I kept running with only a single thought on my mind... “Elder!!” I straight went to my house, hurriedly picked up my weapons & dashed towards the fields where Elders & the monsters were. Countless people running from the direction I was running...probably towards the shelter...sometimes someone would shout to me...saying it was ‘dangerous’ or ‘don’t go there’ or even some people looked confused seeing weapons in my hand. But I didn’t heed them or their words, only one thing on my mind... “Please Elder, be safe”...
When I reached the fields, I saw many types of monsters rampaging...few dismembered dead bodies of my clan members...blood soaked fields...
I looked around; trying to ascertain Elders presence...I saw the adventure group busy fighting the monsters trying to repel them...with a smile on their face...
After searching thoroughly what seemed like an eternity I finally saw Elder...but I was not filled with joy...only fear surrounded me...
The Elder was defending himself from the hornless Talon...he was bleeding from his arms, legs, head but still trying to free himself from the beast. I hesitated a bit, trying to find any way to save him, but before I could get even close to him I have clear a path by killing few monsters that blocked it. I was thinking...trying hard...seeing the Talo’s tail coil up for a strike...I tried to shout at the Elder “Elder...go back...” I was cut short. Within moments it tail plunged in the Elders chest, stabbing him through & through. Everything stopped for me.
Something happened...I was running...running...towards Elder & the hornless talon...killing monsters in my path...time itself has slowed down...my heart was beating slowly...slowly...as if I have all the time in the world.
I could hear someone calling for me, saying to me “Get back!!!You fool....” But I didn’t stop...monsters came towards me, their eyes lusting for blood & meat...throwing their claws or opening their jaws to stop me...but they were slow... “Were they that slow before?” I asked myself...making their life short. My target did not change...only my speed changed...it was even faster...The Talon readied its tail again to strike the fallen Elder...

I jumped trying the small distance between us quickly, on the downward movement I plunged my tail bone sword through its hand.
It screamed...shaking the field...shaking the monsters...shaking the people trying to flee or fight. I retracted the sword, with my right hand pushed my bone dagger from the bottom of its mouth stabbing it through & through...stapling its mouth...cutting short on its scream. It tried to shake the dagger plunged in its mouth loose...with my left hand I jammed the bone sword towards its heart with all my strength, thrusting it all the way...its blood spraying all over me...bathing me...I for one was not ready...not ready to stop. I pulled backed the sword with both of my hands, I saw it’s tail plunging towards me...its last hope...but it was slow...I sidestepped on my left, catching the broader side of the tail & stabbed it with my sword & pulled it back. It squalled with pain...shaking violently, I saw my chance & gave the final blow...right through its heart...this time even plugging my hand into the hole along with the sword, making the sword protruding out from its back. Blood spreading all 4ft of me, drenching me in red. It fell flat on the ground, motionless, light in its eyes long gone...the only thing on my mind “So slow.”
I quickly turned to look for the Elder. He was lying flat on the earth. I went to his side, tried to pick up his body but to avail. So I tried as best as I could to suppress the wound with my hand...shouting...crying “Elder!!!Elder!!!Elder!!!Please open your eyes...please”.
Blood was running out from his wounds, he gingerly opened his eyes, looked at me...I knew all he would see a blood drenched me. He opened his mouth & tried to say suppressing his pain “Ch Ch Child...your back *cough*, how was your ceremony *cough*”
Me (crying): “Good...Elder...very good...”
Elder *cough*: “You haven’t activated *cough* you’re...your Status...”
Me (crying): “I wanted to show you first, Elder”
Elder *cough*: “What are you waiting for *cough**cough*...my child”
Me (wiping away my tears): “Y Y Yes...Activate Status”

It showed a message...
EVOLUTION DETECTED
INITIALIZING....
A blinding light surrounding me...only for a few moments...I felt light...my head felt lighter...something close to peace I thought. Light quickly fade away, I looked at Elder, his eyes filled with tears & face filled a smile. His left hand shaking...slowly patting me...on my head.
Elder: “I knew *cough* *cough* *cough* it... (spitting blood from his mouth)...my child...will you keep my last request?” *cough*
Me (holding his hand): “Yes Elder...anything...please...I will listen to anything you say to me...please don’t leave...Elder...”tears fell from my eyes & on his face.
Elder: “Child *cough* *cough* listen to me...Go out of this place & explore the continent...see *cough* *cough* *cough* new place, meet *cough* *cough* new people. Not only for your sake *cough* but for our entire clan...*cough* *cough*change their views about us...tell them *cough* *cough* *cough* we are part of this continent, *cough* same as them & we also produce *cough* strong people...just like you ...my grandson *cough* *cough* *cough*. Your parents would have been *cough* so proud of you as I am...*cough* *cough* Will you keep my request...child??”
Me (tears blurring my eye sight, wiping them): “Yes Elder, I will do as you say...I will make you & my parents more proud of me.”
Elder (breathing scarcely, coughing, spitting blood): “Remember...you are our new hope...my child *cough* *cough*.”
I felt a hand on my shoulder, before even I could look back to see, I heard: “Don’t worry, Elder...I will personally whip him into shape so that he doesn’t disappoint anyone...so rest with peace.”
Elder: “Thank you...”
The light in his eyes fed away...his body...lifeless...I saw a face known to me kneeling in front of me...it was Miss Aby...she said “ Boy...you will come with us...& stop being so Damn RECKLESS” she hit my head lightly...tears rolling from my eyes...something appeared in front of my eyes.
