《Magical Girl Gang Wars(Reboot)》Chapter 28 - Out of the Gate

Deep breaths. You’ve worked your ass off this entire month, Alex. It's time to earn that meatloaf.
Scanning the area while her thoughts ran wild, Alex got a lay of the land and found a particular tall tree near here. Letting the numbers run she followed along a simulation, climbing up the tree by swinging her body up the sixty meter tree. Soon standing on top of the tree, gazing down, she stared at her bandaged hands before clenching them.
I have gotten stronger. The past me wouldn’t have had the physical ability and the dexterity to do this with such ease. The fire style and numbers really pushed me to a level that I would never achieve before becoming a magical girl. But, there are still stronger people in this examination. I need to play this smart, or fail.
Taking the backpack off, Alex unzipped one of the sides and pulled out some binoculars, using them to scan the area. The area had a few mountainous areas that didn’t seem natural to her in creation, with the treeline not making any sense.
Must have terraformed the land to make it more interesting. I should find a river in order to refill my canteen as needed... Now, where did they place… There it is.
To the west, a bit of a distance away, there was a river flowing through the land, traveling from north to south with bends going through it.
Lucky stars, I can move to the next order of business, then. Time to scout and hunt the competition.
Running the numbers for trajectories, Alex leapt off the tree branch, falling for a bit before catching a tree branch and swinging off, using a vine to swing onto another tree, pulling off a good show of free running on the top of the trees, moving at a good pace.
Heh... bet I could get Olympic gold if they didn’t bar magical girls from joining.
A fun wishful thought, as her eyes scanned the ground floor, while she jumped from tree to tree, as agile as a cat, heading in the direction of the river. Eventually, as she was about to reach her target, she finally spotted someone.

Stopping dead silent, she used the tree brush as cover to examine her. Pulling out the binoculars, she got a close up of the girl's face, and ran it in her database that her numbers created.
She’s not on the list of rankers and isn’t on my friendlies profile. She also isn’t wearing a black armband that would show our group support. Is she… Yup, she is wearing the hair clip designating her as a Morderca Gang supporter.
Assessment: Take her out.
Clenching and unclenching her fists, she silently moved along the canopy, stalking the unaware girl moving towards the river. Readying her knife as she closed in, right on top of her, she waited for the numbers to give her above a ninety percent success rate before jumping off.
Right onto the girl's back, making her fall to the ground before slitting the girl's throat and knocking the shit out of her.
Hunt successfully completed; suggesting scanning the area for other potential threats before looting.
A message appeared in head and Alex didn’t dwell on it, as she scanned the area around her.
Opening her senses as her numbers pulsed along the land, they kept showing low danger of being ambushed. With no threats nearby, Alex rifled through the girl's backpack and along her body. She found a glock-19, three empty mags, pistol belt, bag of drugs, dozen throwing knives with belt, 100ft of rope, two vials of strange potions, a canteen, and her tag.
A pretty good haul, if Alex had to say so herself, and as she stood, a flash of white light appeared on her location, along with nine other different colored ones in different directions.
Really? I’m one of the first to attack? What shit luck...
Frowning, Alex waited ten seconds for the light to pass, before heading for a direction. Deciding to finish packing her backpack with the items she gathered first. When it faded, she immediately made it to the trees, and used the canopy to cover herself once again. It took only a minute before four girls showed up underneath her.
She studied that they had come together, and wore silver hairpins in their hair.
Hmmm... how did they gather so fast? Was it just luck, or something else?

Mulling over it casually, Alex listened for any information she could glean from them.
“Fuck. It’s one of ours. Which way do you think she headed?” One of the girls wearing plain clothes asked one girl in tribal wear.
The exotic girl, with many bones in her hair, scanned the area.
“It looks like she was attacked from behind, so must have been stalking her. But none of the nearby foliage seems to be disturbed, so it was quick. Beside ours and hers, there is no trail, meaning she must have traveled back through her trail or…”
“Or wha—” Before the girl could finish her sentence between the four of them a grenade shaped item was dropped from the sky.
“Granad—!” The girl tried to yell, as the grenade exploded with sound and light.
…
Alex played with the flashbang in her hand as she stared at the girls, able to hear their every word.
Nothing useful and the girl is getting wise, best to take them out now.
Calling upon the numbers, she pulled the pin and cooked the nade using them to drop it at the optimal time. Dropping the flashbang, Alex took a breath as she took out her newly acquired knives as she made to jump out of the tree, as the flash went off, with closed eyes.
She threw two knives as the girls tried to wipe their eyes and stumbled around. Hitting two girls' chests, she pulled out her machete hanging off her back and slashed down with a roar, teasing the girl, digging her electric blade through her torso from her shoulder to her groin. All while she gripped her combat knife and dug into the neck of the remaining girl.
Their screams were cut short and sweet, as Alex began to loot the passed out group, passing on from grabbing their tags first. Recovering and loading up on a dozen more knives, two more flashbangs, three smoke grenades, and a weird scroll she’ll have to check over later, she moved.
She could’ve grabbed more, but decided to cut the looting short and run now, as she suddenly sensed bloodlust coming from the east. Figuring her trap would be discovered, she took to the tree again, moving swiftly and silently through the canopy.
…
Smashing through the jungle like a force of nature, a muscled girl with Violet hair tied in a ponytail and a cool expression entered the battle scene in under a minute. She wore a tank top and combat pants with a massive sword strapped to her back, locked in place by some magical enchanted clamps.

“Missed the fight. Damn.” Mumbled Moxi, as she scanned the area in hopes of catching sight of the prey that escaped her. Finding no traces, Moxi shrugged and looked through the items scattered around and that remained in the backpacks, looting them.
“Did she sense my bloodlust? Should’ve listened to teach and learned how to control it.”
Mumbling under her breath, she stripped the remaining gear from the girls, as a teacher appeared to take them away.
“My, my, that upper middle double digit ranker really did a number on these girls. Good thing I bet on her.”
Exclaiming out loud, as she loaded her shoulder up with the girls.
“Who did this?” Moxi asked, interested in who this girl could be to take out five magical girls and seemingly escape harm.
Scratching her chin, the teacher mulled over answering. There were no rules against it, only that she couldn’t describe girls' powers to exam takers as that was an unfair advantage. And, this girl had a fair chance of making it to A rank with a bit of training, so it would be good to get in her graces. After all, contacts, connections and drugs ran the gang world.
“Her name is Alexzandra, nickname Alex, Rank 30. That’s all I can give you. Good luck, I’ll be rooting for both of you!” Putting magic in a medallion hanging from her neck, the teacher left with a thumbs up and parted away, leaving Moxi mulling over Alex’s name.
“Alex, huh? I hope they give me a good fight.”

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
