《Adventures of a young Zuma》Volume 3- CHAPTER 9

Before leaving the forest, we had a discussion about our next course of action. I don’t know why the Council wanted to find this gem stone...It didn’t have any unique property, although I’m no gem evaluator but it seemed to me the gemstone was only good for showing and lauding it over others...still it had to be returned to the Capital. But it was not my place to speak in this matter as I was not the original team assigned to find it. Javel decide that we would decide our next course of action after we have reached Port Fortitude of the Castor clan. Upon reaching there we would board the earliest ship and travel back to Port Solitude. There they would take some days off, while I would take Adi’Je with me and travel back to Zuma to find some answers. Once we are done, we would wait for the team to join us in Zuma and from there we would travel to the Capital. There we will present our findings and receive our rewards and after doing that we would decide what to do next...This was the plan.

We are now waiting in Port Fortitude, one of the other ports controlled by the Castor Clan. When we reached here, we heard that a storm was blowing past the area and the Sameria Sea was dangerous at this moment so all ships were cancelled. It would take at least 3-4 days for the storm to pass from there. Upon receiving this news we went to the Council of Zoit branch office in here to rent rooms to stay. We went there and received our rooms. This time also one room for males and one for females. I was mostly worried about Aby and Adi’Je...though I don’t know what happened when they were taking bath together but I still had fear about the matter, but Marion assured me that everything would be fine and she would handle any situation that would transpire. She knew of my worries and assured me yet I know her feelings but I didn’t respond back to her feelings. It’s not that I didn’t want to but I wanted to be sure of my situation and my feelings of her...

This was all to new for me and frankly I was scared that eventually I might hurt someone...But I do know, after spending nearly 5 months with them, I consider each of them as a dear one. One thing was also making me uneasy about what Ron said that Aby also had feelings for me...I mean she hasn’t said anything to me...yet...but her attitude towards me had changed drastically when Adi’Je became my wife. Now, she doesn’t talk me like she used to but had taken a rather mean and cold outlook. She was mean to me before but this was a whole new level of mean. She was the first person to help me remove my shackles and the person whose words gave Elder hope in his last breath. Before all these happened, I wanted Aby to feel proud of me and I guess look at me as her equal. Under the entire tough act, I knew the real Aby...who she was... I decided when I could get a chance to talk to her alone, I would straighten everything out.

I had time on my hand, so decided to do some personal work. I went down stairs to look for the messaging counter. Every Clan Council and Council of Zoit branch offices has one. It was used to transfer messages from one place to another via teleportation much like the system in the banks. I found the messaging counter. An innocent looking Castor woman was manning the counter. She wore the Council Branch workers uniform; the uniform was light yellow which complimented her slightly dark skin tone. She had light blue upturned eyes, which had a natural lift at the outer corner and thin light brown lips. The counter was free so I went ahead.

Me: “Excuse...”

She looked at me and a small smile grew on her face.

Counter Lady: “Hello, how may I help you, Sir?”

Me: “Ahh...I want to send a message to the Council of Zuma, please...”

Counter Lady: “One moment, Sir...”

She handed out to me a paper and said.

Counter Lady: “Please fill up the details in the form and write the massage which you want to send, the place where you want to send it and the person who shall receive it...”

Me: “Thank you...”

I write all the details in it...I wanted to send it to Councilwomen Je’Lec. I wrote the message to be delivered and handed over the paper to the lady. She smiled at me and took the paper, looked over the sender and receiver details. After checking everything, she placed it in an envelope and turned towards me and asked.

Counter Lady: “Do you want it to be urgent class message?”

Me: “Yes.”

She smiled and again turned and placed a sign on it which shows an ‘Urgent Class Message’. Then she placed the envelope on a tray which had two green crystals attached to it. She touched both the crystals and both of them showed a screen to her. One was for the place to be send and the other the person to be sent. She selected accordingly and confirmed it. The envelope was surrounded by a green light then it vanished. She turned towards me, wrote something on another paper and handed towards me. It was the bill for the message teleportation. It costs only 80 silvers. I payed her the money and exited the counter. When I came to the main hall of the branch, I saw Adi’Je looking for someone. After seeing me, she quickly came over.

Adi’Je: “My Lord, where were you? I went to your room but they said you had left already...I came down here to find you...I finally found...”

Me (smiling): “Why did you wanted to see me?”

Adi’Je (pouting): “Could not a wife want to spend time with her husband without any reason?”

Me: “Yes, they can... (I grabbed her hand) come on...”

Adi’Je: “My Lord, can I ask what were you doing here?”

Me: “Actually I wanted to do two things while we are here. First was to send a message to the Council of Zuma to notify them of my date of arrival and asked them to brief me about the topic of Blood Zuma upon my arrival. I want to know why we forgot our own history and the second is....”

We arrived on front of a counter which was numbered 12.

Me: “I wanted to register as an adventure of the Council’s Adventurers Unit.”

The counter had few people but we didn’t have to wait for long for our turn. The counter was manned by a beautiful woman, maybe in her late 30’s if I had to guess. She too was wearing a light yellow colored uniform and too had a slight dark skin tone. This was a common racial trait for the Castor Clan. She was very easy on the eyes.

Adi’Je: “My Lord, are you here to register as an adventurer or do you want to take her on an adventure...he he he he...”

Me: “No...I was just...”

Counter Lady: “Welcome, how my I serve you?”

Adi’Je: “Are you free to go on an exciting adventure of a more pleasurable kind?”

Counter Lady (a little confused): “Ahh...excuse me?”

Me: “Umm...I am here to register as an adventurer of the Council’s Unit.”

Counter Lady: “Ahh...please wait a moment.”

She took out a paper and then looked at me again.

Counter Lady: “Sir, your name please...”

Me: “Le’On.”

She wrote that and she asked me again.

Counter Lady: “Sir, are you a registered General Body Adventurer?”

Me: “Actually, no...But currently, I’m an interim adventure on a mission for the Council of Zoit.”

She wrote again and said.

Counter Lady: “Ok, Sir may I have your Adventurer Identity Number, please?”

Me: “Yes, its 1365987.”

She wrote that and said.

Counter Lady: “Thank you Sir, please wait a moment.”

She took out a grey crystal under the counter and put her hand on it. A screen came; I saw her inputting the number I gave her. After she finished inputting in it, another screen came. She looked towards me and said.

Counter Lady: “Normally, we check only the persons who are registered as a General Body Adventurer, first.

Then they had to complete at least 20 quests given by the General Body Unit which have to be at least Level B and above. This is the second criteria.

Then we give them 3 trial quests to gauge their level. The quests are all Level A in General Body Unit standards. This was the third criteria.

After fulfilling all three then they can be registered and upon registering they have to pay 200 gold to the Council as registration fees.

After they have register as an adventurer in the Council’s Unit, when they complete a General Body Unit quests they have to pay 5% of their reward to the Council of Zoit. Only the quests given by the Council of Zoit itself are tax free. Every year they have to pay a fixed sum of 50 gold to keep their registration valid.

This is the whole procedure.”

After she takes a look at the screen, she again looked at me and said.

Counter Lady: “Your case is different. You are not a registered General Body Adventurer but a registered interim adventurer in the Council’s Unit. So you can skip that part.

As it is shown here, you are a part of a team which is on a quest of the Council of Zoit, which is a Level A quest. This means we can also skip the 20 quests rule. Though the quest is not indicated as finished, you can complete this stage if you participate in a Quest of Level C or above given by the General Body Unit.

If you chose to participate and succeed in that quest then you can also skip the 3 quest rule as you are already a part of a quest of the Council of Zoit of the highest priority.”

Me (taking all the information in): “OK...so should I go first and register at the General Body Unit?”

Counter Lady (smiling): “That won’t be necessary Sir; I will direct you to a quest of the General Body Unit right here if you are ready.”

Me (smiling): “Ok...I’m ready, I’m here for maximum of 2 or 3 days so please allot me a quest within that time limit.”

Counter Lady (smiling): “Very well Sir, please wait a moment.”

She then took out another crystal, this time a violet one. She put her hands on it and it showed a screen. After inspecting something, she looked at me and said.

Counter Lady: “Sir, you are in luck. There is an open quest given out by the General Body Unit, it is Level C. The quest is for to clear the farm lands to north east of us which are infested by Feuruz’s. They are midsized monsters that attack our farms to feed on the foods we produce. It is a two member squad quest and the reward is good. Fortunately one spot has already been booked. Should I allot it to you, Sir?”

Me (I think for a moment, and then said): “Please do that.”

Counter Lady (with a smile): “Very well, Sir. I will allot it to you and notify your squad member to contact me here in this office and then I will give you the official quest notification. Please wait for some time in our lounge, Sir.”

She inputs something on the screen and then puts down the crystal.

Me (smiling): “Ah...thank you...”

Counter Lady (smiling): “Your welcome, Sir.”

I took Adi’Je with me to the lounge to wait. It was noon so the lounge was quite empty. But still a few heads turned when we entered and not just for Adi’Je...no...no...no...They even turned for me too... We sat at an enclosed both. Now that I have time on my hands I should ask Adi’Je something which was bothering me for quite a while.

Me: “Adi, I want to ask you something...”

Adi’Je (intently looking at me): “Yes, My Lord?”

Me: “You once said that the monster Aniya sought you out through telepathy while you were in that crystal...how?”

Adi’Je (her expression changed to a more mischievous one): “Ahh...that one...he he he he...still having doubts that I would not cure you from that curse?”

Me: “No...I don’t mean that...but I want to know how did she find you and how did you teach her?”

Adi’Je (still carrying the mischievous smile): “he he he...Ok...I do not know how, but she found me and asked for my help...so I told her some names of herbs readily available everywhere and to mix it with the special ingredient and swallow it. After swallowing it, keep it stored inside her. Her body would get accustomed to the poison and would be able to produce the poison on her own after some time.”

Me: “Ok...then what was the special ingredient that was used?”

Adi’Je (her smile increased): “That...he he he he he...I will not tell you...it is a Blood women secret and we do not spill secrets.”

Me (curious): “Come on, tell me...”

Adi’Je: “I am sorry My Lord, but I will not tell you, now. You will know of its secret when I remove it from you. Until then, please be happy with this...”

She leaned towards me and gave me a sweet, hot, juicy kiss...ohhh...I was in another world...

*Ahem* *Ahem* *Ahem*

I broke from the kiss...damn it...I looked to the side and saw the same counter lady who told me to wait...

Her face was red and she was fidgeting...

Counter Lady: “S...Sir... ahhh... your...ahh...your partner is here...pl...Please follow me...”

I heard Adi’Je giggle...well she was enjoying this...We got up and followed her to the counter...

Upon reaching the counter, she went around and waved at someone who was behind me. I looked back and saw a beautiful young girl approaching us...She was jaw dropping beautiful...I mean not as beautiful as Adi’Je here but still...she would come second if they were in a beauty contest...

She was white, absolutely white...with graceful proportions all the way round... an ample bosom, small but tight bottoms, curvy like crescent moon, had orange sultry lips and downturned hazel eyes which have a slight dropping on the outer corner.

She was wearing light silver armour with braces on her left hand. An axe clasped on right side, with leather boots.

Adi’Je: “My Lord, if I may...it would be better for you to close your jaw and stop drooling if you want to have a chance to bed this girl... he he he he”

I snap out of the trance and look back at the counter lady.

Counter Lady: “Sir, please meet your partner, Daeti of the Aves Clan.”

Me (smile at her): “Hello...”

Counter Lady: “And Madam, this is your partner Le’On of the Zuma Clan.”

She smiled and said with a soft and sweet voice: “Pleased to meet you.”

After the formal greeting, the Counter Lady gave us the official notification of the Quest.

Adi’Je (still giving me the same smile): “OK My Lord, as you wish....be CAREFUL out there and be SAFE...”

Me: "I will...here take this..."

I gave her a pouch which was filled with money. She takes it and looks at me with a look of confusion. Before she could ask what it was, I told her.

Me: "The pouch contains some money...while I'm out, please enjoy yourself and go out...maybe some...shopping for yourself...I want you to enjoy these free days we have. Take Marion and the rest of the girls with you...if you want

I know, they would enjoy it too and please buy Wei a beautiful dress. She doesn't say much about much but she loves dresses. But DO NOT TELL HER that it was my idea...OK...I'm off..."

She smiled and nodded at my suggestion.
