《I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage》Chapter 35

Glancing at the runes on the ground, all written in various circles with each around a mana storage gem, I fling a rock and watch it bounce off of each successive barrier. Then I say, . A ball of white fire appears in the air in front of me, and the gems simultaneously disintegrate soon after. Grinning, I cancel my spells and the fire disappears. Then, I cleanse the ground of the chalk-written runes with a bucket of water.
Exhausted, I teleport back to my room and lay on the ground. Closing my eyes, it’s not long before I find myself back in the cellar.
The man looks at me with a smirk on his face. “If you ever remember this, know that you are a demon, and no one likes demons.” He chuckles and comes close as I shy against the wall behind me. “Don’t be afraid, this is the last time,” he soothes. “After this, you will never have to worry about being discovered.” He grabs onto my arm and pulls it to an open glass jar. After swiping a blade across my arm, he watches my blood drip into the jar as I vainly and weakly struggle.
The door opens and another man walks in. “Hurry. The King’s patience is wearing thin.”
“Don’t worry, we have enough now.” He lets go of my arm before saying, . The wound closes.
“You’ve been at this for awhile now.”
“Disguising a demon takes a while. You were lucky to have been born in the Jorein House. At least you have no visual evidence. I, on the other hand, an orphan left on the streets, can’t do anything about these.” He lifts his shirt and points to the blue scars on his chiseled abs.
“You really aren’t afraid anything will go wrong, are you? What if your spell fails?”

“It won’t. The girl’s memories will be sealed, and even if they aren’t, she will try to hide them because she is a demon.” He turns back to me. “Besides, being the child that she is, she should forget memory before it traumatizes her. We will soon take over this world, and one insignificant child won’t be able to stop it.”
“You forget that this child is a descendent of the Donatella House.”
“They don’t even know she exists. When they are eventually reunited, they will thank me.”
“Why don’t we just bring her back now?”
“If the authorities continue to search, our plans will go awry. We need her blood in order to control the demons.”
“And if you run out of blood?”
The man huffs. “You forget that this child can hear everything.” He lifts his hand and places it on my head. A string of words leaves his mouth, and my vision dulls. As I fall over, the man stands up, pulls a bottle from his inner jacket, and pours the contents onto the ground. Then he takes the jar and leaves the cellar with the other man, saying, “Let’s discuss the rest with Keltos.” Then I black out.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
