《Grand Magus》Chapter 62 Against the Horde

“We are taking this place, you should defend this place against the horde.“ spoke Vira while indicating a place on a drawn map.

The place which was given to Fraser was a small place at the edge of the outpost.

Nodding, Fraser and his eight servants sprinted towards the place.

The mission was clear, kill all beast who entered the zone. The corpses and everything found would belong to the defending person.

With mere thought, Fraser’s eight servants transformed into their giant size. They looked like beetles as they walked on all six legs.

Some apprentices certainly would have problems to eradicate a huge amount of beasts or defend a place from such a large number of beasts, but for Fraser it was easy. He didn’t even lift a single finger in the massacre as his servants crushed every beast under their insect legs or body.

Instead Fraser sat on a rock and pondered about the notes which Vira gave to him.

The aging process seemed to be made for him. He had an unusual amount of synergy with the Alchemy technique incubation and it worked wonders with the aging process. Apparently the aging process was caused by some spiritual mutation that could be accelerated via the incubation technique.

This time, Frasers AI Chip did some major useful work for the first time as it turned the spiritual mutation which was recorded on the notes, into reality.

Fraser only roughly knew the process, but he couldn’t replicate it as detailed as the Chip.

Some of the first potions that were experimented with the aging process were already in the last incubation phase, so the result couldn’t be verified, but Fraser trusted the notes as they sounded logical as well as the Chip to be able to do something which heavily counted on calculation.

‘The aging process seemed to rely on some of the spiritual mutation that is created by something that is in the potion. The method to feed some spirit in the incubation to something to use that energy to mutate the potion seems logical. After all, a sword that is sharpened with a whetstone after being producing, is sharper than a sword that is only produced by the blacksmith and not sharpened.’

As Fraser pondered, his eight servants squashed every beast that dared to enter with ease.

Their size was so humongous that until right now, none of the servants had any problems to squash a beast to pulp with a single action.

After killing the beast, the servants would eat the meat pulp and store them in their reserves.

Fraser already reached his spirit limit and thus couldn’t control one more servant.

In order to not waste the beasts, they all got eaten by the servants. Only some interesting things that awakened Fraser’s interest were dragged by one of the servants.

One antler that was black, a particular large beast carried those antlers on his head, a white fur that seemed to generated electricity, a sphere shaped, rolling beast owned the fur before and different body parts like bones, eyes, organs and blood were the war spoil of Fraser.

With a child-like interest, Fraser anticipate the use of these materials. Perhaps he should dive into the art of transplanting organs and body parts? After all, he read some knowledge about it and if he could strengthen his servants, it would be a huge boon.

Besides, it seemed to be interesting and could increase his power.

Naturally, Fraser would try to acquire some test subjects that would be “compatible” to his standards.

While Fraser sorted through his future experiment parts, more and more beasts approached him and his servants.

With a mere thought, his servants started the massacring spree once more. Body parts and blood splattered as every beast was beaten into a pulp.

When the sack of loot that Fraser acquired grew into a back that was half the size of his servants, Fraser stopped his killing spree.

Almost none of the beasts dared to approach him anymore and only a few would check out the situation before hastily escaping.

When Fraser walked towards the gate of the outpost, he could see that a rather large group of people stood in front of it.

Almost the same size when the Magi started their defense.

The only difference compared to last time was the fact that some apprentice groups had sad or even depressed looks on their faces, while some clearly looked happy about something.

Carrying a large sack didn’t gathered much attention as everyone was busy dealing with their own stuff.

Fraser walked towards Magi Sept’s group and he obviously was the last as Magi Sept started to speak:

“Good, all are here. As my older disciples know the rules and thankfully know me very well.”

Magi Sept glanced towards the muscular Vira and Emium which had no facial expression as he still wore the white mask with a knowing smile.

“I don’t like wasting my time with this defending task. It is obnoxious, not very well rewarding and extremely time consuming.”

Clapping his hands together, Magi Sept continued:

“Thankfully, one of my oldest disciple agreed to take over my job. Since I know that his power is enough for a trivial task like that, I fear not for the outpost. Thus, I shall leave the safety to you Emium. Naturally you shall receive your usual reward after this task.”

Speaking his last sentence, Magus Sept simply walked into the outpost, leaving his inner circle behind.

It was at that moment, when Fraser could clearly see how the group dynamic of the inner circle worked.

One side consisted of Vira and her group, Emium had no visible follower but a couple of hooded figures were visible standing closer to him.

There was one couple that seemed to be on the same power level as both of them. However, to Fraser they seemed to be on the neutral side.

It still disturbed Fraser how these two people kissed. They were obviously two man but still sucked on each other lips as soon as Magi Sept finished his speech.

Like addicts that were separated for a little bit too long, they fell into their pleasure and started to moan as if their life depended on that.

Emium started to speak towards Fraser:

“Don’t mind them, Mentor Sept is annoyed by their sucking sounds when they do that. So they clearly stop when he is around. But if I were you, I wouldn’t take them on the light shoulder. I think that brute Vira didn’t explain it to you in a way that people would understand it. I defend this place for Mentor Sept, for a transaction. You people get to leave and explore the howling abyss.”

Vira started to pick a verbal fight with Emium, two sides ready to clash.

The couple that kissed, sucked and moaned like their life depended on it, walked into the forest.

Fraser followed their example by ignoring the two clashing factions and walking away, his looting back still on his shoulder.

However he didn’t walked into the forest, he made one trip back to his lodgings and took away all of his potions and his material.

It ended up to be a half a dozen of wooden crates, but as Fraser’s servants had no problem carrying them, Fraser didn’t saw any problem in the amount of stuff he took away.

Thus, Fraser walked into the howling abyss and slowly disappeared in the forest mist.

In search for more experimental stuff and wonders of the world.
