《Legacy of the Ancient》Chapter 25 - The Coronation Day

Cain arrived in Haneama Palace at night. When he was at the gate, Beil ran and jumped at him.
“Meip!”
“Woaah!” Cain caught Beil on his arms. “I bet you smell the snacks in my bag!” said Cain.
“Mee~eip.”
Cain opened his waist bag and gave some snacks to Beil.
“Beiillll.” a voice came to them. It was Jared’s voice.
“Ah, there you are.” said Jared.
“‘Sup, Jared?”
“Yoo, heard you went to Harnow.”
“Yeah, just got back. I see you’re taking care of my friend here.” said Cain.
“I am, he ran out when he was playing at the fountain with Meira. I was near, then she asked me to find him. Guess he knew you’d come.”
Beil stuffed his mouth with the snacks.
“He is,” Cain petted Beil. “How’s the preparation for tomorrow?” asked Cain.
“Great. Some of the guests have arrived this noon.” Jared replied.
“Hmm yeah… think I saw some expensive looking carts on my way here. Alright, I’ll get some rest.”
“Okay, I’ll tell Meira Beil is with you.”
Cain nodded then left for his room and immediately rest.
…
Cain was awoken by fireworks boom in the morning. He looked around and saw Beil at the door.
“Mee~eip.” Beil was scratching the door, he wanted to go out.
After Cain opened the door and let Beil out, he took a bath and get dressed. Cain wore a light brown slim fit trench coat. He rolled up the sleeves almost to the elbow.
He looked out from the window to the garden. His room was on the second floor and faced to a beautiful flower garden with a fountain on its center. It was the place where Meira took Beil to play.
The garden was filled with people celebrating the Coronation Day.
“Alright, let's check on Calbot. Let's go, Beil.” said Cain.
Beil was waiting him at the door. They left the room and went to the Throne Room. Where Calbot would get coronated.
Haneama Palace was full of people, they looked enthusiast for their new King.
Cain entered the Throne Room, whereas Calbot already sat on the throne. With a golden jeweled crown on his head.
“Oh Crap! I’m late!?” Cain talked to himself.
“Meip!” Beil sounded to agree.
A guard near the door saw Cain. Then he notified a man who held a rolled paper on his hand.
“Ahem! Attention!” said the man with the paper with a loud and clear voice. He was actually an announcer. He rolled out the paper he was holding.
“Master Cain of Palvaran has arrived! Please make a way!” said the announcer.
Then people there moved away to give Cain a way, straight to the throne. And of course all of the attention was focused on him.
Cain was baffled.
“Master Cain, please proceed.” The announcer bowed a bit.
“Wha- o-okay.” Cain started to walk towards the throne, with Beil beside him. “(Damn it, Calbot! What are you doing!?)” thought Cain.
He could feel everyone there was looking at him. He even heard them whispering.
“Who is this young man? Why is he bringing an otter? Is he a jester?”
“My, he’s quite handsome! I wonder who is he to King Calbot.”
“A special guest? Palvaran? Never heard a noble from wherever is that.”
Cain had a cold sweat when he had to walk through the people that was looking at him. He was walking nervously. Thankfully he didn't trip along the way.

When he arrived in front of the throne. He saw the people around him, with their appearance, they clearly weren't normal nobles. Among them, King Iligo, smirked at Cain.
Then, there she was, the Silver Rose, Ivela Caral. She wore the Kingsmight Vice Captain armor, yet her beauty shone brighter than any other women with their fancy dress in the room. She smiled a bit when their eyes met. Then, Cain shifted his gaze to Calbot.
“Congratulation, King Calbot.” Cain bowed a bit.
Jared and Meira stood beside Calbot. Jared was trying really hard not to laugh.
“(That must have been Jared’s idea!)” thought Cain.
“Thank you, Cain.” said Calbot. Then, he stood up.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this man before me is the greatest help I could get. He is the one who helped me reclaim the throne beside the Sun Knight Order. Not only he beat the undead skeleton source at Hanearian’s Rest, he also bested the infamous mercenary called the Old Beast.” said Calbot.
Calbot’s words caused an uproar in the room.
“Holy crap! Old Beast!? That Old Beast!?”
“My, my, not only handsome! He is strong too!”
“That’s true! I saw him fought toe to toe with the Old Beast when the Sun Knight Order was marching to the Palace!”
The crowd had gotten calmer after the announcer asked them to. With his loud voice of course.
“Therefore, I grant Cain of Palvaran with Master Liberator Honor for his prowess to liberate the slavery in Farferis. With that, he is forever friend to Farferis Kingdom and will be always welcome to Haneama Palace. Beil also included.” said Calbot. He looked at the crowd then at Cain and Beil.
Master Honor was the highest award granted by the King of Farferis. Usually granted to the Heroes or Innovators. It had higher social status than most nobles in that Kingdom. And also additional title for what they did. In this case, Cain got additional ‘Liberator’ title on his.
The Throne Room was so lively when the crowd gave a thunderous applause to Cain’s achievements.
“Interesting.” said the thin crowned man. He was King Givi, ruler of Hazthala Kingdom.
Kartoma, Chieftess of Un Gu Forest Tribe, nodded in response of King Givi’s remark.
While the King of Bexlima, King Jan VI was only slow clapping.
Cain was so confused to what just happened. He was just an ordinary man, but after he walked in to the Throne Room today, he just became a part of higher than nobles in Farferis society.
“Now, please enjoy the feast we’ve been prepared for you all!” said Calbot without waiting for confused Cain’s reply.
…
Haneama Palace rolled out an exquisite banquet. Worthy for the guests of the King. Calbot himself mingled with the guests.
“There you are!”
Cain was looking at the tasty food with Beil when an elderly man greeted him from behind.
“Hm? Oh? Master Aslein?” Cain turned around with some food on the plate he was holding. While Beil was stuffing his mouth with food near Cain's feet.
“Ah! I’m the one who supposed to find you, right?” said Cain.
“It’s okay, thought I didn't know you are such an accomplished man, Master Cain.” said Master Aslein.
“Ah, hahaha, truth is I don't know what to say, I rarely being on the spotlight like before. And would you please drop the ‘Master’?” Cain scratched his head.
“It’s your title, Master Cain, not many outsiders are granted a title over the history of Farferis. Wear it proudly.” responded Master Aslein.

“Err… alright.” Cain shrugged.
“Then, was it true you bested Bartega?” Master Aslein looked curious.
“Not really, I just broke his sword then he fled.”
“You broke his sword!? You broke the legendary sword Hot Steel Jirjax!?” Master Aslein seemed so surprised.
“Yeah, with the Gauntlet. Anyway, how about the results?” said Cain. He was more eager to hear the result of his bone.
“Ah! Thats right! The result is astonishing! Here!” Master Aslein handed Cain a rolled paper.
Cain rolled down the rolled paper after he put down his plate on the table. “What am I looking at?”
“Look at the red number, it’s on each of your bracelet transformations.”
“Hmm… it's increasing. What’s that mean?” asked Cain.
“Those are your bone mass! That means your bones wasn’t sucked by the Gauntlet, instead, it gave more mass. Such as minerals and calcium were given by the Gauntlet!” said Master Aslein enthusiastically.
“What!? Is it true!?” said Cain.
Master Aslein nodded. “I’ll just summarize this for you; the more you use the Gauntlet, the stronger your bones will get!”
“is… is it good?”
“Of course! Imagine if you use it often, how strong your bones would become!? Harder than Steel? Adamantium? Or even Archtitanium? Who knows!? The probability is infinity because it depends on you. And don't worry about too much calcium on your body, from the data, it’s clearly the bracelet is controlling and organizing your minerals and calcium in your body.” said Master Aslein.
“I see…” Cain rubbed his chin. “(Then this is indeed a jackpot!)” thought Cain.
“This is truly a magnificent relic! It’s ancient, yet it works more advanced than what we have right now. Keep it well, Master Cain.” said Master Aslein while looking at the Bracelet of Azure Mysticbone.
“I wonder though, does it have the characteristic of an ordinary bone?” Master Aslein continued.
“You mean a broken bone become stronger after it heals?” responded Cain.
Master Aslein nodded.
One of the foundations of martial arts was bones, martial artists often trained until they broke their bones and let it heal naturally in order to get a stronger bones.
“Hmm…” Cain was thinking maybe it's a yes, he recalled his battle against Delmourga. Delmourga got far stronger after he healed his cracked bones. But Cain couldn't scale it when he fought Bartega. The damage Bartega caused to the Gauntlet was far too small compared to what Cain did to Delmourga.
“Well it's for you to find. But beware, ordinary bone also weakens when you barely to put use of it.” said Master Aslein.
“Noted, then, this is the payment, Master Aslein.” Cain took a pouch from his pocket and handed it to Master Aslein.
“Thank you, Master Cain.” Master Aslein nodded a bit.
“Kyaa! It’s Master Cain!!”
Suddenly, a bunch of girls were approaching Cain and Master Aslein, with their thick makeup and tight corset that emphasize their chest.
“Well! Time is on my way! Good luck, Master Cain!” Master Aslein hurriedly left him.
“(Waiiiiiitttt!!!)” Cain screamed within his mind.
Within a mere secs, he was swarmed by bunch of noble girls.
Normally, Cain would flirt with any girls, but he decided to leave that habit behind when he left Arozora. Now, he was surrounded by noble girls with a overused perfume that swarmed him with a barrage of questions.
“Uhh… ladies, plea-” he really wanted to escape from this situation when a familiar voice was caught by his ears.
“There he is.” a voice came from behind the girls. An enticing voice from a woman with silver hair that tumbled to her back. It was Ivela’s.
Beside her, Igo gulped a wine from his glass.
“Alright ladies, mind if I borrow this… Master Cain?” said Igo with a smile.
Cain’s eyes and Igo’s met.
“(Good job, old man! You came at the right time!)”
“(No problem, kiddo!)”
No words were spoken when their eyes met. Only a little nod.
“Ahem! Would you mind, ladies?” said Ivela to the noble girls.
They quickly scattered before Ivela.
Igo walked to Cain with a smile. “You’ve just left Arozora for a couple of weeks, and look at you now, already have a Master title in Farferis!”
“Well, I have a good time, including my first treasure hunting!” said Cain.
“Ooh! You are having fun already! That's good!” said Igo.
“Of course!” responded Cain. Then Cain looked to Ivela.
“Hi, you look good.” said Cain
“Hi,” Ivela replied with a smile. “Thank you.” a charming smile.
“Meip!” Beil appeared near them, his mouth was full of crumb.
“This is the one called Beil?” asked Igo.
“Meip!” Beil replied with a notion as if he said ‘yes!’.”
“Anyway, where’s Bagulv? Haven't seen him.” said Cain to Igo.
“I sent him to an expe-” just when Igo was about to answer Cain’s question, Calbot, Meira and Jared approached them.
“And here I thought you wouldn't surprise me more, Cain. Yet, here you are, talking casually to the strongest person in Valfikr.” said Calbot.
“Your Majesty.” Cain smiled.
“Congratulation once again, King Calbot.” said Igo.
“Ah, I thank you from my deepest heart, King Iligo. Thank you for your support for Farferis Kingdom.” said Calbot.
“No problem, glad our Kingdom will support each other.” Igo replied.
“Indeed, and who’s this lovely lady, King Iligo?” said Calbot. He seemed astonished to see such a beauty.
“I am Ivela Caral, Your Majesty.” Ivela bowed her head.
“Oh my! Silver Rose of Kingsmight!?” Meira was surprised.
Ivela replied with a nod and a smile.
“And who is this fine lady you brought, King Calbot?” said Igo.
“Ah, this is Meira, the future Queen of Farferis.” said Calbot proudly.
“Ooh! I see!” said Igo while rubbing his beard.
“And this is Jared, the Captain of Sun Knight Order.” said Calbot as he introduced Jared.
“Ah, the renowned Sun Knight Order.” said Igo.
“Your Kingsmight is more famous than my Order, Your Majesty.” said Jared while smiling, he glanced to Ivela for a moment.
Calbot turned to Cain. “Now, I’m very curious how do you know King Iligo, Cain?” asked Calbot.
“Well, King Iligo visited the orphanage where I lived when I was a kid, several times. So, you know, the habit of talking casually from a kid is still there. Fortunately, King Iligo did not mind it.” said Cain without spilling the crucial information about their relationship.
Igo looked to Cain, he realized Cain partially hid his origin. He speculated the reason was to avoid a commotion.
“Indeed! He was a brat when I first met him! Hahahah!” Igo smacked Cain’s back and laughed.
Igo’s response made the group laughed.
Then, accompanied by Meira and Jared, Calbot talked more to Igo. They talked about the future of their Kingdom’s support.
While the Kings were busy with their talks, Cain diverted his attention to Ivela. They stood close to the Kings.
“So, how many days will you stay here?” said Cain while giving Ivela a glass of wine he took from the table near them.
“Thank you,” she took the glass. “Tomorrow, but who knows, you know our King often impulsively decides things.” she smiled then took a sip.
“Tomorrow? So fast? Thought you will stay for a few days.” said Cain.
“No, Kingsmight is still not effective after that wreck you’ve caused. Especially my squad.” Ivela replied, then she smiled.
“Not so sorry ‘bout that.” said Cain.
“No need. Actually, because of that, King Iligo decided to recruit with more strict requirements to avoid those with bad personalities joining.” said Ivela.
“That’s good to hear. How’s the ‘rat’? Ah, forget that, that’s not my business.”
“It’s okay, you’re the one who gave us the information anyway,” Ivela sipped her wine. “Well, got a lead, but when we were trying to catch the rat, he was already dead in his room. We got a dead end after that.” said Ivela.
“Too bad.” said Cain.
“How about you? Heard you say about treasure hunting?” asked Ivela.
“Yeah! It was fun! I can tell you over a din-” Cain stopped finishing his words. He just remembered something.
“What’s wrong?” asked Ivela.
Cain did not answer Ivela, he turned to the Kings instead.
“Excuse me, Your Majesties.” said Cain to Igo and Calbot who were chatting.
It may be looked rude to interrupt such figures. But Cain tried to as polite as he could because there’s a lot of guests here.
“What is it, Cain?” asked Calbot. He did not bothered by Cain’s interruption.
Meira and Jared also showed a curious expression.
“King Calbot, do you happen to know a good place to have dinner around here?” asked Cain.
Calbot and Igo looked at each other, then back to Cain. “Yes, I know a very nice place to have dinner around here. But for what? Don't tell me the food at this Palace did not satisfy you.” said Calbot.
“Great! And no! It’s not like that! And the answer for that, is a question for King Iligo.” said Cain.
“Hmm?” Igo rubbed his beard.
“King Iligo, would you mind if I borrow your bodyguard, Lady Ivela, for tonight? I owe her a dinner.” said Cain calmly.
That moment, Igo tried his best to hold his breath. But he failed. He burst to laugh. Calbot, Meira and Jared looked to each other and followed Igo, laughed but more controlled. They were so surprised to see Cain’s boldness.
Ivela, who watched this couldn't utter any words, she simply couldn't believe Cain’s action. Moreover, it was about the dinner she promised.
“Oh Goddess, that was a good laugh,” said Igo while wiping his laugh tears. “Well, granted.”
“Your Majesty!? I can't! I shouldn't leave your side!” Ivela finally spoke up.
“Come on, Ivela. While we’re here you should have fun at least. Besides, I’m fine without any bodyguard, you know that.” said Igo.
“But, Your Majesty!” Ivela struggled against the idea of leaving her King just for a dinner.
“You don't want to go out to dinner with me?” asked Cain.
Ivela turned to Cain, and looked at him a bit. “Sigh… alright, dinner it is.” she gave up.
Cain replied with a nod and a smile.
“You didn't bring dress, did you? Come with me later, okay?” said Meira to Ivela.
“It’s fine Lady Meira, it’s just a dinner.” responded Ivela.
“It’s because it’s a dinner. That armor of yours is a no no. Just come with me later, okay?” said Meira, she insisted.
“She won't take no if she’s already like that.” said Calbot.
“True.” said Cain.
“Meip!” Beil sounded to agree.
Ivela sighed. “Alright, Lady Meira, I’ll be in your care.” said she.
After that, the party went on till the sun was set. Guests from the other Kingdoms went back to their place of stay. Some of them already rode back to their Kingdom.
