《The Aether Universe》Chapter 2

Tai watched as Jake disappeared in a flash of light. "Jake?"
Tai looked around and tried to find Jake, but it was no point. Jake was long gone, but Tai knew that he wasn't dead. Jake wouldn't just die like that, he must've been taken somewhere, but he knew that they would meet up eventually.
Realizing that Jake was gone and that there was no point trying to find him, or at least for now, Tai decided to deal with the new messages in front of him.
Tai looked at the message in front of him. It looked straight out of fiction and the web novels he read. "What does it mean by, your world is being combined with other worlds?"
Tai walked out of his front porch into the road in front of him to see if anything has changed. Looking around his street, he saw that the houses were moving apart, trees that he'd never seen before appearing where the house was.
The ground was moving slowly, moving the things that were on it, but over time, it sped up as unusual and alien landscapes appeared. Purple grass and trees, plants that would release bubbles.
As Tai looked around, he received another message.
You have learned the skill: Analyze
+1 status point.
Seeing that he gained a status point, Tai tried to bring up his status.
The moment he thought of bringing up his status, it showed up, displaying all of his stats.
Level: 2 Health: 160/160 Mana: 130/130 Ki: 150/150 Chakra: 108/108 Strength:14(+) Dexterity: 20(+) Endurance:16(+) Intelligence: 13(+) Status Points: 1
Tai looked at his status, nodding his head. His highest stat was Dexterity, which made sense, and his lowest stat was Intelligence, which also made sense. At school, he wasn't exactly the smartest. but he was passing.

Tai decided to save his 1 status point and closed his status. He turned around to go back inside his house and tell his mom and Anna what happened but found himself in the middle of nowhere.
While Tai was busy looking in his status, the Earth had continued growing, still not finished as it continued assimilating with other planets, easily growing to the size of Jupiter.
Tai was surrounded by a large desert that looked like it went on forever, never reaching an end. There were large sand dunes in the distance and he even saw some small creatures popping out of the sand and going back in.
"HELLO!" Tai yelled out, seeing if there was anyone out there. He continued yelling as he started walking in a straight direction, heading to a tree he saw in the distance. He figured that if there are trees, then there might just be water there too. "IS ANYONE OUT THERE?!"
His yelling could be heard by no one, well... no human that is. Stalking Tai from behind was a creature that looked similar to that of a mole rat and a tiger combined. Its skin blended in with the sand in the desert as it continued following Tai, licking its sharp teeth as it anticipated its next meal.
The rat and tiger hybrid had never seen a creature like Tai, but it didn't care. In the desert, it was the apex predator. Carefully, with each step, it became closer and closer to Tai, only a few meters away from him now.
Meanwhile, the unaware Tai continued walking, not realizing the danger he was at. He wiped the sweat on his forehead with his shirt. Looking at the tree in the distance, Tai couldn't help but think that he should've reached it by now. It didn't look that far. "What the hell? Is this thing moving away from me?"

As he kept walking, his eyes opened wide at the realization. "Shit, it is moving away from me."
He was right, the planet was still growing, meaning that land was still moving as it made way for new alien land.
Tai started jogging at a fast pace, trying to keep up with the planet that was growing so fast. "Ughh, this is still too slow. I need to go faster."
Tai was about to speed up when he felt a sharp pain on his leg. He fell down on the ground as he turned to look at his attacker, the rat tiger hybrid. "What the fuck are you?"
The creature licked its sharp fangs, eager to dig into its prey.
Tai tried crawling away from the creature, but it was impossible. It bit his leg again, breaking his bones and causing him to scream in pain.
You have learned the skill: Pain Resistance
+1 status point
There was nothing he could do. His leg was broken, all he could do was sit there and let himself be eaten.
Pain Resistance has leveled up
+1 status point
Notification after notification, his Pain Resistance went up, giving him status points. Over time, the pain went away as the creature continued chewing on his leg, tearing it off of him, making him scream at the feeling of his leg being ripped off.
"FUUUUUCK!! I WILL NOT DIE HERE!" Tai opened up his status, determined to kill the creature in front of him.
Level: 34 Health: 43/160 Mana: 130/130 Ki: 150/150 Chakra: 108/108 Strength:14(+) Dexterity: 20(+) Endurance:16(+) Intelligence: 13(+) Status Points: 33
Using all of his status points, he put them all on strength, bringing up his total strength to 47. Tai felt his strength increase. He felt like he could destroy a concrete wall, but he was still not out of danger. Right now, the creature still thinks that he is harmless, he just needs to find the right opportunity, so he waited, and waited.
Tai watched as the creature finished eating his leg, spitting out his bones on the ground. Wanting some more, the creature approached him, this time it was going to take a bite of his head, but he wasn't going to let that happen.
It crept closer and closer until its mouth, which reeked, was right above his head. Opening its mouth to bite his head, its saliva dripped down on his face.
Deciding that this was the right moment, Tai raised his right arm and punched the creature's face, sending it rolling to the right, knocked out cold.
Tai began laughing like a maniac. "How do you like that, you bitch? Thought you were invincible, huh?"
He dragged his body to the creature, which was still knocked out from his punch. When he arrived at the creature, he started punching its head over, and over, and over again.
The creature was long dead, but he kept punching and punching. As he kept punching, a red aura appeared on his fist.

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
