《Master of Learning (Color coded)》Chapter 29 Teaching the new troops

I wake up. Did I pass out? I'm not sure, it must have had something to do with the new skill I got. Gobber took over leading the gnolls. He managed to feed them. So no problems with them trying to eat my pets… If Pokodo or Sock get eaten by the gnolls... I'm not sure I would be able to spare any of them. I'll have to make one hundred percent sure they understand that.

I go get Pokodo and Sock, they're sleeping outside the cave near the entrance. Maybe I should make a stable for the outside seeing as we have animals now. I decide to let them sleep and start making a stable on the outside of the fortress.

I'll have to section it off and build up the walls around it making sure there is an exit to outside of the fortress to let the cows out to graze. For now just the building is enough. It's not a very complicated building. It wasn't very hard to make the stalls for animals. Using control nature on wood I could carry back to the stables and expanding the pieces shaping them into place. I'll have to get a roof made later for it.

I start working on finishing the loom. I started a few days ago. It shouldn't take that long to finish. When I do finish it's almost daybreak. I produce some silk and make it not sticky. Thinking about it I could use the silk like glue for some other things besides cloths. I load the loom up and start making cloth with the silk. It's a very soft cloth.

Most of the gnolls are finally waking up. I should line the floor in the main room with plain silk. Since they sleep in a pile it wouldn't be that difficult. I show two of the gnolls how the loom works and teach them tailoring. I produce enough silk so they'll be busy for awhile. Making cloths and weapons for all the gnolls should be priority. Using clubs and crappy stone weapons isn't the best equipment an army could have.

I start making bricks from the rocks outside that I'm going to build the rest of the frame for the forge. I add two sections. One to turn coal into coke and a storage container for the coal. It will take either all day or a few days over time to complete the forge. I have to much to do to focus on just completing the forge.

I taught some gnolls woodworking. The gnolls are cutting some of the trees down in the area to start making boards and paper with. It's going to be awhile but I'd like to get some carts made to transport the dirt and rock out of the cave from the mining process.

With them set up their's still around twenty gnolls with no jobs or classes yet. I should try and teach the mage classes first since less gnolls will be able to learn them. I teach white mage first. Out of all the gnolls only one managed to learn it. Since he's so special I'll remember his name, Gargarz. That's a difficult name to remember but since he's special I'll memorize it.

I try and teach elemental magic. Zero of the gnolls could manage to learn it. I try teaching black mage, time mage and warden. Once again no one learns any of them. Thankfully I'm not wasting fatigue points with none of them learning anything. Finally I try teaching nature magic.

Gargarz manages to learn. He seems to have an aptitude for learning magic. I teach him the job doctor. He's the only white mage so he's going to be the physician of the army. Gargarz is already at his limit for classes and jobs. I guess they're tied together for subspecies. Meaning that they can only learn a certain number of classes and jobs put together.

Does that mean all goblins can learn up to six classes? Probably not, Gobber seems special for a goblin. I'm almost out of fatigue points so I'll stop teaching for today. The gnolls look disappointed they couldn't learn anything. It will be fine since I have plans for them.

We build up the walls with some of the trees in the area around the stables. Making a side door to the fortress for grazing purposes of the cows. All these cows are dairy cows except for one male. I'll need to make sure one of the gnolls milks them everyday for meals. Speaking of meals it might also be a good idea to make some watch over the crops. Tomorrow I'll teach some of the woodworkers how to farm.

I wake up a two hours before everyone else and start putting the carts together, it doesn't take long since all the boards are cut to length. Using my spider silk to hold the boards together is quite effective. I continue working on the forge, two hours today and two hours tomorrow should finish it.

The gnolls have started waking up and get back to what they were doing yesterday. Their's still twenty or so that haven't learned any classes or jobs yet. I decided to teach ten of the remaining gnolls archery. I'll make them crossbows to use over the next few days. I turn Gizmo on today and assign him to cleaning duty for now. It seems like a waste but automatons can't do heavily intricate things. Him getting accustomed to all the gnolls isn't a bad idea though.

I start teaching everyone archery and all of them manage to learn it after a few hours. I teach the ten that learned archery the thief and bandit classes. A few hours later they've learned those classes. With that I've developed a stealth team. The sneak skill doesn't make them invisible but it goes a long way for helping land stealth attacks.

The rest I teach beast tamer. I start to get extremely tired though, so after teaching that I quit. I check my stats and my fatigue points are almost completely drained. I take it easy the rest of the day, I tell them tonight we'll go and capture so dire wolves for the tamers to ride so I go to sleep a little early.

When I wake up the only gnolls still awake are the ones that are beast tamers and Gobber. We head outside and I see their are some guards active on the walls. If I miss something Gobber will normally assign it. Since I didn't think of that yet, he ended up assigning watch duty to a few gnolls. We head outside and start to tame dire wolves. It doesn't take very long for everyone to get their pets and everyone is happy with that so we head back and they go to sleep.

I finish building the forge. Today onwards it would be nice if we can start making weapons for the gnolls. We have some iron I bought to smelt but I need to teach a gnoll. So I wont have to waste hours upon hours making weapons for everyone. I head to the mines and reinforce the ceiling and some of the walls where we're not going to dig at. By that time everyone is waking up.

I teach some of the woodworker gnolls how to farm. I'll leave their third job or class open for now. It would be good to have some spares I can teach classes to later. Thinking that I pull one of them away from that and teach him blacksmithing. He makes a very shoddy iron sword for his first piece. In all honesty swinging lumps of iron would be better than some of their weapons.

I still need to start getting ingredients for alchemy. I'll have to send some of the gatherer gnolls into the forest to get herbs for him. I'll also assign a handful of gnolls to work as a guard for the gatherer gnolls. Going through the woods is going to end with them getting attacked by monsters. I teach the gnolls who were beast tamers the knight class. I start feeling very tired again. So that is it for now. Tomorrow I'll go back and start school again.
