My entire body quivered in pain, but I forced my eye to remain open in spite of the pain.
After a minute or so, I got used to the brightness and was able to look around. In the meantime, I had also allowed my ear to surface, and the results were about the same, except with a ringing instead of a burning.
Looking around, I noticed something curious.
