Volume 2 upgrade specialist interval chapter 39 - moving independently
After everyone had left the room I sat down in the living room. Quickly going to my origin plane I bought a piece of paper and a pen. Arriving back at the hotel, I started writing on the paper. I was leaving a note for my team.
After contemplating it, the risks of having angered an E rank guild were too high. Even though our plan was fine, there were too many unknowns. An E rank guild would know much more about domain, so they may know another way to attack us we're not aware of. As the person who had first antagonised them, it was my responsibility. The rest of the guild other than Alice was dragged in by me.
I wrote what I was going to do on the paper, so if it didn't work they would know what happened, as well as what to do next.
Finishing the note I lay it on the table, walking out of the room. Making my way to the front desk I spoke to the robot there.
Solomon: your part of the three great guilds. Right?
Robot: that's correct sir.
Solomon: I have some business with Diogenes, where can I find him?
Hearing the name the robot was surprised.
Robot: if you wish to speak with him, you may go to the command centre of the city. If you exit this building it is on the opposite side of the city centre. you can not see him without a premade appointment.
having got what I needed, I walked out the building. Making my way across the city centre I eyed out the building. Stretching out into the sky, the building was reminiscent of an office building. Above the entrance was a sign reading, command centre.
Walking in I was instantly stopped by two large men in full armour.
Armoured man: what business do you have here?
Based on the impressive atmosphere coming from them they were at least F rank. Seeing F ranks used as doormen really put my strength into perspective.
Solomon: I've come to seek an audience with Diogenes. Is there a problem.
As a Guild leader, I made sure to speak with authority, while still being respectful. After all, what good would angering the strongest guild in existence do?
Armoured man: who are you to seek out Diogenes, if he requests to see you come back.
After hearing from the robot before, I had expected this resistance. I did, however, hope that it wouldn't be by anyone stronger than G rank. The fact that F ranks were doormen had slightly dimmed my hope.
Solomon: I'm afraid that's not an option. I'm sure he will like what I have to say.
With a huff, the frontmost armoured man tried to "persuade" me to leave.
Armoured man: nothing you can offer to Diogenes will be worth even a second of his time. It's best if you leave now.

Having reached a roadblock in my plan I tried to think of some way to convince them.
Finely dressed man: WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?
Before I could think something up, another man approached us. Wearing what looked like the finest blends, he walked towards us.
Finely dressed man: are you guys harassing visitors again, I've told you before to cut that out.
As the man approached, his presence took my full attention. My instincts told me that this man was deadly.
Armoured man: my apologies manager, we were merely following drakes orders.
Manager: it was already decided that this behaviour is unacceptable. You would do well to remember that Drake isn't the only guardian of this city.
Receiving the scorn of this man the guards were instantly full of apologies.
Armoured man: I'm extremely sorry manager, from now on we will remember your orders.
Saying so both of the men slithered away. By the looks of it hoping to avoid this man's judgment.
Turning to me, the manager addressed me directly.
Siegfried: I must apologise for the horrid actions of the guards. Allow me to personally help you today. I am Siegfried, the manager of
Being spoken to so politely by such a strong person made me unnerved.
Solomon: there is no need to be so polite. I am already intruding on you. If you can assist me, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Though I was unnerved by his actions, I would not pass up the opportunity to accomplish my goal.
Siegfried: I will do my best to help you today, what is it you want to do?
Solomon: I'm looking to speak with Diogenes.
Hearing the name, much like the guards, Siegfried seemed surprised.
Siegfried: Diogenes? You have a relation to him?
Thinking that I may have a relationship with Diogenes, he seemed slightly more cautious with his words.
Solomon: not really, he helped me out in the past. I'm here to pay him back, I also hope to propose a deal to him.
Hearing my reasons for being here, Siegfried broke out into laughter.
Siegfried: HAHAHAHAHA! HA, HA. I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh. It's just, this is the first time I've heard a G rank say he could pay back an A rank.
I understood how ludicrous it sounded, however, I wasn't just planning on trying to pay him back.
Solomon: it's fine. This isn't the first time I've seen that reaction.
Siegfried: none the less, I should be more professional. I can take you to see him, however, now he is in a meeting. If you don't mind waiting a while then you can meet with him.
Solomon: if it's not too much to ask, I would appreciate it.
Siegfried: follow me then.
Turning away from me Siegfried walked away. Quickly following after I was happy I got the manager to assist me. Having a manager from the three guilds escort me personally was a great honour.

After entering a door in behind the counter we appeared in a new space.
Seeing my confusion Siegfried explained it to me.
Siegfried: for convenience, we installed teleporters between floor. Based on your authority you can teleport around the building.
The power of the greatest guilds was once again displayed to me. What the majority of guilds used as a life-saving exit, was a convenient transport system for them.
Solomon: I'll have to invest in a similar system myself in the future.
As I was going to become extremely strong, it was only a matter of time before I had such a system myself.
Siegfried: hahaha, you sure have some grand ambitions, don’t you? Only Z rank guild can have such luxuries.
Solomon: then it is only a matter of time. Unfortunately, by the time I'm that strong the appeal of such a system will be lost.
If I had Z rank strength then I would have long surpassed the speed of such a system. I would only require teleportation to travel great distances.
Siegfried: oh, so you're a guild leader?
From the fact I said I could only use a system like this when I was stronger had exposed I wouldn't join other guilds. From this, he guessed that I was already in a guild. Then by the fact I was stopped at the door, he could tell I was not in a strong guild. The fact he could figure this out after a few sentences showed his mental ability.
The fact that he was a manager in a place like this was not surprising.
Solomon: I am, though It was only recently that I created a guild. Someone at your level would take no interest in such a guild.
Siegfried: actually, it is quite the opposite. There are always new people entering domain. Among those the ones that can create a guild are few and far between. That's why guilds tend to have many members. After all, It is much easier to become part of an already established guild, than to create one.
Though what he said was true, there were an untold amount of weak guilds. I didn't think that I was anything special.
Solomon: true as that may be, I do not think I am special enough to receive your praise.
Siegfried: either way, I still hold an interest. Would you mind telling me the name of your guild?
Solomon: it's the wings of freedom.
Hearing the name, Siegfried became quiet. After a while of silence, he spoke up.
Siegfried: it is a good name, it seems to hold a lot of symbolism. Anyway, shall we get going?
Turning around, he began to walk off. Not wanting to be left behind I quickly followed. From the odd silence after hearing the guild name, I was worried I had upset him. Being as he had dropped it, I decided to let sleeping dogs lie.
After a minute of walking, we stopped outside of a set of double doors. Entering the doors, we appeared inside a lobby. Other than a row of chairs there was little else. Other than the entrance we came, in there was only a set of huge doors. Looking along the rows of Chairs, there were 2 other people waiting.
Rude man: so you’ve finally turned up, took you long enough.
One of them was a man dressed in loose fitting shorts and a tank top. The other was a girl wearing a plain white dress. From the feeling they gave me, they were both equal in strength to Siegfried. The girl noticing Siegfried merely nodded her head.
Siegfried: I wouldn't be late if I didn't have to constantly clean up after idiots.
There was clear disdain in his voice as he addressed the robed man. There was obvious animosity between them.
Rude man: huh, you dare slate my great Ragnarok guild?
Siegfried: who said I was slating your guild, I merely said idiots. Does that mean you consider those in your guild idiots?
It was made evident that Siegfried was a more elegant speaker than the rude man.
Rude man: ARRGGGH YOU AND YOU WORD GAMES, I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TALK LIKE THAT WITH MY FOOT DOWN YOUR THROAT!
Saying so the man took a stance. The already rippling muscle's on his body began to bulge out, expanding quickly. After a minute he had grown several times his size. Based on the oppressive atmosphere he gave off, he was moments away from attacking.
However, before he could react the woman had appeared between him and us.
Woman: you two are not permitted to fight. since the last time you destroyed part of the city, it was banned. If you try to fight here I have no problems referring the both of you to the slaughterer.
With a mention of this slaughterer, the rude man was instantly less aggressive. Reigning in his power he returned to his human size.
Rude man: count your lucky stars, the next time I get the chance your head is mine.#
At this point the man's eyes looked away from Siegfried, focusing on me.
Rude man: who is this kid?
With his eyes locked on me, I could barely move a muscle, the strength emanating from the man had locked me in place.
Waving a hand towards me, Siegfried removed the pressure.
Solomon: he has business with Diogenes. If you have an issue take it up with him.
At the mention of Diogenes the rude man huffed.
Rude man: whatever, just make sure he stays out of our way.
Turning to me Siegfried had an apologetic look.
Siegfried: sorry about that, there's still about an hour to go. Shall we sit and wait?
Solomon: y, yes.

I'm no professional writer so the writing style may suck. I hate FF that spend entire chapters describing stuff.. So my describing skills may suck. The main character will also suck... (Blood) I'm writing this just for fun, so if you enjoy, good for you... If not.. Then suck it..
