《Adventures of a young Zuma》Volume 2- CHAPTER 4

They say it’s a castle but the name is misleading. It is not a big building in height per say but in length. It stretches over a big area of the forest.
Me: “How big is this castle anyway?”
Paleg: “Does it matter? Its big...it’s filled with dangerous monsters & our destination is towards the north, which is the end of this fine establishment.”
Me: “Doesn’t it bother you, wherever you go, there are monsters manifesting in it. First clear the place then look for anything. So tiresome...not that I’m complaining...just stating a fact that more hand in combat might be needed.” There that is the best way to be suggestive.
Ron: “Frankly, I get mad of Javel more than anyone or anything else.”
Me: “Why? What did he do?”
Marion: “Nothing big...just he prohibited Ron from bringing any alcohol with him in this trip...he he he...”
Ron: “Damn right...you fight & fight everyday...some breather is always needed but he doesn’t think so... NOT everyone has an unending brute strength to depend on.”
Javel: “Did you say something, RON?” His eyes gave a view of him breaking Ron in two.
Ron: “No...Nothing...I was just telling Le’On that what a great leader you are...”
Marion: “Le’On did you hear Ron praise Javel before?? Strange I didn’t hear anything...he he he.”
Ron (little annoyed): “Stop...suggesting things to young Le’On here, he is of impressionable age.”
Me: “I’m not that little anymore...when we get our Status activated we are equivalent to your teenagers. In 2 years, I’ll be an adult.”
Marion: “My my, our little Le’On is growing so fast...”
Paleg: “And here we thought that he was a stupid LITTLE KID.”
They all laughed...what so funny about it?? Just give a sword...please...
Javel (with a stern voice): “Quiet...we are near our meeting point with Aby...we should...”
Before even Javel could finish his words...a medium sized 6 legged monster came flying towards him & got impaled by Paleg’s arrows. Then we saw we were surrounded by them, 6 legged monsters ranging from small to medium. They were in huge numbers. It would take the whole night to fight them.

Marion: “6 leg...everybody...don’t get bitten. They are poisonous.”
The team came in formation. Javel, Ron, Wei creating a triangular wall, within it me, Marion & Paleg in support.
Within matter of secs they attacked us. The team started its defensive counter measure. The monsters had great numbers but we had experienced fighters. Very soon blood, limbs & heads were flying everywhere. All of them were of the attacking monsters. Javel was just impaling them. He was a monster among monsters. Paleg with his pinpoint accuracy picked out the monsters at a distance. Ron was cutting their limbs...he had some crude methods to subdue them. And Wei was like a cutter. She cut the monsters left & right, heads, limbs, torso’s all were cut clean off. It was a sight to see. I was restless...come one someone just give a sword...please. As time passed, we got bogged down, we had underestimated their strength. It was getting harder & harder to push them back. Everyone had to be extra careful that they don’t get bitten. Getting poisoned can be treated by Marion but you would be out for the rest of the fight & put huge extra pressure on the team. But we relieved some reprieve as we saw Aby from a distance. She was throwing her knives with pin point accuracy, picking out & instantly killing them. The fight was getting dragged along & I was just standing. Come on...
Suddenly, something made the monster fill with renewed energy. They started their attack with more intensity. It was suspicious. I was looking at Aby, hoping she would know if something else is out there. I saw her checking her surrounding & she fell back...What??Everyone one noticed it...a big body emerged from the shadow. It was black in colour with red streaks. It was the biggest monster out of all of them.
Javel shouted: “Aby!!!Get out of their...it’s the alpha...GET OUT!!!”
But Aby was still sitting down on the branch with her back towards the tree.
Marion: “Oh no...No...No...She is bitten! Javel!!! She is bitten!!”

What???No...No... It can happen again. I saw, it was setting itself for its final strike. Move...move...MOVE!!!
Instantly I grabbed Marion’s sword from her waist. Everything tuned out. I can’t hear anything. It was calm...I felt the blade in my hand. But it still felt out of place. I then grabbed Ron’s extra sword from his back. Now it was balanced. The movement of the monsters got slower. To slow...two monsters came against me...they were slow. I turned sideways, caught one on its heads with my left hand & another one’s head with my right...cutting their heads off cleanly...blood sprayed out...some splashing over my face, some on the ground...I craved for more. I dashed towards Aby, not a care in the world...just the strong desire for blood. Haphazardly cutting monsters left & right, their bloods soaking me...I felt more at peace. I was within reach of Aby. The alpha was just about to strike the final blow...I jumped.
********* ABY'S POV*******
Pain rising within me...such pain...I can’t move my body...vision became blurry. Damn...I was careless...I couldn’t feel its presence...Damn it...so much pain. Now the monster is ready to give its final blow...I tried looking towards the group...they were some distant away...So this is how it ends...not how I wanted. I had so much to see, to feel...ahhhhh...so much pain...end it monster...end this pain, you win this round but my teammates will kill you. It lets loose its stinger...THIS IS IT...a sword emerged , a hand holding a sword...it struck the stinger stopping it in the process...What??Who?? Another hand holding sword emerged, now I can see a body...It thrust the sword inside the monsters head...Who is it??Wei? Ahhh...so much pain...everything’s getting blurred...who is...Le’On!!!....
******************************
I reached in time...stopped its stinger first & even before it could retaliate I plunged another sword through its head....Instant death...its bloods spraying over me...my senses get stronger...I turned my attention towards Aby...She is pain...picked her up & put her over my right shoulder freeing my left to defend or attack. I start my return dash, jumping from one branch to another...some monster came...but they were too slow...
********* ABY'S POV*********
Ahhhh....so much pain...where am I? I tried to look but couldn’t see anything except some headless monster & why am I seeing everything upside down...pain growing, everything getting blurry...I felt that I was being carried...Who’s carrying me? I tried to look up...Le’On!!! What are you doing...you...stupid boy??...
********************************
I reached the group...took Aby to Marion. She was ready with the treatment. But I didn’t wait to see. I plunged in the fight again...the monsters had lost coordination & the will to fight. It was easy & slow. It took some moment before everything became quiet. I looked around...no monster was standing...I was drenched in blood...my swords was covered in blood, their colour turned blue. It was so peaceful. Javel saying something to me...What is he saying???He put his arms on my waist, picked me up & shook me violently...What???What happened??I regained my senses, started hearing everything again.
Javel: “YOU IDIOT!!!What were you thinking???”
Ron: “Javel...let him down...he did save Aby...it was reckless but necessary.”
Javel put me down...he has some strength...Aby!!!What about Aby??I looked towards Marion. She looked at me & then nodded.
Marion: “I have given her the antidote...she needs rest...but her life’s not in danger...Le’On...though it was dangerous but Thank you for saving her...”
I nodded...I was tired & relieved...& needed to clean myself.
Javel (Picking Aby up): “Alright let’s move away from this place & find a suitable place to set camp for tonight.”
We moved on to find a place...It was a very good day...Bring on the adventure.
