《Magical Girl Gang Wars(Reboot)》Chapter 14 - Fight for Food
Advertisement
The group of girls looked confused at one another, except for a few quick ones pulling out their machetes, such as Alex who looked at their number. She breathed a sigh of relief to read her Number, 153. They just got here and she wanted to regain her energy.
Seeing this, the other girls pulled out their blades and checked their number. Soon, two girls walked upon the rock stage waiting to receive their supplies. Spada and the other magical girls just smirked evilly as one of them picked two containers. One was a nice healthy sized container that could easily feed two, filled with a fine assortment of food. While the other container was much smaller and at best considered half a meal.
This made the two girls question what the magical girls were playing until Spada spoke up.
“The winner will get the bigger meal, and the loser will get the smaller meal. It won’t end until I say so. If you don’t fight, you won’t get your meals and will be beaten harshly. If you make the fight amusing we might throw in extra rations. Fail to amuse us and you will also lose your rations. Now, fight!”
Seven’s eyes sharpened and she put herself into a fighting stance. Her long black hair flowing in the air, and her black eyes serious, she rushed forward and went for the first strike. Thirty-nine had short orange hair and smiling eyes that made her seem like a fox. She wasn’t startled by hercharge, and calmly dogged her attack, countering by shoving her knee into Seven's stomach.
Having knocked the air out of her breath Thirty-nine was not done, grabbing the black-haired girl's long hair and smashing her knee into her face. Her confident smile turned to a frown when she didn’t hear the sound of bones breaking.
Seven had blocked the knee with her hands, and then bit Thirty-nine’s leg, making her howl in pain loosen her grip on Seven’s hair. Seven had recovered her breath somewhat, and smashed her shoulder into Thirty-nine’s stomach, pushing her back and allowing for some space.
Within that space, Seven wanted to keep the advantage, and charged at Thirty-nine once more, wishing to cave in the girl's face. Thirty-Nine blocked Seven’s attack by grabbing her arm and throwing her behind by rolling on her back.
Alex's eyes opened wide in shock at how well the girls were fighting. She just assumed magical fighting with magic instead of hand to hand combat.
As if sensing Alex’s questioning gaze, Loka whispered, “Don’t worry, those two are exceptions as they are from magical girl families. Heh, the teachers just want to scare us with this kind of tactic. Bringing out the Knife Knife Gang’s Head's Daughter and the bastard niece of the Zodiac’s Gang’s Head... They have been trained well. I’m itching to trample them, since they seem like good opponents.”
Looking at the fight seriously, Alex noticed something, then frowned. “That isn’t just it. They are using their powers, aren’t they?”
Loka raised a brow and snorted, “No shit, virgin. No regular human their age could move that way unless they were born monsters. Well, that isn’t far off the truth, besides, there's also their training before they had awoken to their magical girl talent.”

“Talent?”
“Just wait a bit, and you will see what I mean. Things are about to get interesting.”
The two broke away from each other as if coming to an understanding.
Whipping the blood flowing from her mouth, Seven snorted, “Guess we can’t solve it this way.”
Thirty-nine cracked her neck and replied, “Indeed. For a bastard, you can fight pretty well.”
“Tsk! Big words for a princess born with a golden spoon. Let’s end this!”
“Born from the Chained Lion, who in earth slumbers.”
“A knife that was forged in the Coldest Abyss.”
“I rule the bindings, no matter their numbers”
“I cut forth my path, in your pain contained bliss.”
“And in my wake to Chaos, Order I bring.”
“In my wake, a Sea of Frozen Corpses left.”
“I’m the Magical Girl Ruling Lion! You’re trapped in my ring!”
“I’m Magical Girl Frost Knife! Your end ain’t deft!”
The two’s bodies blazed with an aura of fire for the first line. For Seven, she had a murky dark silver color, and for Thirty-nine, a cyan one. Then, the second line increased the flaming to a blinding light, as their clothes started to transform. And when the final lines came out, the two exploded with power as their transformation became complete. Chains and fur covered Seven’s Magical Girl clothing, from head to toe, her black eyes turned green, and her mouth having grown two fangs.
Thirty-nine's transformation was that of a more traditional magical girl than Magical Girl Ruling Lion's. Her fox-like eyes opened slightly, to reveal her ice-cold colored pupils, and her hair had turned the colors white and blue. Her clothing was filled with frills colored blue, white, and black; the most interesting thing was that her body was covered in knives.
Alex would have thought it would have been pretty cool if their chant weren't so chunni. She even wanted to laugh at them for saying such cheesy lines. That is, if they didn’t give off such a terrifying pressure that weighed down on her.
Cracking their bones, the two rushed at each other once again. And shockingly, their firsts' mere movements smashed the ground of the arena in, causing cracks around them. They clashed in the air, fist against a leg, impacting each other, launching a shockwave around them.
Except for the clashes, Alex couldn’t seem to follow their movements anymore. Fists, legs, chains, and knives were flying everywhere at the brutal fight, to the point that if the magical girls didn’t cast a barrier they would've been swept up in the aftermath of the brawl.
Alex's eyes opened wide, “So this is the battle between magical girls. How destructive.”
Loka shook her head and laughed, “This isn’t a true battle between magical girls, after all, we’re blanks, not the real deal. If we were in the midst of a real magical girl battle we wouldn’t even be able to watch. Instead, we’d be blown away, or killed from the aftershock.”
The two girls discussed together, to which Sugar joined in after overhearing them talk casually. The girls around them looked at them weirdly, wondering where they had such gumption to talk about things like these so laidback.
Still while talking, they tried to keep up and watch the pair's battle. By now, blood was flying across the ground, as both of the girls were fighting unrestrained, and going seemingly to the death, Sending shockwaves with each attack that made contact, arms and legs smashing into one another as chains and knives flew around the arena.

Seven sent her chains out like whips, trying to grab the limbs of Thirty-nine, while Thirty-nine sent out her knives and pierced the holes of the chains, pinning them down to the ground. In the midst of that, she still went on the offensive with her knives, to work together with her kicks. In response to which Seven used her chains to clad her fists, to block and smash.
The two had bloodthirsty expressions, wishing to tear the other apart, yearning for each other's death. The fight was reaching new levels of intensity as the blood drenching their clothes broke away and the two spat out blood.
Seven gathered the chains into a massive fist above her head and sent it at Thirty-nine, to crush her under the weight. While Thirty-nine spread her arms, and hundreds of cold knives started to flow around her forming a sharp wall.
“Die bastard born slut!”
“Die slit-eyed bitch!”
They sent their attack out at the same time, causing dust to cover the platform making the blanks below unable to see the outcome. It was then that Spada, who was silent the whole time, lifted her hand.
“The winner of this fight is number seven!”
“Tsk, what a trap you pulled, you bastard born. It’s my loss this time.”
“Heh, it was pretty close. If we fought again I’d probably lose now that you know my trick.”
As the dust cleared, they could see that Thirty-nine was wrapped up in a coffin of chains, unable to move. Alex and co. didn’t see how she got into the position, but it seemed from their words that Seven had pulled a trick.
With her declared the winner, Seven let her opponent go and walked off the stage. They released their magical girl form to their regular clothes which were torn up. Seven received her meal and her bonus with a smile, while Thirty-nine was in a pissy mood as they went off, with the healer Incus and another magical girl going off to tend to their injuries.
Soon, another two girls were called to fight, one after another. Time passed, and although unlike the first fight, most of the girls weren't at the level of Seven and Thirty-nine. Their fights ended quite quickly. While waiting to fight, Loka thought of something after another fight ended.
“‘Hey, virgin, I wonder who you’ll be fighting. Better hope for a weakling since you lack in power, string bean.”
Alex held her head high and snorted at Loka, displeased in being called a virgin.
“Humph. I might look this way, but before heading to the city I helped my father and mother on the farm. I have some strength!”
“Number 153! Number 2! Come forth and fight!”
Loka heard the number and then saw a certain girl walk out of the crowd, “Oh fuck. Well, it was nice knowing you Virgin. I don’t know who you pissed off but you have shit luck.”
“What do you mean—Is that even a woman?”
Standing two meters tall, a large cloaked figure walked forward in silence. The girl's muscles lined her black silk robe. She looked like a bodybuilder that didn’t know restraint. Seeing this, the magical girl blanks gave Spada a curious look when Alex walked forward.
Even one of the teachers looked at Spada, “Hey now, Spada, are you for real? I don’t think that girl is at the level of ‘her’... Did that one piss you off?”
Spada smiled and shook her head, “Nope. This was an order from my mistress Blackcard, to test this girl. I hope you guys understand that I have no choice in the matter, sorry to bring this up late, Dragon Fist of the Muscle Crew!”
A woman, who stood two meters tall with a chiseled frame that looked quite sexy, shook her head and snorted.
“Since Blackcard wants to challenge the string bean, Armor can break her. Sorry that you're going to lose a blank so soon, that girl doesn’t know how to hold back.”
Spada just laughed, “My leader wouldn’t have it any other way! Oi, blank. Hurry up and get in position or I’ll beat you.”
Hearing Spada’s scorn, Alex cursed inwardly. Biting her lip she got on the stage, knowing full well that she couldn’t escape the fight. Armor in front of her was so massive compared to her figure that she started sweating bullets trying to think of a way to win.
That’s right, even with such impossible odds, Alex was thinking overtime with the little time she had available to figure out how to beat this hulking wall of flesh.
Armor stood there in her black robes, waiting for Spada to ring the bell silently, not saying anything to Alex. She slowly took her stance full of seriousness, showing with no mercy that she was ready to crush Alex to paste.
What a nice girl with a gentle voice, if she just didn’t have such a fearsome figure...
Thought Alex, before Armor released an aura of bloodlust that almost made her faint. To not pass out, she bit her lip to stay awake. In a last-ditch effort to figure something out, she once more tried to focus on the tattoo in hopes to find a means to fight back.
Despite it being on the tip of her fingers, she couldn’t seem to tap into the source no matter how she tried. Seeing Alex struggle, Spada intently raised her hand ,slowly basking in while watching this little twig squirming under her. Truth be told, Blackcard did tell her to test the girl with a strong enemy, but not the cream of the crop.
It was just to vent the little grudge she felt for Alex getting such a masterpiece tattoo from the master inker.
Still, every good thing must end.
Motioning her hand down, Spada yelled, “Begin!”
At the sound of Spada’s voice, Two moved faster than Alex’s eyes could follow, sending her massive fist burrowing at her face. As she was about to piss herself silly, a voice rang out in her head.
Best percent chance to dodge the incoming attack. Crouch down.

Gaijin
Gaijin means outsider or foreigner. That goes doubly so for David Wyatt after he found himself in a world being chased by something that looked eerily like a stereotypical Japanese Oni. Now, he has to figure out how he can find his place in a world where most people dislike him on principle. At least everything is also out to eat him in some way… wait, that’s a not a positive. This is a Eastern Fantasy GameLit story. It is primarily told from the main character's perspective with the very common trope of an isekai. There will be my own spin on things, so facts I pull from eastern mythology and legends will be drastically different in some aspects. In the end, this story is just for your and my enjoyment. There will be guaranteed chapters every Friday at 15:00 CST, and I will randomly post chapters at other times when I get in the mood for writing or when I like a particular scene.

For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.
