《Master of Learning (Color coded)》Chapter 48 Consequences for being stubborn

Katties point of view
We've just finished our first dungeon as a new group. The few before that were starting to get too difficult because we had 6 members in our group. Making the bosses harder than normal because our group was too big. Axel almost died but I had learned regenerate from Kite. He didn't sustain any injuries I couldn't heal. Even so it scared him off of adventuring, at least for now. Gunter was tired of being the “second” tank of the group…
It was fine for them to leave but that left us short from the perfect size until we visited Kite. He taught us all another class plus gave us our fifth member. We're now far stronger as a group because of that.
Trice was a great addition to our team. With Axel and Gunter, our group had too much offense and defense. We had a heavy lack of support. It ended with us needing to retreat sometimes to deal with larger groups. Especially groups with casters.
Trice stopped all of that, not only could she shut down casters easily. Her well versed skill set from blue mage applied well too her intelligence. She was also a scout with a crossbow made by Kite. She could spot groups far before they became a threat and we could more easily deal with them. We quickly finished dungeon after dungeon with this new group. I'm getting close to my rank up!
We make it back into town, it's far more hectic than usual. After inquiring about the circumstances of what was happening. We found out pirates would invade soon and the city was preparing for that. Kite had spearheaded the operation and was going to the capital to talk with the king while his men reinforced the city. While the humans were the same. We see gnolls running through the city. It was hard to understand but if Kite believes it, chances are it's going to happen.
We head into the slums and see a familiar face. Gobber is ordering some gnolls to pile wood near the door to be used as braces if they attacked from this direction. Ever since I've met him I've had a crush on him… It makes me feel bad because shortly after Leon was healed we've been in a relationship… Gobber is just so damn attractive it should be illegal! Lance approaches him and asks a few questions. Even still just his voice is enough to make my legs weak. Both Trice and Leaf don't seem to have the same feelings as myself… It makes me feel even worse since I'm the only one in a relationship.
While he's talking someone yells out of nowhere towards Gobber. I've never met the person but he's hunched over with an eye patch.

“Hey! Green fuck! Where's your leader at? I'm picking option D. Where I kill him!”
What is this man carrying on about? Kite wouldn't intentionally hurt another human. He didn't even kill the Gem, the bandit who burned the village to the ground. This man seems belligerent for no reason. Is it because Kite didn't heal his injuries? He speaks again.
“Kite ruined me, I can't even fight fairly anymore! If we had a rematch I'd kill him before he got the chance to fight back using all his cheating moves!”
Finally Gobber speaks.
“YOU! You really think you stand a chance, don't you? He held back, he could have blown you away before the fight even started. In several ways! He held back because you're a human. If you don't go away I won't have the same sympathy he had towards you.”
He looks defeated. He's almost on the verge of tears. He squeaks out a reasons still.
“E-even so. He promised he could heal me. Yet I haven't seen him since that fight. He must have lied since no one I know could heal injuries this bad.”
I speak up.
“I can heal, Kite taught me how to heal injuries like yours. I don't think I can salvage the eye if it's in bad shape.”
He looks at me like I'm lying. Like there is no way I could have that skill. It starts to make me mad that he's bad mouthing Kite. Kite has done so much for me! Of course he has, he's done so much for everyone. I'll heal his injuries to prove him wrong. I move close and cast regenerate. His closest injury, his leg is being healed first. It takes a moment but he steps down with it, then steps harder. Finally he gives a hard stomp to check to see if its real.
His eye shows amazement his legs been healed. I cast regenerate again near his face. He pulls his eyepatch off to reveal a puss infected eye. It is disgusting! Did he not get his eye treated? It starts to heal in front of our faces. I cast dispel on him. Just in cast he had gotten any negative statuses from letting his eye fester like that. It fully heals and he moves it around, he smiles and lets out a laugh securing the feeling that it worked. He looks at me gives a brief smile, then cuts my throat. “I'm dead.”
Lances point of view
WHAT THE FUCK! Why did he just kill her? There was no reason for it. What the hell!? WHAT THE HELL!? We all look at him. This can't be happening, it's just a dream. No way this can be real. I've known Kattie for my entire life, she can't be dead. He had no reason to kill her. Why!? I just can't understand. What happened, was it Kites fault somehow? He did talk about him like he put him through hell. Gobber rushes in swinging his sword that's blocked by this unnamed person. What the fuck is happening!?

Gobber is pushing him back easily. He could kill him without much effort. I still don't understand why he just did that. Even though the man is being pushed back he has a smile on his face. I see four people surround Gobber.
Outnumbered five to one Gobber wouldn't stand a chance. A few of the gnolls he was with had stayed but even so they're not close enough to help him. They were all too far away to even realize Gobber was in trouble.
I step in, using my throwing knives which with practice I could manage to use four at once hitting all the same person. He fell to the ground from the pain. Not enough to kill but enough to deter weaker enemies like him.
This got the attention of all the goons. Before they could do anything I had already rushed into range and impaled the hand of one of the other goons. He screamed out in pain while this was happening. Gobber and the man had been fighting and slowly moved away. That leaves me with the last two members of his gang.
Both rush me at the same time. I raised my arm mounted shield up and blocked the first one. Jumping away with my dragoon passive kicking off a buildings wall and coming back down impaling him with an empowered jump strike. He's killed instantly.
Only 1 person left. The last one fearing for his life had started to try and run away. I used my new secret skill from dragoon. Jumping into the air as high as I can I get a clear view of the area. Gobber and the unknown person had left. All that is left in the area is for me to take out last enemy.
I toss my spear towards him. "Lancet!" It's moving so fast it is almost blurring from the speed. It goes through him and sticks to the ground two feet. It will be difficult to get my spear now… WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!? That fight verified this is real… KATTIE!!!
Gobbers point of view
I easily pushed Burke back into a corner. He's weak, far to weak to challenge someone as strong as me. As I think this I'm surrounded by his 4 goons. They all look at me with smirks because they have the number advantage now. I still might be able to beat them because they're all so weak. As I think this one of them screams out in pain.
He had been hit with knives from the side. Is Kite here!? I look over and it was Lance. He moved quickly enough to injure another one. Burke has been hiding in the corner this whole time. His plan is collapsing around him. He doesn't even try to speak. He turns and runs away from me. He doesn't make it very far.
With the scout class I easily catch him, stabbing through his freshly healed leg. He cries out in pain and collapses on the ground. He starts crying, WHY DID HE KILL KATTIE!? I could forgiven him for everything else. Calling me names, constantly trying to fight. I can't, no I won't forgive him! What would Kite do though? He's already given him a chance once. Knowing Kite he would forgive him again… He won't have my sympathy. He starts crying out pleading for his life.
“Please spare me! I know what I did was wrong but if you just spare me you won't regret it!”
Wow! He's fucking awful at begging for his life. I wouldn't spare him even if he was good at begging though. A crowd has started to form, if I kill him now I might be set on by people who didn't understand what had happened. Thinking quickly I make a story up to make him easier to kill.
“This man is a spy for the pirates! He's been sent here to look for weaknesses in our defenses and sabotage us! He's killed a white mage already and he must be punished!”
I don't give him a chance to talk, I pull out my knife cannon Kite made for me and fire it at him. He dies instantly with no time to retort my accusation. I assumed people would swarm me, that I might be killed on the spot for attacking a human… But they cheered for me instead. It might have been a lie but it was better than letting that maggot get away again…
Lance came towards me. He was crying, he looked sadder than I have ever seen him before. Of course he was, one of his friends just died in front of him. I can't believe everything that's happened either. What an awful turn of events. I'll have to explain everything to him later but for now he has to be told about the lie. I whisper so only he can hear.
“I told everyone he was a pirate spy. We need to go kill the rest of his goons before they can say otherwise.”
He looks confused.
“Why do we have to kill them?” Lance questioned.
“Do you think they showed sympathy to Kattie?”
Even if Lance won't, I'll kill them all myself.

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities.
