《Grand Magus》Chapter 41 Silence before the storm

“How have you been Fraser? It has been around two months since you have traded the potions with us.” spoke the muscular woman.
As Fraser arrived at the corner of the room that was the first sentence he heard from the muscular woman.
Not knowing what she wanted Fraser replied in a cool voice:
“It was a good time, didn’t really do much.”
An awkward silence spread through the corner when suddenly one the muscular woman spoke once again:
“I need more basic strengthening potions as well as basic wound mending potions. Are you willing to trade?”
Fraser immediately knew that the last part wasn’t a question. It was a threat.
However as there is no possibility that he is able to fight against the muscular woman, Fraser could only accept the trade.
Some people might say that Fraser is the one getting threatened, however as he now didn’t have to look for meat one could say that this small trade solved one of his biggest Problems.
So naturally, Fraser walked back towards his chamber after agreeing on trading meat with basic wound mending and basic strengthening potions.
As Fraser acquired his meat with ease by trading it for a few potions he decided to create a potion stock in order to be able to trade whenever he wanted without having to create the potion.
Creating the potion wasn’t hard for Fraser anymore as he had the assistance of the AI which decreased his failure rate of creating a potion to almost zero percent.
Having around 1500 materials for every basic potion allowed Fraser to have an almost unlimited pile of materials laying in his private chambers.
As he already ordered for a few hundred dozen glass flasks in order to store the basic potions Fraser had enough materials for a few thousand basic potions which only needed the time to be created.

To be honest Fraser already felt that creating these basic potions seemed to be too easy. Creating these potions with the Alchemy set didn’t seem to be a difficult task for him anymore and the only thing limiting his brewing speed was the fact that the Alchemy set he had was something designed for beginners or apprentices who started to get into Alchemy.
‘I need to acquire a better Alchemy magic tool as quickly as I can. But since the outpost is rather limited to resources like magic tools and information which can only be found at the howling abyss academy, I probably have to wait until the three years are over. Until then I still have more than 2 years.’
Shaking his head Fraser sighed inwardly.
‘I want to test so many things, yet if the Alchemy Set gets destroyed then I wouldn’t even be able to create a potion, which would result in me not being able to trade properly. Better to create the potions slow and not get impatient or else I might slay the golden egg laying goose.’
An entire week passed and Fraser entered a state where he only woke up in order to create potions.
He tried to meditate whenever his spirit got low, however, the result depressed him.
His spirit increased by a really tiny amount and only refilled whenever Fraser tried to meditate.
But as his spirit already reached past the 7 marks it never happened as whenever Fraser used up spirit in order to use the Alchemy Set, it would automatically regenerate with his own regeneration.
At the end of the week, Fraser created around two hundred basic wound mending and basic strengthening potions each.
Which, considered the fact that Fraser only needed ten minutes for one basic potion meant that Fraser almost used his entire time to create potions.

The rest of the time was spent sleeping, which considering Fraser's high physical body meant a few hours, playing with the baby bat which surprisingly seemed to take a lot of mental burden from Fraser and eating.
When the time to trade with the muscular woman arrived, Fraser took around 30 flasks of the basic wound mending and the basic strengthening potion with him and stepped outside of his private chamber.
As the inner circle members all had a private chamber in the same section of the outpost, Fraser finished the trade only a few steps in front of his private chamber.
A huge pile of flesh appeared behind the muscular man who immediately started to speak:
“So Fraser, you have the thirty basic wound mending and strengthening potions?”
With a short nod, Fraser replied to the younger brother of the muscular woman before scanning the huge pile of corpses behind the muscular man with a short spirit brand.
After all the yellow insect “swallowed” his spirit brand so anything dangerous would probably react in a similar way.
Warily Fraser kicked one of the corpses as if being afraid of another encounter similar to the yellow insect.
However, as he needed the pile of corpses in order to feed his future servants Fraser could only agree.
“Where are the other two piles of corpses? I thought we agreed upon three huge piles of corpses for sixty potions?” asked Fraser while glancing towards the muscular man.
“Take it or leave it, give me the sixty potions.” snorted the muscular man while grabbing Fraser's wrist.
“What? You dare?” said Fraser shocked before he could only block a fist.
Shocked from the surprise attack the muscular man hit a full-blown attack right into Fraser's chest, causing him to get thrown onto the wall.
*Crash*
Stunned from the blow Fraser slowly stood up while the muscular woman smiled dumbly before taking away the sixty potions with him and leaving the pile of corpses next to Fraser's private chamber.
Anger streamed through Fraser's veins.
‘How dare he? How dare the muscular woman back down on deal?’
However, it was too late to take back his potions as Fraser could only hear faint steps.
With an angry mood, Fraser slowly transported the pile of flesh into his private chamber, corpse by corpse.
Finishing the task Fraser moved towards his bed while holding a basic wound mending potion in his hand.
Though he was able to block the attack of the muscular man for a certain extent, the surprise attack hit him with full force.
As Fraser examined the injury a surprise awaited him.
A crack appeared on his chest as if a crack appeared on wood.
Touching his chest Fraser felt that everything was normal, however as he slowly used other objects like a ruler or a glass flask to hit his chest in a weak manner he could clearly hear that it wasn’t the sound of hitting flesh.
Instead, it sounded like hitting an armor.
After testing his newfound armor for a short moment Fraser drank the basic wound mending potion which resulted in filling his entire body with a comfortable and warm feeling.
Looking into the mirror Fraser could see how the crack on his chest visible shrank until it disappeared.
Just as Fraser wanted to continue his experiments and create his first servant a voice sounded from his door.
“All inner circle apprentices are summoned to go to the inner circle room within fifteen minutes. I, Magus Sept order you to appear. Whoever doesn’t appear will have their membership of the inner circle revoked.”
