volume 2 upgrade specialist interval chapter 38 – first official guild meeting
Waking from my slumber I sat up in my bed. Looking over at my bedside clock I saw that it was 8 am. Slinking out of bed I made my way to the kitchen, aiming to make myself breakfast. As I left my bedroom, entering the joined kitchen and living room, I was met with a surprise.
Sat on one of the sofa's was Alice.
Alice: morning.
Solomon: morning.
Alice: I have some things to speak with you about.
Seeing her serious face I walked to the sofa, sitting next to her.
Solomon: what is it?
To have come over so early in the morning I was worried it was serious.
Alice: well, it's about, us.
Solomon: us?
Hearing this I was both relieved and simultaneously more worried.
Alice: well, we've been a couple for a while now, but every time I try to be more intimate with you, you back away.
Seeing her sullen face, I felt my heart tighten.
Solomon: yeah, I have been avoiding it. I'm sorry, I didn't think about how you felt.
Surprising me, Alice jumped up from her seat. Standing in front of me she had tears in her eyes.
Alice: why do you keep avoiding my advances. Am I not good enough for you? Do you like other girls more?
Seeing the girl I loved was hurt by my actions again, I felt terrible.
Solomon: no, that's not true. You’re my girlfriend, not them.
Alice: don't lie to me. I saw how you looked at Pluvia yesterday. I've been around you enough to tell. You looked at her in the same way you look at me.
Thinking back when I saw Pluvia I was stunned. Her beauty was beyond anyone I had ever seen. Mixing in the thankful emotions I held for her I could see how Alice was confused.
Solomon: that was an accident, I didn't know she would look like that.
Alice: then what about Aries, you have feelings for her as well, don’t you?
Though I couldn't deny I had taken a liking to her it wasn't on the level I thought about Alice. Realising my arguments were getting me nowhere, I tried a different approach. Standing up myself I brought Alice into my chest.
Solomon: I can't say I don't feel thing towards other girls. But nothing will change how much I love you right now.
Speaking from my heart I tried to convey my emotions. Hearing me tell her I loved her for the first, Alice was stunned.
Alice: do you really love me?
As she asked I could feel her body tremble.
Solomon: I do, I love you Alice.
Jumping up Alice brought her arms around my shoulders, kissing me passionately. Reaching my hands around her waist I kissed her back. For the first time, we French kissed. As our tongues intertwined I felt relieved. My feelings had been conveyed to her. After a while, we pulled away from the kiss.

Her face was now reddening, as well as having a lewd expression.
Alice: I love you too.
Once again we started to French kiss. Feeling the change in the atmosphere I started to walk to the bedroom, still holding Alice. Entering the room Alice broke off the kiss.
Looking deep into each other's eyes, I could see her desire laid bare.
Alice: are you ready now?
After rejecting her advance several times she probably didn't want our first time to be forced.
Gently laying her down on the bed I answered.
Solomon: I am.
Three hours later we emerged from the bedroom. Naked, sweaty and extremely happy.
Alice: I'm gonna go take a shower.
Solomon: alright, I'll clean up after us, then join you.
Standing on tiptoes Alice gave me a quick kiss, before walking off down the hallway. After taking a few moments to admire here figure, I walked back into the bedroom. Moving quickly I took anything that was dirty, bundling it together.
Normally I'd leave this job to the hotel cleaners, but I felt awkward leaving behind remains of our "activities" for them to clean.
After quickly dumping it into the washing machine I made my way to the bathroom, making sure to bring a change of clothes along. Walking in I could see Alice's outline through the misty glass.
Alice: did you finish cleaning up?
Solomon: I did.
Opening the door to the shower, I joined Alice.
Alice: oh, you want to have some fun in here.
Speaking with a sultry voice Alice came close to my body, Pressing herself against me. Just as I was about to react a voice echoed through the door.
Gareth: HELLOOOOO! ANYONE HOME!?
Hearing Gareth the both of use were instantly embarrassed. Quickly getting out of the shower, I shouted through the bathroom door.
Solomon: IM IN HERE! HOLD ON FOR A MINUTE!
Rushing about the both of us were dry and dressed in under a minute.
Solomon: I'll go out first. after a minute come out and act like you came out of another room.
Not wanting to be embarrassed we planned on acting like nothing happened.
Walking out to the living room I greeted Gareth.
Solomon: morning Gareth.
Gareth: mornin, I think we need to have a guild meeting.
Solomon: guild meeting?
Gareth: yeah, to discuss plans.
Thinking about it, we were technically a guild now. It would make sense to have a system set up for the guild.
Solomon: sounds like a good idea. Alright then, I'll go get Pluvia. Alice is already here, she should be out in a minute.
Walking next door I quickly grabbed Pluvia. Having everyone sit in the sofa's we began the meeting.
Solomon: so everyone, based on Gareth's idea I have come up with a system for meetings.
As it was only a small system it didn't take me long to think up a viable system.

Solomon: we will hold a weekly meeting after every mission to discuss. This meeting will be the first one of those. Other than that, any of us here can call an emergency meeting if an issue comes up.
After waiting for any disagreements I continued on. In the future only those each of us here agree to, are allowed to join in on the guild meeting. Those agreed people will also be allowed to call emergency meetings. That's it. Of course, we'll add to it in future. Is everyone okay with that framework?
Looking around everyone agreed.
Gareth: I'm fine with it.
Pluvia: I am as well.
Alice: same.
Having gained everyone's agreement, I moved on.
Solomon: all right, then let's commence the first weekly guild meeting. The first thing to discuss is the communist mages guild.
At the mention of our enemy everyone's face showed disgust.
Solomon: we have already made enemies with them, at this point there is no going back. Does anyone have any plans on how to deal with them?
Pluvia: I have one.
Solomon: go ahead.
Pluvia: why don't we destroy them.
The rest of us all looked at her like she was an idiot.
Solomon: how would we do that, their leader is an E rank. Even If we had the strength to deal with that. How would we handle the backlash from the great guilds? They wouldn't stay out of it if we destroyed a guild in their city.
After all the three great guilds prided themselves on creating the only safe cities in domain. How could they ignore it if we made a big commotion in one of their cities?
Pluvia: though im severely weakened, I could still take on an E rank. If I gave up this body I could at least severely injure him.
Once again I was reminded the little girl sat before me, was actually an elder dragon.
Solomon: that still doesn't protect us from the great guilds. As you said before they aren't something we can fight.
Pluvia: that's true.
Gareth: I have a proposal.
Solomon: let's hear it.
Being as it was Gareth I was expecting at least a half decent plan.
Gareth: well, you probably won't like it. Why don't we run away?
Alice: run away?
Gareth: yeah. If we go to the teleportation arrays we could go to another city for 500 points a piece. Though it would clear us out of points, we would be out of danger.
Thinking about it, it wasn't a half bad plan. However, it had a major flaw.
Solomon: that's not necessarily true. At this point, we have killed 5 G ranks from their guild. The amount of points those fighters could have earned may be enough reason for them to follow us. And the other thing is the danger we pose. Only an idiot would let us get stronger. After all, when we surpass them we would be able to pressure them out of existence.
Gareth: that's true, but I still think it's an option. If we manage to get away without them realising they couldn't follow us.
Solomon: I agree it's an option, but I don't think we have much chance of getting away unnoticed. For now, I don’t think it's an option. Especially since we will lose almost all of our points. For all we know, other cities could be ten times rougher than this one.
Having only been in this city, we had no idea what the rest of Domain was like.
Gareth: alright then, what should we do?
Solomon: for now, nothing.
Hearing this everyone was confused.
Alice: nothing? What do you mean?
Solomon: let me explain. At this point we have one advantage over them, we are in a neutral city. No matter how strong they are, Like us, they can only accept the laws of the three great guilds. So as long as we stay inside at night and don't go into secluded areas we should be safe. No matter how much we infuriate them they wouldn't dare to act against the great guilds.
Hearing my reasoning everyone understood my logic.
Gareth: but what about in the future. We can't always hide like rats.
Solomon: I agree. There is only one way I see us being able to survive. We have to get stronger. I believe once we all reach F rank, we will have enough leverage to dissuade them from attacking us. At that point, only their leader will be able to hurt us. Using that leverage I plan to negotiate a truce. At least until we can crush them.
Seeing my logic everyone agreed with the plan.
Gareth: I can see the logic, for now, it is the best option.
Alice: I'm fine with this plan.
Pluvia: I see no issue with it.
Happy everyone had agreed I moved onto the smaller things.
Solomon: okay then, the last thing we need to discuss is what each of us will do now. If you're all fine with it I would like to organise what people do. Is everyone okay with that?
Looking at everyone, in turn, they didn't have a problem with that.
Alice: I don't mind.
Gareth: no problem.
Pluvia: it's fine with me.
Solomon: alright then. I'll come talk to you all individually tomorrow morning. For today take a rest day. Stay in the hotel and recuperate. With this, the first official guild meeting is over.

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.
