《Grand Magus》Chapter 30 Frasers Alchemy Theory

Before even starting to read about the steps he needed to do Fraser obviously took out the material needed for the basic wound mending potion.
The material he got was a small red stone, similar to the size of the black fire egg needed for the basic explosion potion.
Glancing towards the crate which was filled with the materials for the basic strengthening potion Fraser could see small stones with the color of orange.
Fraser noted the similarity between each material as each had similar sizes and felt similar to stone except the color was different.
‘AI, what are these materials?’
[From the database the red stone which is similar to the size of the black fire eggs are bloodstones, a mineral found underground. The orange stones, also similar to the size of the black fire eggs and the bloodstones are called enor stones, also a mineral found underground]
‘Ai can these minerals be found at the howling abyss outpost? It seems that the outpost produces something which Magus Sept has to protect. Also, the disciples are probably searching for various test subjects as well as minerals and plants to experiment upon as most senior apprentices have that aura which should have been caused by the experiences they gather at the outpost.’
[There is a high chance that the outpost has both minerals]
‘Good, then I will probably have an unlimited supply for the potions.’
Finishing his thought about the similar materials of the three potions, Fraser moved back to the recipe of the basic wound mending potion and started to extract the essence of the bloodstone with his Alchemy set.
The extraction of the essence was easy as Fraser already was familiar with the process of extracting.
As Fraser continued to follow the recipe step by step a mistake happened, two essences reacted too fast and Fraser didn’t fuse these two with the third essence he got.

So Fraser started the entire process again. This time quickly finishing the extracting process and working on the fusion part where he fused everything.
Quickly a finished basic wound mending potion appeared in a small flask.
Shaking the small flask caused the blue liquid in it to swap from one side to the other.
‘Blue liquid is a successfully crafted potion with standard quality, a light blue potion is a lower quality product.’
Satisfied with his successfully created basic wound mending potion Fraser glanced at his Alchemy set. The magic item looked mysterious and felt like the only thing in his room that indicated his identity as an Apprentice and somebody who could use magic.
The sphere in which he usually extracted the essence was rather strange as there was no essence left behind.
‘How come the sphere cleans itself from the two different essences I extracted? Does it has some kind of cleaning enhancement?’
Fraser touched the sphere with his fingers and started to look for anything that could indicate the former existence of the essences.
‘What are these essences anyway? Does it mean I am extracting the concentrated thing from the materials? Or does everything have essence and the sphere is only there to collect it?’
At first Fraser believed that he merely extracted the concentrated liquid from the material, however, the fusion part made it somehow seem unbelievable.
Thus Fraser started making his own theories about Alchemy.
Yet as he was in the outpost right now he couldn’t experiment with the Alchemy Set.
‘A pity, I only have this second handed Alchemy set and didn’t buy another one. That means I can’t experiment on this Alchemy set and have to wait till the three years are over. Yet that doesn’t mean I can’t make theories about Alchemy or the process of creating a potion. After all there will be many potions which I will create in these three years.’

Finishing his thoughts Fraser moved towards the next bloodstone and continued to create basic wound mending potions with success.
As Fraser continued to craft new basic wound mending potions his success rate almost hit 100%. Not counting his first attempt which resulted in failure because of unfamiliarity and one attempt where he hadn’t that much spirit left, left him with around eight basic wound mending potions which all shined in the color blue.
Finishing his goal of crafting potions Fraser started to mediate in order to increase his spirit, sometimes he would add a session of the Basic Knight Apprentice Breathing Technique which allowed his former bottlenecked body stats to climb one again.
As the bottleneck was around the number seven, maybe a little bit less than seven Fraser also recalculated his body stats to 1.00 in order to calculate quicker on how much power he had when he reached the peak of the Knight Apprentice rank compared to his previous stats. Also, it seemed to be easier to sort these specific stages into separate folders in order to access the information.
‘AI, show me my body stats.’
[1.03 strength, 1.04 agility, 1.02 vitality, 1.09/3.23 spirit]
Nodding inwardly Fraser started to meditate again while putting a few session of the Knight breathing technique in between the breaks in order to reach the rank of knight apprentice.
Days passed as Fraser continued to craft his potion materials into actual potions. In the end, Fraser was able to create around seventy-five wound mending potions from the eighty bloodstones he bought in the howling abyss academy.
Naturally, Fraser moved towards crafting the strengthening potion afterward in order to increase his potions crafting skills.
The strengthening potion wasn’t that much different compared the basic explosion potion and the basic wound mending potion so I was no wonder that he created seventy-nine basic strengthening potions out of eighty materials.
One month at the outpost flew by in the blink of an eye as Fraser used up his entire stock of materials and created the three potions.
As Fraser did not make any mistake while creating the basic explosion potion he had one hundred additionally basic explosion potions awaiting him in his chambers.
Now that Fraser solidified his Alchemy skills in crafting potions he moved towards another project which needed to be worked upon.
It was the spell model dark rope.
Fraser already formed his spell model dark rope for quite a while, yet he didn’t use it much except for forming that log of the color black which couldn’t even be controlled.
So Fraser moved towards an empty room and prepared himself. He stretched his hand palm in front of him, closed his eyes and accessed his spirit room.
He could see the outside vaguely as the jelly walls of his spirit room didn’t restrict his spirit from seeing into the outside world.
A small runic ball floated in the spirit room and Fraser accessed the small runic ball causing the runes on the spell model ball to lighten up and Fraser could feel something gathering.
‘AI, record this feeling of gathering as the spell model activation and continue to create a folder will all spell model activation of spell models. Also, create a sub-folder within the spell model folder and name it dark rope.’
[Folders created]
As Fraser spirit increased he could see the particles that gathered in order to form a spell in a clearer way.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
