Chapter 0070
There was a large stage set up at the center of the building surrounded by tables on the first floors, private rooms on the second floor and third floor. Eight lithe dancers sway to the music in elaborate costume, showcasing their skills and flexibility while arousing the interest of the customers.
Tempest had no interest to the hustle and bustle once she smells the amazing aroma of spicy grilled fished, roast suckling pig and freshly grilled steak marinated in a light brown sauce each waiter was carrying to the private room.
“Ah food.”
“The building has one main entrances 60 meters to your left, a side entrance leading to the kitchen 25 meters to your right. The staircase in front of you leads to second and third floor.” the redhead explained the layout.
Tempest could have told her to save her breath. She was too entrance by the sight and smell of good food, she completely ignored the redhead beside her. What entrance, what exit? Who cares. Right now her stomach is in charge and it is leading her towards the delicacies placed before her.
“Hurry and leave.” the redhead pinches the girl next to her for good measure.
Tempest disdain addicts. She’d seen her fair share of druggies lying, cheating, stealing or doing whatever it takes to get their next fix. Their thought process was unfathomable to Tempest. The need to mentally escape their problems was boggling because the problem still exists after they take the drugs. Drugs do nothing but numb the pain. It doesn’t solve the problem.
Except now she’s acting worse than the addicts she disdain as she followed the waiter carrying a succulent looking chicken cooked to a tender crispy texture, drizzled in golden honey sauce.
She was not appreciative when the redhead grabbed her shoulders, knocking her out of her mesmerized state.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m hungry.” As if to emphasized her point, her stomach grumbled.
“Go eat at a different place. This place isn’t safe for you.” the redhead cautioned.
“But I’m hungry now.” Tempest kept her attention on the food the entire time she was speaking to the redhead, so she didn’t notice the redhead being called away by a busy waiter needing an extra hand.

“Food. Food. Food. Food. Food. Food.” Tempest thought as she followed the waiter to busy kitchen.
The hungry Tempest loitered in a secluded spot in the kitchen, watching the chef cook their masterpieces. Everyone was too busy to notice a small girl standing near the entrance until they needed to send out the meal.
“What are you standing there for? Hurry and take the Seven Herb Spicy Grilled Fish to room 23.” an irate chef handed Tempest the heavy plate and shoo her towards the door.
Tempest won’t refuse the Seven Herb Spicy Grilled Fish delivered straight to her mouth. Instead of delivering the meal, Tempest found a secluded spot to gobble the meal down. Never once did Tempest thought about paying for the Seven Herb Spicy Grilled Fish. She has truly turned into the addict she disdained before.
Of course the day didn’t start well for Tempest isn’t going to end well for Tempest either. Her peace and quiet were disturbed by a rich young fop making a pass at an elaborately dressed blond hair girl.
“Please forgive me for not serving you sir, but I have to get ready for my performance.” the blond said with a cute voice and a bashful manner, her pale skin blushing a gentle pink under the man’s attention. She didn’t seem like she was in a hurry to go anywhere.
“No need to be coy my little beauty. I’m sure they won’t mind if you miss a performance of two if this young master has a word with them.” The self-proclaimed young mastered moved to kiss the blond woman in his arm but she avoided the kiss by ducking her head. The young master end up kissing the blond’s forehead instead of her lips.
The blond began to pout in an adorable manner then immediately complained, “You don’t know how mean Madam Vyan is. If I am even a second late, she will dock my pay and scold me for an hour. Sometimes she’d even make an example of me by having the servants beat me for no reason at all. I don’t want to get on her bad side.”
“The name Li Feng still has some clout in this city. Tell Madam Vyan you were with me. I will sort her out if she comes troubling you.”

Indeed, everyone knows the playboy Li Feng, although highly talented, is a lazy good for nothing second young master of the Li clan who runs amok due to his family background. His mother is the beloved granddaughter of an elder in the Hidden Sword Sect, the 3rd strongest sect in the Heavenly Mountains while his father is an elder in the Li clan the ninth largest clan in the Heavenly Mountains. His older brother is a rare cultivator born with fire and wood heavenly spirit vein. He is destined to a be a high level alchemist. No one wants to offend a potential high-level alchemist, especially a mortal living in a small town at the border of the Magus Alliance.
It would have been different if Li Feng was despised by his clan and was banished to the small town, but he actually heavily doted upon by his family. He came to the small town to get away from the false flattery and infighting of the clan.
Another fact known to all is the notoriously short attention span Li Feng has. What he promises one day, he might forget the next. It isn’t that he make false promises. He meant what he said at the time. Promises to little pleasure workers aren’t important enough for him to remember.
Therefore, the blond might act coquettishly, but she takes his words as empty boasting.
“Young master Li, you told my good friend Rever Wolims the exact same thing yesterday. You didn’t see come entertain you today because Madam Vyan didn’t believe her and had her beaten yesterday. I dare not take the chance.” the blond said in a cutesy voice, placing all the blame to this Madam Vyan.
“This Madam Vyan has big guts to dare defy this young master. Come, I’d personally go find justice for the little beauty Rever.” Once the subject was brought up, Li Feng had to make right on his promise or his prestige in the city might drop and his words are taken as written on air.
His words are taken as written on air, but no one will say it to his face.
There is an art to eavesdropping. The eavesdropper should be as silent as possible, be inconspicuous as possible and know when to leave.
Tempest acted more like a movie goer rather than a silent sneak. She sat down in a good spot to see the show, ate her food without a concern in the world and when the darling couple made a move to leave, Tempest didn’t move out of her chosen spot, which is right in the direction the two love birds were heading.
Young master Li Feng was surprise when he saw Tempest eating a meal and enjoying the show. Very few people dare to openly eavesdrop on his conversation with a little beauty while the blond was peeved her planned was derailed.
When Tempest looked up, Li Feng was mesmerized by her clear, innocent black eyes. The owner of the eyes looks at the world with a bright and pure gaze. It make anyone want to shelter her from the darker side of humanity.
“I’d say little sister, could you move so we can go through?” the blond asked in a sweet voice. She saw how the young master was staring at the newcomer, and she didn’t like the feeling one bit. She wasn’t jealous. She was… worried?
Tempest looked at the long corridor big enough to fit four people abreast then turned to look at her little table off to the side with a confused expression as if to say, “There is plenty of room. How am I blocking your way?”
The blond wanted the little girl out of her sight as fast as possible. “Young master Li, I’m sorry, I have to prepare for my performance. Madam Vyan…” She gently tugged at Li Feng’s sleeve while acting indecisive and scared.
Tempest thought the act was too fake. There are better C-list actors in Hollywood better than the blond. She didn’t want any part in the little drama. She got off the hard stone stool, dusted off her pants and was about to make a clean getaway. Tempest remembered she never paid for the food, and she didn’t want to get caught red handed.
Until a certain young master blocked her way.
What crappy luck!
