《The Aether Universe》Chapter 28

"After all, what if you say, slapped someone's back, would that be considered violence? Well, the cities don't consider that violence. Why? Because the other person didn't resist," the man explained.
"As long as the other person doesn't resist, you can do anything you want," the man continued, emphasizing the word, anything. "That's why the robots did not confront me when I made your sister sleep over there."
As he was explaining, Tai was taking in the information. If all that's needed is resistance, then doesn't that mean that he could just kill the man in front of him fast enough so he wouldn't resist?
The man laughed. "I know what you're thinking, but it's not going to work. The cities don't like murder, and they will detect murder, resistance or not, also, knocking me out won't do either. If you really want to make sure that your sister stays safe, just follow me."
Tai let out a growl, but there was nothing he could do, or was there? The man said that knocking him out wouldn't work, but what if he did it fast enough for him to not react? Resistance was vague. What if he just didn't want to get knocked out, and that would be considered as resistance, either way, he wasn't sure, so he decided to play it safe.
"Fine."
The man turned around and started heading to the closest entrance from where they were, and pulled out a radio. "We're heading to the north-west gate."
As Tai followed the man, he was carrying Anna in his arms. He looked around to see if there was anyone else, but he couldn't see anyone. Even though he saw no one, he was almost sure that there were other people, or else how would the person in front of him be so confident?

Closing his eyes as he walked, he channeled his ki and extended it around his area. The ki that he had extended was invisible, unseen from the naked eye, and Tai was using it kind of how a bat would use sound to see its surroundings.
From his left on top of a roof was a person, behind him was another, and there were two to his right that he had just passed.

Tai obviously knew what the man wanted to do. He had heard what he said on the radio and guessed that they wanted him to leave the city to possibly kill him since murder wasn't allowed in the city.
Well, he definitely won't just stand there and be killed, but what would he do about his sister? She was his biggest liability.
Arriving at the city gate, the man told him to leave the city and that he would take care of his sister. Tai wasn't crazy, he wouldn't just leave his sister here, especially when she was unconscious and couldn't show resistance.
He also couldn't take her with him out of the city since leaving the city needed one's own permission, and she couldn't exactly give that since she was unconscious, so Tai got an amazing idea.
Tai looked around and called a robot drone over for help.
"What are you doing? The robot can't help you, I haven't done anything that it considers violence," the man asked, visibly confused.
"Oh, I'm not calling it for that." When the drone arrived in front of him, he asked the drone if it could take his sister to her home because she was lost and couldn't move.
The robot agreed and grabbed his sister using a technology that Tai was clueless about.

When the man saw this, his face turned sour because he didn't think of that, but since his face was covered, Tai couldn't see his expressions.
"Now..." Tai cracked his fingers and stretched his legs. "Let's get this over with, huh?"
Upon leaving the city, he was greeted by a tall man, much taller than him. The man was wearing a UEE uniform, but not the same as all the soldiers that he had seen before. This man was obviously in a higher position than normal foot soldiers. He had a katana by his side, as he stared at Tai.
"You must be Tai Zenith."
"I thought that the UEE worked for the people? Why would you blackmail me into coming here by putting my sister to sleep?" Tai asked in an angry tone.
"Because you're above me in the level rankings. Now, I can't let that happen, can I?"
Tai's face turned sour. All this just because he overtook him on the leaderboard? "So you're that Berthold guy, huh. Well, after this, you won't even be on the leaderboard."
Tai was serious. If anyone threatened his family, they wouldn't get away with it easily. He was planning to destroy him.
Berthold chuckled. "You think that just because you're a few levels higher than me that you are better? We'll see about that."
Taking out his katana, Berthold surrounded it with his ki. Like Tai, his primary energy source was ki, but unlike Tai's ki, his ki was white.
Tai formed his naginata and watched as Berthold charged at him with a smug face. Using Berthold's shadow, he made chains extend from it and bind him.
"What was all that tough talk about?" Tai slowly approached him, his naginata becoming darker and darker. It was so dark that even the bright light from inside the city was having a hard time entering Tai's area.
Berthold struggled in the chains, but they didn't budge. "You forced me to do this..."
Berthold covered himself with his ki, his strength becoming stronger and stronger. The chains creaked as they were bent until finally, they broke.

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.
8 173The apocalypse happened and it was named- The system’s advent
The world either ended or it began when the system came online. People can now be immortal and the laws of reality are intertwined with what the people of earth know as RPG game systems. All of this and yet it is only the begining. What is in store for humanity when everything they thought was just smoke and mirrors turns out to be as real as they are and far more deadly. One man went back in time because of an event that shouldn't be possible to a place he had forgotten. For him it was a chance at redemption for a life he is ashamed of. It was a chance to make things right with the people he couldn't face before it was too late to say sorry. A changed man will attempt to defy logic that he doesn't even realize exists. He tried to be the dashing rogue and failed, he tried for the overbearing shield bearer and was worse than useless, he tried to be the rightous paladin and not even the dark gods would accept him. The only path left was the 'weakest' of them all. Ok so alot of you probably reading this are people who have read my previous works and I can only say 'thank you for your incredible patience' so much before it gets awkward but for those you who don't know this is my third story and no I haven't dropped the other two it's just that tragedy struck when I was writing them and I haven't been able to get my motivation for them back yet so I'm trying this as essentially a jump start to get back into the fight so to speak. I'm really hopefull that I can pull this story off the way I want it to be but only time will tell so here's to hoping, now let's get this show started.

A phenomenon takes the world by storm and its up to society to decide what the new meaning of power is.
