Midnight where the moon is at its peak and the village is asleep. Outside the village, a group of adults was gathering and the chief was among them. Once they were sure that everyone was gathered the chief stood in front of them.
The chief looked to be in his late sixty with lush white hair and wrinkles but showed no sign of dying anytime soon with his strength.
“I’m sure you all seen or heard about our visitor today,” The chief said.
The crowd all nodded as it rare to have visitors in their tiny village so rumor flies fast. Seeing that they all know the chief moved on to the topic of why he gathered them.
“All of you should know that a sacrifice must be chosen soon so we can have bright five years to come. This is the reason I gathered you tonight is we are going to use that young girl as the sacrifice. For the other two slay the old man and capture the boy as he could sell well as a slave.” The chief said.
The group looked at each other feeling this is not right but they didn’t want to use their children as a sacrifice. Seeing that the crowd were hesitating the chief smiled and said:
“Don’t worry I used sleeping powered that could eighty strong men to sleep in an instant on them, all you have to do is tie them up,” the chief said dispelling any hesitation.
Inside the wooden house, Old Moon was sitting in a wooden chair listening in on their conservation. With his current cultivation, how can he not hear them when he could hear everything in hundred miles radius if he so chooses.
“So, this village has token up slave trading and sacrifice in the last thirties years since I was last here,” Old Moon said with a sigh.

He continues to sit there as the group of men headed toward them. The one leading them was Hawk who Lucifer and Luna saw training the children.
“This could be a good lesson to them of never letting their guard down,” Old Moon thought as he pretended to sleep.
The group began to sneak around the hut and peek through the windows checking if they're actually asleep. After making sure they were asleep Hawk quietly opened the door and step through.
“Not yet Lucifer, wait until we’re are older,” Luna mumbled in her sleep.
“No, Luna how dare you to devour all these heavenly food,” Lucifer said in his sleep.
Hearing the sleep talk Hawk slowly approached but he accidentally steps on a loose board. The sound of a squeak board echo in the hut caused Lucifer to fling up half asleep with his heavy sword drawn.
Seeing that Lucifer sit up Hawk decided to leave quickly but accidentally ran into the table causing Lucifer to hear movement. He quickly swung his sword cutting down Hawk. Seeing that that it was dangerous to stay the rest of the villager ran and since they weren’t the quietest Lucifer quickly followed suit.
‘Ah, that reminds me, if someone interrupts Lucifer when he sleeping he will attack anything that moves,’ Old Moon thought as he remembers Lucifer attacking him when he did it once.
When the villager ran back to the village they were yelling devil causing everyone to wake up and scramble out of their house.
“What going on George?” an older man in his pajamas asks.
“It a Devil!” He shouts before a sword went through his head.
Behind the falling corpse was Lucifer covered in blood as bodies littered the streets behind him. When the man saw this, he tried to run only to meet with a sword. As more seen what was happening in the village the more they continue to run causing Lucifer who still half asleep to rampage even more.

Scream and tears echo throughout the village as some died in pain while others were crushed by Lucifer. Men, women, and children slowly formed into a mountain as Lucifer nearly wipe out the village.
“Stop this I will give you beasts eggs. So please spare me,” The chief said begging on his knees.
Lucifer simple crushed him with his sword and carried on his way. Up in the sky, Old Moon simple looked down on Lucifer rampage holding Luna in his arms out of harm way. Seeing that all the villager was killed by Lucifer and a mountain of corpses were formed he simply shook his head.
‘I better get rid of the bodies before a cultivation discovers this,’ Old Moon thought waving his hand causing all the corpse to vanish.
“Now what should I do with you,” He thought looking at Lucifer who fell asleep holding his sword without a care in the world.
The next morning inside the wooden hut Lucifer woke up with a small yawn and began to stretch his body. See the other two were awake eating breakfast he joined them.
“Good morning.” Lucifer greeted them.
“Did you enjoy your sleep.” Old Moon said with a slight smile.
“Yeah, I had a dream where I was running through a field filled with delicious food,” Lucifer said.
Hearing Lucifer takes about the dream he had Old Moon smile turn wry as he felt pity for the village who died because they interrupt his dream about food.
“Well finish up fast as we have a day of travel ahead of us,” Old Moon said.
“Got it,” Luna and Lucifer said gulping down their food.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Mystic Nan
Note: Currently undergoing rewrite, we'll be back soon!(If you enjoy this story, it would help immensely if you considered voting for it at topwebfiction, thank you.) Nan Beauchamp, like many youths of the year 2000-something; will live, work, and die as less than a footnote of a footnote within the abridged history of unremarkable years. This suits her fine. Too bad about the truck that turned her into paste, then. Luckily, or unluckily, fate deigned to give the poor girl another chance to make something of herself in a bizarre universe brimming with magic, spaceships, and... giant talking spiders? This "second chance" seems less than ideal. (A web serial import from Wordpress)
