Chapter 0080
“Are you sure he’s the one I’m looking for?” Tempest asked for the umpth time.
Yes.
“Are you really really sure?” Tempest asked again.
Yes.
“I don’t get it. How can this… this… this manwhore be the legendary Son of Volcano you are talking about.” Tempest indication the gorgeous red hair man that was flirting with the candy vendor right in the middle of the city in broad daylight.
Tempest might understand if the vendor was a beautiful young woman or a woman with a mature charm, or heck, for that matter an innocent young teen. The target of the red head flirting were none of those right now. The candy vendor is an old lady bearing the mark of time with fines lines around the eyes and mouth, sagging skin and breast though Tempest can’t say due to her attire. Her hands also attest to her age as well.
Woman back on Earth pay attention to their face. They buy creams and undergo procedure to make them look younger, but most rarely pay attention to the state of their hands. Tempest learn to judge a woman’s age by the state of their hands rather than their face.
Old lady candy vendor has gnarled hands due to arthritis and the intricate work creating those bright red candies made out of what resembles cherrie back on Earth.
The candy is bright red, covered with a fine layer of what seems to be powdered sugar and honey. The cherries are big and plump, the honey glistening with sweetness and the sugars shining brighter than diamonds in the sun.
Tempest stared longingly at the candy in the old lady’s hand, forgetting her target together as she drooled over the no doubt yummy deliciousness being sold.
You can stop staring. He already left.
“Yeah, yeah. He didn’t go far.” Tempest was correct in her assessment. Her target didn’t go far. He went three stalls down to present the six year old girl with the candy he promise to buy her. While he was at it, he didn’t forget to flirt with the kid and extracted a promise from her to never forget him. When the little girl’s mother came by to check on her daughter, the shameless man flirted with her too.

Tempest realize her assumption of this world is horrible wrong. The people of the Cardinal Realm or maybe just the people of the Magus Alliance are crazy as hell.
The man she has been stalking for the last three days is supposed to be the legendary mage, Cardis Gourd, Son of Volcanoes, possessing the affinities for wind, fire and earth.
He overcame his tribulation to become an immortal, or as some calls it a celestial, thousands of years ago. He later challenge the power of the sects in the Heavenly Mountains and drove them out of the Magus Alliance, shaping the Magus Alliances to what it has become today. Later, he led all of the cultivators in the Cardinal Realm to fight against the Devils in the thousand year war and consistently won.
Bards sings stories of feats and bravery while scholar laud his accomplishments. Everywhere Tempest went in the Magus Alliance, the name Cardis Gourd was the gold standards of everyone, mortals or cultivators.
She’d expect this legendary cultivator to be a somewhat elderly scholar with a powerful aura he tamped down to prevent harm from befalling the weak. He should be elegant, gentle, kind, strong and righteous or something of heroic mean.
Instead, she got a manwhore who would flirt with anyone in a skirt, from a three year old child to an eighty year old grandma, from a weak mortal to a powerful cultivator, from a woman to a man. Yes the red head flirted with a man dressed in a long silken robes favored by the cultivator of the Heavenly Mountains. His argument was the robe resembled a skirt therefore, the cultivator had to be female. The obviously male cultivator chased Cardis down several streets but stopped after exchanging several blows.
It wasn’t the first time Tempest saw him being chased. Irate fathers chase the bastard when he flirted with their daughters and irate husbands chase him when he flirted with their wives.

Regardless of how he behaves, he is a powerful man.
“He has to be or he’d be dead from all the male aggro he’s pulling.”
There are other candidate suitable to be your teacher if you can’t tolerate Cardis’ personality.
“No time. I only have four months to find a suitable backer and earn the money to redeem my sisters. I already wasted three days coming to this city and another three days stalking the guy. I don’t want to waste any more time. Even though he flirts with everything that moves, I’ll have to admit, he hasn’t done anything to them.” Tempest was reluctant to admit it. The guy might be the most outrageous flirt she’d ever seen, but he doesn’t do anything aside from flirting.
You have a total of 121 days to redeem them before the karma between you and them ends.
“Are you sure it was four months and not one month. I only remember spending one month with them.”
You were secretly sedated for the majority of the time you were there. They also sedate you guys to move you to another located when the first one was compromised. You spent 121 days together, so you have 121 days to alter the karma between you and them.
“Karma and fate sucks.” Tempest had no choice. She straighten her spine and approach one the most handsome man she’d ever seen in both her lifetime.

Cardis Gourd.
Cardis Gourd was the name he’d taken after he fully became a mage.
Before being Cardis Gourd he was merely a pawn used by the immortals at the time to control the fate of a woman who was prophesied to destroy the world.
After much backstabbing, betrayal, love, hatred and misunderstanding, the young man became the Cardis Gourd of today.
He doesn’t have many enemies now, but back then almost everyone, including his the woman he thought was his mother, tried to kill him. He lived. He lived and got his revenge.
The little inept spying done by a cute black hair girl was simply laughable compared to the method they used back then when he was still on the run.
It was interesting to watch the little girl’s expression from the corner of his eyes every time he flirted. There were many times which he wanted to burst out laughing from the surprise look on her face or the look of absolute loathing the shows. Her puzzle expression was also adorable. He decided to spend a few days teasing his little stalker before confronting her. He hasn’t had so much fun in years.
Ah here she comes. Is she going for the lost little girl approach? He wants to see her act like a pathetic little brat, lost and alone in the world with no one to rely but a handsome stranger who takes her in and then she dedicates the rest of her life to repaying the debt of gratitude.
“Hello Mr. Cardis Gourd. I would like a moment of your time.”
So she went with the confident approach. Well, it would be impolite of him not to oblige.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

The story focuses heavily on themes of guilt, personal failing, and penance. The conflict revolves around two main concepts: Man vs. Himself (Internal conflict) and Man vs Man (External conflict). The internal conflicts focus on many of the characters' inner demons and how each of them deal with the scars of the past.
