Chapter 0155
Everyone knows how much of a miser Tempest is. She never tried to hide any part of her personality.
It is not known how much of a glutton Tempest is. Tempest herself doesn’t know. Her mother can’t cook and hospital food sucks. There is no getting around it. No matter how they addressed the matter, no matter how pretty they tried to make it, it is the honest truth - hospital food sucks.
American junk food isn’t the greatest. After two days of not getting a bite to eat because the stupid siblings decided to buy marijuana with food money, anything is delicious.
The best meal - now the second best meal - but the best meal Tempest had back on Earth was a fat juicy burger made in a down in the dumps diner at the corner of 12th and Kings Street. Tempest can still remember the quarter pounder beef cooked medium rare and filled with juice. The bun was cooked on the grill, giving it a layer of grease and an extra taste that made the whole thing hamburger heaven. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were delicious and the cheese was melted-your-mouth right. The flavors burst into Tempest’s mouth and she savored the burger like one of those hamburgers eating models in a commercial.
Oh, it was so good.
The only other food experience Tempest had that can top that was the time Xing Zhi Hui gave her that roast. Sex is overrated. Food is where it is at! Good food can satisfy you better than a man can. Let it be noted, Tempest never had sex so take her judgment with a grain of salt.
Then life happened and Tempest didn’t get the chance to eat a good meal since.
Tempest is hungry.
To the thieves who's been stealing from her, Tempest gave no quarter. She slithered out from under Li Ming and launched herself at Hannah Tellis with spells on the ready.
Wind Blade.
Vibrating Wind Blade.
Ice Bolt.
Spiral Ice Bolt.

Tempest had enough sense to cast only wind and water spells. Tempest shot spells one after another, all aimed at Hannah Tellis.
Giggles. “Die, Hannah, die!” Tempest giggled as she aimed at Hannah Tellis’ vitals. Each spell was powered to kill. As the mana flowed through her body, Tempest felt a sense of elation.
Freedom.
The mana stored in her body finally has an outlet.
Tempest knew something was wrong with her. The last time she killed in succession was when she ran away from the entrapment the bandits set to steal the Brilliant Yin Sect Disciple Token. She rapidly cast spells one after another, like she was a machine gun spitting out bullets. Back then, she was still in control of her senses. She had a keen sense of her surroundings. Her senses were heightened beyond the range of normal humans, but her actions were her own.
Now, she was using a massive amount of mana to fight Hannah Tellis and her group. Instead of experiencing an increased sense of awareness, Tempest’s senses were dull. It was like she was buzzed. Yes! Buzzed. She was buzzed off the mana but not in control of her actions.
And like all drunks, she didn’t care. She was going to kill Hannah Tellis. The little thief has stolen too much from her. Tempest wasn’t going to take it lying down.
Sadly, like the last time they fought, Tempest had to retreat.
Bei Ting Mao cast Stone Wall, blocking the attacks from Hannah Tellis’ group while Fenix and Graden grabbed Tempest and pulled her 10 meters away. This time, the duo was able to restrain Tempest.
They knew Tempest meant what she said. She was really going to kill Hannah Tellis. They didn’t care if Tempest killed Hannah Tellis. They didn’t want to kill Hannah Tellis in front of a bunch of witnesses.
Li Ming and Starm were standing to the side to support Bei Ting Mao. Although Li Ming was fighting with Tempest earlier, their fight was a fight between group members. Both Li Ming and Tempest knew how to hold back. They have their differences and their own points of views but they knew what it means to be a group. They will fight each other like cats and dogs but against an outsider, they will present a united front.

Starm wanted to annihilate them all. He could do it if he was willing to pay the price. They weren’t worth it before. They just might be worth it now. Anyone who aggravates his Big Sis Tempest to this extent deserves death. They were lucky they stole Graden’s cooking. Starm didn’t like it when his Big Sis Tempest praises another person aside from him. He couldn’t do anything to Graden. The guy was too gentle and sensible for Starm to hold a grudge against him. He can ruin the food Graden cook, except he hasn’t thought of a way to do it without anger his Big Sis Tempest in the process.
Even though they inadvertently help him out, they still anger his Big Sis Tempest. They deserve a beating.
As for Tempest, she was wailing, “My food, my delicious food,” in the background and crying her heart out.
Graden stuff Tempest mouth with leftover trail rations he made a while back. Tempest pounced on the food in Graden’s hand. It might not be the roast meat she was salivating over but it still is delicious food.
Once he saw Tempest was munching on the food, he went over to settle the fighting. He gave the two supports a glare that said he’d settle things with them later and order Bei Ting Mao to withdraw.
“Thieves are getting bolder and bolder now. They even dare to steal the food right out of our mouths.” Graden threw the blame squarely on Hannah Tellis’ group. They couldn’t deny it either. They did eat the food he was cooking.
“You shouldn’t have left the food alone then. I was merely saving it from being burnt.” Hannah Tellis countered.
“Food burned under the hands of a fire mage, really now? Only inept fire mages have no control over their spells and the Eternal Spirit Guild does not keep inept mages. Those who got in through the backdoor won’t stay long in the guild.” Graden smiled genially. Bei Ting Mao shivered, and it wasn’t because Graden was close to him after he heard of Tempest’s insinuation.
There was an old hunter who lived in the back mountains of his home. Like all villagers, the old man hunted animals and low-level magical beasts that roam the mountains. Bei Ting Mao was strangely fond of the old man and sneaked out to meet him despite the warning of his family until he saw the old man fight off a team of assassins without breaking a sweat.
There were nine assassins. The old man had already killed six. The three remaining assassins fought like a cornered mouse, desperately. The old man dodged or parried each swing of their blade with little effort and easily killed the remaining assassins.
Bei Ting Mao wasn’t afraid of the old man. Cultivators kill each other all the time. It’s what happened next that scared the then little boy. The old man proceeded to search the bodies for money and when he didn’t find any he decided to earn some by carving up the bodies and selling it in the black market like they were nothing more than a pig he slaughtered.
Bei Ting Mao still remember the calm, serene smile the old man had back then. It was the same smile Graden was sporting right now.
Hannah Tellis, that fool, didn’t realize she angered a scheming mad man when she gloatingly said, “Luck is also a strength of a cultivator, mages more so than most considering our cultivation are based completely on the whims of our spirits.”
“Intelligence, endurance, and perseverance are more important than luck. These traits show the true mettle of a cultivator. We will withdraw for now.”
