《Legacy of the Ancient》Chapter 33 - The Prideful Water Saint

“Let me handle him, Sir,” said the female teacher. She was calmer than Isore.
“No, I’ll handle him myself. This brat has to feel my lesson directly,” Tirkogara replied.
With a hand movement, Tirkogara casted water magic. Water appeared around his body. As he took a stance, the water flowed around his body.
“(Again? More elemental creation magic?)” thought Cain. He also took a stance, the water from the lake was swirling towards him. Floating behind him as a huge ball of water.
“Huh! Just manipulation magic? Pff! It won’t stand a chance against me! Manipulation magic alone is already a let down!” sneered Tirkogara. He clenched his fist, as he punched the air, the water around him turned into three water fists as big as him and flew towards Cain.
Cain’s huge water ball splashed and formed a thick half sphere barrier in front him.
The fists exploded when they collided with Cain’s water barrier. Cain jumped backward to get away from the water. But another fist was coming from above. He formed a thin high density wave from whatever left of his barrier and split the fist in two.
Tirkogara already casted another magic, eight water drills was floating around him.
“Freis, take Isore and the students away from here, but close enough to see him getting obliterated by my magic,” Tirkogara laughed.
The teacher called Freis nodded, she took the students away from there. Then, they watched the fight from a safe distance.
Tirkogara pointed his right palm towards Cain. As he clenched his fist, the water drills flew towards Cain one by one. Tirkogara with his eight water drills bombarded Cain.
Cain jumped aside after he tapped the sand with his hand when the first water drill came to him. Then, he tapped another spot before he dodged another water drill. He kept dodging the drills as he moved, circling the Water Saint. The water drills exploded around the area, but the place where Beil took cover was untouched, Cain made sure not to let the drills touched Beil’s shelter by moving to certain spots.
All the drills missed the target, Cain had already back to his initial spot. He opened his left palm, water was swirling from the lake onto his palm, forming a water ball as big as his head.
“You won't be able to dodge this one!” said Tirkogara. He raised his right hand, then, a water ball also appeared above his hand, but much bigger than Cain’s.
Cain quickly threw his water ball to Tirkogara’s water ball. It did not explode upon contact, it slipped into the bigger water ball instead. A second later, Tirkogara’s water ball popped, but it was not a threat for Tirkogara. It was like a giant balloon of water popped above his head. It soaked Tirkogara’s robe, with his own water.
Tirkogara stood still, but his face clearly showed a rage.
Cain kneeled on one knee and lightly tapped the sand. A yellow light sparked on the spot he tapped. The spark ignited other sparks on the spots where Cain tapped the sand when he dodged the water drills. Eight spots sparked with yellow lightning, all of them sparked around the Water Saint, shaping an eight-sided polygon, an octagram. Tirkogara was in the center of it. It was a wide octagram, the diameter was about 24 meters.
The sparks were getting violent, then, a complex rune appeared inside the octagram. Electrocuting everything inside the the octagram.
With Tirkogara’s soaked robe, Cain assumed it would amplify the electrocution intensity, but the Water Saint wasn't even looked electrocuted even a bit. There was a water circle around his feet, the lightning couldn't bypass that that. When the lightning spark had calmed. Tirkogara had no wound at all.

“Lightning magic, huh? You certainly surprised me. But I wouldn’t be a Water Saint if I can’t handle that,” scoffed Tirkogara.
“I see, pure water, isn’t it?” said Cain as he stood up.
“Heh, I thought you would be a clueless man!” Tirkogara had a smug look on his face, “correct, pure water is an insulator, unlike those water from the lake that contains so many dissolved ions, which is a good conductor. Even if you try to soak me with water from the lake, I can purify it with my own water!”
“(That’s why! He’s relying on his own creation magic to prevent his enemy to take advantage of his element! I thought he only used elemental creation magic because its superiority!... Probably superiority took the biggest part in it as he mocked manipulation magic earlier.)” thought Cain.
“That’s it? Come on, show me more, But heed this, I will never be electrocuted! You better start begging!“ said Tirkogara.
“You asked for it. Don’t worry, this is not to electrocute you!” said Cain. Then, yellow lightning sparked on his palm.
The octagram was glowing. A second later, yellow lightning erupted from the entire octagram. Unlike the first one, it meant to strike, like a bolt of lightning from a storm cloud, but it was from the ground instead.
“Guh!” Tirkogara was struck by the yellow lightning, his robe absorbed most of the damage, “this is nothi-!”
Another lightning flashed from the octagram. It was more intense than before.
“Grahh!” growled Tirkogara.
The third lightning, the largest one struck him. It made a thunderous sound as the last one struck. The octagram slowly dispersed after that.
It was Gomara’s lightning magic, Eight Cardinal Points of Soiled Lightning.
Tirkogara kneeled on the ground, his robe was partially burned. But his condition was fine.
Freis was wide-eyed, she couldn’t believe that man was able to make the Water Saint kneeled. She wasn't even confident she could make Tirkogara moved from his spot.
The students were aghast, they thanked themselves they did not taste those lightning strikes.
Tirkogara gritted his teeth as he got up. “You fucking brat!” the Water Saint glared at Cain, he lost his composure.
“Still standing? mages in here must’ve been through an excessive training against magic, huh?” said Cain.
“You’ll mock me no more!” yelled Tirkogara. He was angry, he never thought he would be forced on his knees by some random man.
Tirkogara curled his body, then, he swung his hands up as he arched his back. Water appeared far above him, forming a shape, a gigantic shape.
“Look! That’s how a Water Saint obliterates his enemy!” said Freis to the amazed students.
The water formed a gigantic blue whale. It was in a diagonal position as its back faced Cain. As if it were breaching from the sea. It was a spectacular view, a gigantic blue whale was flying in the sky, but not for Cain, he was in the shade of the whale.
“Eat my magic!” shouted Tirkogara. The water whale fell down as he sharply lowered his hands towards Cain.
“Shit! Beil!?” Cain realized Beil was still here, he looked at Beil, “Beil! Run to the lake! Get away from there! Now!”
“Me-meip!” Beil hesitated, he looked worried.
Cain looked back at the falling gigantic whale in the sky, “Don’t worry about me! Go!” Cain shouted as he casted a five-layered arched stone wall. Between each layer, sand was added.
Beil ran as fast as he could to the lake, looked back a bit, then ran faster.

“So this the power of a Water Saint!” Cain grinned. “Damn! This won’t be enough!” Cain casted more layers to the wall. Even though the wall stood six times taller than him, it still looked small compared to the gigantic whale.
“Begone, brat!” said Tirkogara.
The blue whale struck the shore of Olren Lake.
Cain’s wall couldn't even held the falling whale for a split second, it crushed into pieces instantly, and Cain, swallowed by the water. The sand was thrown everywhere as the whale splashed into huge towering water. The ground trembled, making a rippling wave on the lake. The shore had been devastated by Tirkogara’s Whale Breaching water magic.
After a while, the water finally calmed down.
Tirkogara looked around, he saw some of Cain’s wall rubble, but he saw no man in his view. He smiled, a satisfaction filled his face. He brushed off his robe.
Freis and the students came to him from behind. Two students were carrying Isore.
“You swept him with stunning magic, Sir, as always,” said Freis.
Tirkogara turned around. “That was nothing, easy win!” he laughed.
The students looked at Tirkogara proudly.
“Heh, that’s what you get for messing with a Water Saint,” Tirkogara scoffed, “well, looks like we have to change place to continue the practice.”
“Shall we take a break, Sir? With Isore that’s still unconscious and all,” said Freis.
“Hmph…” Tirkogara rubbed his beard, “you’re right, we proba-”
With a loud sound, the sand behind Tirkogara exploded. He and the others were startled.
A figure appeared from the rising smoke.
They could hear the panting and coughing.
“Ha-ah… I just had deja vu… it felt like those jet water cannon from years ago,” Cain wiped his face with his hand, “but, this one is weaker. Thank Goddess, Lexa and the old man used to hit me a lot harder. But I must say, Water Saint’s magic is no joke.”
The speed when Tirkogara casted the Whale Breaching was astonishing, he formed a gigantic whale just under five seconds. It needed an extraordinary focus and concentration to make something like that.
“Impossible! He survived that!?” gasped Freis.
“(How!? Probably his earth magic! Tch! More importantly, with that whale flying in the sky just now, people from the city must be coming here right now to investigate. And if they know I used my high level magic just to deal with him and failed, I’ll be a laughing stock!)” Tirkogara panicked.
“That attack was meant to kill, huh?” said Cain. He looked over to the lake. “(Hopefully Beil made it.)” Cain himself did not suffer any injury, he survived Tirkogara’s Whale Breaching unscathed thanks to countless water attacks from Igo and Lexa back in the day.
“You! Who are you? Are you a spy!?” shouted Tirkogara.
“(I must finish this fast, that whale must’ve attracted the people of Havelvaih. It would be bad if they find out I’m fighting one of their rulers.)” thought Cain.
He looked at the Water Saint. “I’m not. Come, let’s finish this!” exclaimed Cain.
Cain raised his right hand. Flame appeared around his forearm. Accumulated above his palm, forming a heat-emanating fireball as big as his palm with lightning sparks circling the fireball.
“Is he a fool? He’s using fire magic against us, Water mages?” said Freis.
“...” Tirkogara just stared at Cain, ignoring Freis.
“I’ll finish him, Sir!” said Freis. She casted water magic, three giant seahorses-shaped water lances appeared above her diagonally. As she snapped her fingers, the water lances launched towards Cain with a ballistic trajectory.
Cain stood still as the lances came. Those water lances suddenly evaporated when it came near Cain, as if there were an invisible heat barrier in front of him.
“Stand down, Freis,” said Tirkogara.
“But, Sir!”
“He’s more dangerous than I think,” responded Tirkogara.
Suddenly, blue flame intruded Cain’s fireball flow on the forearm. The blue flame ravaged his red fireball, then turned it blue.
“(What? Azure flame? But I did not active the bracelet,)” Cain looked surprised, then he glanced at the Bracelet of Azure Mysticbone, it was still in bracelet form.
The lightning sparks around the fireball were getting more intense, also the heat, it was getting hotter by the second. Cain’s body was soaking wet, but not from the water earlier, but from his sweat.
The heat also reached Tirkogara and the others.
“What’s with this heat!? I can even see a heat haze around him!” Freis wiped her sweaty forehead.
And the students, with their panic expressions. Even the breeze did not help with the heat.
“Get away from here, Freis,” said Tirkogara, “as far as you can,” he continued.
“Sir?”
“That man’s ability, it’s nothing to sneeze at, and I have a bad feeling about that blue flame,” Tirkogara looked intensely at the blue flame.
Cain frowned as he looked at the fireball. He was still confused about the blue flame.
“This heat... the fireball is getting stronger because of the blue flame?... I’ll worry about this later.” he said. Then he pointed the fireball towards Tirkogara. He saw the other teacher and the students went away.
Tirkogara put his both hands in front of his chest. A water ball was condensing on his chest. His robe fluttered as the water ball came to completion. The water ball had two water rings on its outer layer. Inside the water ball, there was a creature, wriggling.
Cain and Tirkogara stared at each other. Cain just grinned.
“Rraaah!” Tirkogara shot his water ball, it flew straight towards Cain.
Cain took his right foot forward, with a stomp from his right foot, the fireball fired from his palm. The lightning formed a tail-like electrical current behind the fireball.
Cain’s fireball, with its lightning tail, was coming towards Tirkogara’s water ball. The sand was flying everywhere when those balls made their ways, into their inevitable collision.
Then, the creature inside the water ball came out. A giant moray with tiger-like stripe, flying towards Cain’s fireball.
Cain pulled his hand as he clenched his fist. A lightning spark and a blaze of blue flame escaped from his palm before he formed a perfect fist. Cain’s fireball became unstable, then, it burst out, forming a giant blazing head of a fierce dog. It’s three times bigger than the eel. The blazing dog growled as it showed off its lightning fangs.
Cain used Scorching Lightning Canines, Gomara’s double elemental magic.
When they collided, the dog wiped the eel with its snout. The Water Saint’s eel reduced into ashes when it touched the dog, the ashes were scattered in the air. Cain’s dog was making its way to Tirkogara.
“No way!? That can’t be! Grrr!” Tirkogara desperately casted four thick massive water cubes, straight-lined between him and the blazing dog head.
The dog accelerated even more, the water cubes could only evaporated when the dog forced its way through.
Tirkogara encircled himself with dozens floating water shields.
With its mouth wide open, the dog pounced on the Water Saint and his water shields.
