoyance. "Damn, I forgot to use my Pain Transferal skill. Oh, well..."
Tai had wanted to check up on his sister, but he didn't exactly know where she lived, so he couldn't do that. He considered asking a robot for directions, but he doubted if they would even give him directions. He wasn't that worried though. As much as there are loopholes in the city's rules, houses, or apartments that someone would rent is different.
Unless the person living in them gave permission, no one else but them could enter, which made them very safe, but someone could wait at the entrance until the person in question had to leave for food or something else.
Since he felt confident that no one could break into his sister's home, at least not someone on this planet, he walked to his apartment, the moonlight shining on him.
It was a weird thing. If all the planets combined, then what happened to all the moons of said planets? Well, the planet actually had several moons orbiting it, and some of them were locked in their place, meaning that they would stay in the same position in the sky.
There were over a thousand moons orbiting the planet, but they were so spaced out that there was a low chance they would hit each other, but in the rare case that they did, it would be a cool sight for the beings below.
Tai arrived in his apartment after a few minutes and jumped into bed. He was tired, and he almost died today.
Placing his hand on his chest, above his heart, he could feel the darkness that had merged with it, forever a part of him. While laying down, he questioned if he was still human...

"Ahhh, Jake, my son!" a woman exclaimed, hugging Jake, who had knocked on the door.
"Hi, mom. How have you been?" Jake replied, returning the hug as he was bombarded with kisses on his cheeks.
"Fine, alright, dear. Please come in, come in," she said, releasing him from her embrace and stepping to the side to let him in.
Jake walked into his house, his true childhood house, the one that he had really grown up in. He walked to the living room, and sat on the couch, getting himself comfortable. "It's still just as I remember it."
Jake and his family were a humanoid race, and looked very similar to humans, with an exception. They had long ears that resembled the elves in fiction. Of course, on his time on Earth, his physical body was changed to blend in with its residents, meaning that his ears were changed and some of the features on his face.
"Want anything, dear? Also, do you want me to call you by Jake or your real name? I know some people who get sent to seed universes in secret get used to their identity."
"No, I'm fine. Maybe water? You can call me whatever you want, mom, I don't mind."
Jake's mom nodded as he grabbed a glass and filled it up with water, and handing it to him.
"I guess I'll call you Jake, then. It's a foreign name isn't it, and it's fun to say, dear. Jake," she said, giggling a bit.
Jake laughed a bit. His mom definitely wasn't your typical mom, but he guessed that happens with old age since his mom was going to celebrate her 5th century birthday soon.
"So how was your time on Earth, was it?"
Jake took a sip of his water. "It was cool, and I kind of miss it. Made a friend there, but I won't be able to meet up with him again until 6 months have passed."

"Yes, that is a shame. What's his name, dear? Once 6 months have passed, I could issue an order that I'm personally protecting your friend there."
"Tai, and no, it's fine. I'm sure he can survive by himself, and he also has that last name, Zenith. What do you think, mom?"
Zenith was the last name of someone that was irregular. He rose to power shortly after the Great War which took over a billion lives, quickly becoming the top name of the Aether Universe and feared by many. He defeated many beings, even the God Zeus, and the God Odin had also stayed out of his way, implying that he was as strong, if not stronger, but just as quickly he grew in power, he just as quickly disappeared.
No one still knows what happened, but that person suddenly disappeared, and no one still knows where he went.
"Tsk, dear, no... No offense to your friend, dear, but I just don't see someone in a primitive universe to be related to that man, but who knows..."
Jake nodded. Right, someone needed the system's permission to go to a seed universe, and most people knew that that man defied the system.
"Well, what happened to Ara, and Vamir?"
"Ara is off with his thug boyfriend," she said, a tone of disgust in her voice. "I swear, she's going to get herself killed hanging out with the wrong people. Vamir is exploring the universe and says that he's close to finding a mythical beast. Can you believe it? They left their dear old mom all alone, but at least I have you, dear"
Jake let out a laugh. Ara running off with his thug boyfriend was very like her, but he wasn't worried as she always had a secret group of bodyguards following her, and Vamir is still looking for that mythical beast he said that's as big as a planet.
"Feels good to be home."

8 212Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!

8 121Chasing the Hurricane
There was once an Empire that stood here. The Clawscar Empire. For centuries they were the dominating power of the lands of the west. However, one night, suddenly, the old, rotting order was swept away by a mysterious storm that left as quickly as it came. The people who lived to see it called it the Ghost Hurricane. Years have passed since the hurricane's rampage. Now, a young man prepares to make his trek across the Empire's Corpse, hoping to learn the truth of things... Note: Has nothing to do with the ongoing Magic Knight Saga, also written by me.
8 158This is a My Hero Academia fan fiction. This character is not in the anime she is of my own creation. I wanted to create something original so I came up with this. A girl, not knowing what here past wakes up in a unfamiliar place. A brother who she never has met and a world she never knew Existed. With many twist and turns she finds out the truth about her forgotten past that she never would have thought of. Also there is a little abuse and drinking involved with the plot so be aware of that and also there is a death too. Little Manga Spoilers if MHA too. ☺️
