Volume 2 upgrade specialist interval chapter 35 - the benefits of the guild system
Solomon: so what's your last skill.
After my fight with Hackmon, I still had not seen his third skill.
Hackmon: fif slash
In answer to my question, he used his last skill. Slashing with one of his paws he left a deep gouge in the flaw.
Solomon: oh, I see why you didn't use it then.
Though it was a good skill, against my sword it would not be able to break it. So I could just block him.
Solomon: I've judged your strength. At my best estimate your as strong as a mid-level G rank
Hearing this Alice was extremely happy.
Alice: that's great. I've now got both a strong one on one fighter as well as an army for weaklings.
It was true that Hackmon levelled out her team well. She now had the potential to deal with many situations.
Like this, I felt confident leaving my team to fend for themselves during missions. This way, I could deal with the strongest enemy while they held off the rest.
In a good mood, we all went back to the first room.
Solomon: that leaves one thing to check.
Gareth: huh, what's that?
Both Alice and Gareth seemed to have forgotten about it.
Solomon: we can check each other's stats. And if my suspicion is right it's not just that.
Alice: oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. Then again it won't do much, will it?
The feeling in my gut told me it was more than it seemed.
Solomon: I wouldn't be so sure about that. Anyway, let's check.
Standing before guild bot I asked to see them.
Solomon: guild bot, can you show us our stats.
Without replying a panel appeared before me. On it was all of our stats. However, that wasn't all. There was also a description of our skills and equipment. Like I had guessed, this was another benefit of the guild system. Like this, we could accurately understand the limits of our skills and equipment.

In exchange for the consumption of demonic energy, the user empowers themselves for a limited time. The user strength is 3x stronger in this form. Any skills used in this form are also 3x stronger.
Looking at this list there were several things explained. Now we knew about the limits of Alice's skills. Seeing that accelerate lasted an hour it would be extremely useful. Other than that we could see the upgrades to our equipment. Other than the 6x increase, the number of stat points it gave me also increased.

Solomon: it seems my suspicion was right.
Alice: wow, I never really thought about it. But, were really lucky, aren't we?
Gareth: looks like it. To make it from unranked to G rank in two missions is a great accomplishment.
At this point, we had finished everything we needed to do in the guild plane.
Solomon: all right, we've finished all we need to do here. Let's take an hours break before going back to domain. Though we could stay here until the next mission didn't think that was a good idea. As a guild, there were now many things we could do. First of all, I would check about buying a guild space.
Gareth: all right then. All that testing has made me work up an appetite. I'm gonna make myself some food.
Saying so Gareth walked off to the kitchen.
Solomon: I've used up a decent amount of my qi, so I'm going to recover it. I'll be in the meditation room if you need me.
After the spars with Gareth and Hackmon, as well as using my wolf form, I had only a quarter of my qi left
Alice: alright, see you later.
After entering the room I sat down cross-legged in the centre. Holding up both my arms I began absorbing qi. Surprisingly the Qi in the air was abundant here. If I was to compare it was half as strong as the dragons fire training space.
Surprisingly this was another benefit of the guild system. Emptying these thoughts out of my head I continued to absorb the qi. After half an hour I had filled up my qi. To my surprise, I felt a rumbling in my dantian.
My qi began trying to expand outwards. It seemed I was breaking through. Realising this I began to control the qi, slowly expanding the space in my dantian. Unlike my previous breakthrough, the pain was many times smaller. It was like holding a candle to the sun.
Controlling my energy I spent a long time in the room, breaking through to the third realm of qi. Though it wasn't easy, compared to other things I've done it was a walk in the park.
Just as I finished breaking through, and my qi had settled down, I felt for changes in my qi pool. The size had doubled once again, allowing me to use the flame serpent art almost 70 times. Along with the increase in volume also came an increase in control.
Holding up my hand I took a small part of my qi. Moving it through the meridians, I channelled it into the muscles of my hand. Then using my power as guild master I created a ball of steel in my hand. With the qi powered hand, I tried to crush the ball.
Under the pressure it began to distort, leaving a clear handprint in the ball. Making the ball disappear, I felt happy with this new ability. Though it wasn't a skill I could increase my physical ability by 1.5x the original.
As I was admiring the new use of qi a voice echoed in my head.
Pluvia: Solomon, come to the training space.
I was completely taken by surprise as I heard Pluvia's voice. Though it wasn't louder than a whisper, in this silent room it was easy to hear. Being as this was the first time I had heard her voice in real life, It must be something important.
Taking out dragon's fire I entered the training room. As I appeared I was greeted by pluvia.
Pluvia: I see you've broken through. Why didn’t you come here?
Though it wasn’t obvious on the face of a dragon, she seemed to be pouting now.
Solomon: haha, sorry about that. It wasn't a difficult breakthrough so I didn't want to burden you.
Being as this breakthrough was the first natural one it was much easier. In all honesty, I didn't need Pluvia's help with it.
Pluvia: well, it's too late now. In the future, though it's best to come here. The qi rich environment will help make the breakthrough faster.
Solomon: I'll do so. So how come you can talk to me in real life now.
I thought it was a sign of something urgent, but based on her attitude it didn't seem so.
Pluvia: there are two reasons. First is to explain the upgrades to dragon's fire. Second is to give you a new skill.
At the mention of a new skill, I was ecstatic. Every skill I had got from dragon's fire so far had been extremely strong.
Pluvia: so first you have got an increase in training time. Now you can enter for 8 hours and four times. The same as before you can use it all in one go or split it into several slots.
Solomon: wow, I thought it would go up to 6 hours and 3 times. Does that mean it will double every time?
If so that would be good. However, it presented a problem.
Pluvia: yes, it will.
Solomon: though that's good won't that make me age faster. If so I'll have to only use it sparingly.
Pluvia: hahaha, once again you surprise me little one. You have great foresight. This is not an issue. Any time you spend here is only in spirit. As time is frozen outside, your physical body is not affected by your time here. Though I will warn you, if you stay here too long your mind may be affected.
Though it was good I didn't age, I was unsure what she meant by my mind being affected.
Solomon: what do you mean about my mind.
Pluvia: in the future when you can stay here for years at a time you may forget about things happening outside, becoming detached.
Solomon: oh, okay. I'll keep that in mind. Anyway, what about the skill?

The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. People claim that it is connected by The Path of Legends, where Gods traversed trying to find the meaning of their own existence.
