《Grand Magus》Chapter 3 Wildland Border City

Fraser clenched his fists in anger.
‘Does my family give a sh*t about my life? There are about 1500-2000 children in this wooden carriage train. There is no way that all of them would achieve the state of Magus, or else every single noble would be one.’
Eating a piece of a dried meat Fraser sighed inwardly.
‘It doesn’t matter anymore, I already travelled more than 6 months in this wooden carriage, even if I wanted to go back it would only be a waste of time. Besides it doesn’t matter if it is a Magus organization related to my family or not. The only thing mattering in this world is power, my father has more than 5 wives and countless mistresses. The only reason why he has that many is because he is a Master Knight.’
Closing his eyes Fraser played with the small hunting knife in order to get a feeling of handling a knife.
The following days Fraser avoided social interaction entirely. He even avoided William by staying in his wooden carriage all day while eating his daily bow of stew and piece of bread in the carriage.
Naturally Fraser also continued the Basic Knight Breathing Technique and achieved a huge increase in power since the small memory loss appeared.
‘AI show me my Body stats.’
[1.26 strength, 1.51 agility, 1.57 vitality]
‘My stats are improving so much as the number 1.00 in a single stat is a weak and frail 12 year old like the me from a few days becore.’
Since the mind of Fraser became clearer and clearer he somehow was able to think outside the box, as if he suddenly read a lot of books or got taught a few lessons.
‘Yet an improvement of 51% in agility and 26% in strength is remarkable. Though I don’t know what vitality influences in general, it won’t hurt that my body has more vitality than the one from a few days ago.’

The wooden carriage train neared the Wildland Border city and were only half a day travel distance from it. So the information according to the knight caretakers.
‘AI, is there enough data to analyze the Basic Knight Breathing Technique to decrease the mild injuries? I already did the Basic Knight Breathing Technique 3 times, the data definitely should have increased. Is it enough?’
[There is a possible correction in the first few breathing rhythm and the ending position, yet it is not advised to follow the correction as there is still not enough data. As the changing of the Breathing Knight Technique could lead to major injuries for the body. In the most severe case of correction the body will receive an irreparable damage]
‘Is there enough data to know why the Basic Knight Breathing Technique allows my body to get stronger and stronger while at the same time increases my vitality?’
[The Basic Knight Breathing Technique stimulates the metabolism of the body in order to increase the building of muscles and body tissues. It also increases the hardness of the bones. More information is needed in order to know how the technique stimulates the body]
Fraser continued to ask the AI if the data of three training sessions with the Basic Knight Breathing Technique could lead to a grand conclusion.
Yet in most cases there was not enough data for the AI to analyze.
As the wooden carriage train arrived at the Wildland Border City it was welcomed by the highest authorities of the city. The two mysterious beings who probably were able to use magic or were of the Rank Magus got flattered by the authorities beyond the horizon.
“Ah sir magus must be exhausted from the traveling. How about you visit one of my few baths in order to relax a bit? My son is…..”
Instead of listening how the authorities flattered the mysterious two Magus, Fraser turned towards the small market which opened next to the wooden carriage train as soon as it arrived in the Wildland Border City.

One of the caretakers shouted: “We will stay in this City for one week, if you want to spend your leftover money then do it now. We will then cross the Wildland.”
This shocked many normal people at the market place.
“Are they mad? It is not possible to cross the Wildlands, it has no end!”
“Shhh, they are Magus. I heard that they are able to torture you even after you die, you don’t want even want to mingle with them, least taunt them.”
The many children, especially the children with little to no background grinned like they were insane.
‘I bet they are arrogantly thinking that they are now one step above the rest. As even the nobles licked the boots of the two mysterious beings.’
Strolling around the market place Fraser soon found what he was searching for. He exchanged his money for a leather armor with growth straps in order to have an armor that would last even if he grew, a short sword which in his 12 year old hand appeared to be like a real sword and his best equipment so far: a crossbow with 15 Bolts of high quality including a bag to hold them all.
Fraser was happy as the blacksmith even gave him a cloak after he haggled for a while.
But the prices would be understandable as the Wildland Border City economy lived of their adventures who would bravely adventure into the Wildlands to hunt monsters or harvest ores or herbs.
Thus there were a lot of practical artisans like weaponsmith, armorsmith or general blacksmith and the “beauty” artisans like barber, sculptor or even pet barber disappeared completely.
A few days passed as the wooden carriage train stayed at the Wildland Border City, the meal for the children appeared splendid. A stew with meat in it and a piece of bread which was two times bigger than the usual bread.
As there were thousands of kids Fraser easily took a second serving or even a third serving of the stew and bread.
Fraser even saw William devouring the so called “peasant” food with meat pieces in it.
‘I guess traveling for so long makes anyone less picky.’
The real surprise appeared three days after the wooden carriage train took a break in the Wildland Border City. A wooden carriage train arrived at the Wildland Border City, though it was not only one train. Instead three trains appeared.
Fraser calculated the amount of children with a simple calculations and frowned. Every single new train had more children than his own train.
To put it simply there were no place for a “solo” carriage like him, instead every carriage held a group of 20-30 children and some even looked like they were nobles.
Fraser could hear a short conversation between the mysterious and masked figures of each train.
“So the last acolyte is late, we will start the formation as soon as the week is over.”
The week soon neared it’s end and the last wooden carriage train appeared. Soon the real journey through the Wildland will begin.
Though Fraser feared the dangers in the Wildland there was progression in his Basic Knight Breathing Technique. He already did 7 session of the Basic Knight Breathing Technique and a message of the AI appeared.
‘Finally.’
[Enough Data to correct the disadvantage of the Basic Knight Breathing technique, it will remove the mild injuries and allow for more practice session without any serious repercussions]

Rebirth of Destiny I
In a world where magical runes called Rebirths rest in the hands of hostile nations, fourteen-year-old Aiden lived a quiet life in a small town conveniently named Khalm. Born with crescent-shaped irises and silver hair, young Aiden was never bothered by his unusual birthmarks until the night his life as a simple delivery boy changed. He was the 'Rebirth Destroyer', someone ruling powers deemed a threat. Chased by death and the foretelling of the world ending by his hands, Aiden soon finds that there are few people he can trust. My stories are fantasy-based and heavily influenced by classic Final Fantasy games ( by classic I mean 1-10 ) and other Japanese Role-Playing Games I used to enjoy, with one difference; the main characters are Black. July 2022 update! After months of deliberation, I've decided to continue with this cast of characters in the next books instead. The loose ends in this story have been keeping me up all night. I've gotten started on 2 sequels to this; Rebirth of Destiny II based on the good ending and the alternative ending. After I get a good backlog built up they'll be published once a week.
