“Are you still hungry?”
Clara shook her head no to John’s question. She was still snacking on the tiny spiders that neared her face, but she had stood back a bit so as to not make him sick.
“So…just nervous?”
She slowly nodded.
“Well, don’t worry. It’s not like anything completely bad is about to happen. We have loads of Level 3s and then there’s the three of us. I doubt anything would threaten our lives out here.”
David radioed in, his voice frantic and desperate.
“TANK!”
BOOM!
Several Skeletons were instantly shattered, causing the two on the bus to go wide-eyed in astonishment.
“Damn! And I don’t have Cammie here to help!”
John furiously turned the handle, causing the bus to swerve to the right, angling towards the shoulder of the road, intending to flee.
However, there were several lines of men with guns and uniforms. It seemed the military was finally making their move.
“David, come to this side! The Skeletons will fare better against the soldiers! Clara, send your spiders to attack the tank! It’s too slow to react in time and hopefully, they can stall it long enough for us to get out of here!”
“Got it!”
“…”
Even though she didn’t say anything, Clara’s determined look was seen in the rear view mirror. John flashed a quick grin before he issued more orders.
“Alright, guys! Let’s unload on them!”
The Skeletons on the bus all got on the right side, facing the soldiers. They let loose, causing several casualties in an instant. The regular armor they had could not stand against the powered up weaponry the Level 3 Skeletons had.
The spiders scuttled over to the tank, forcing a man to exit the vehicle to burn the spiders off. However, all it took was a couple of Level 0s to infiltrate and the tank was in chaos. Several of the dog-sized spiders rushed forward, advancing into the tank and attacking the soldiers within.
Screams could be heard from inside as David used the horse sized spiders to charge against the soldiers. Using his Taunt Combo, he gave the Skeletons enough time to get close enough to strike blows. What little plan the army had in place was negated by the overpowered abilities of the Monsters and Undead.
But…the bus that John and Clara were on was a massive target, receiving bullet spray after bullet spray. Only a couple of moments had passed before their tires were out, not letting them get enough traction to drive on the grass.
The two had to exit, bringing the long range Skeletons as well. One of the car-sized spiders came forward and picked Clara up, allowing her to easily see the battlefield. There weren’t that many men left, and some of them had started to use magic.

Of course, they probably didn’t have enough MP to barrage the Skeletons, but it did give them an edge and several more Skeletons had fallen, along with their Spider Mounts.
Then, a massive man with a handlebar mustache and mutton-chop sideburns stepped forward, carrying a small book. He opened the book and placed his hand forward, a strange circle appearing before him. The circle began to fill with strange markings and started to look like a sigil.
“Followers of Wrath, heed my call! Cast these heathens into Purgatory and burn them for Eternity!”
A huge flame wave descended onto the Skeletons, incinerating them into ash. David high-tailed it out of there, running for his life. The other two followed him into the nearby buildings on the side of the road. All they had were the long range Skeletons and the larger Spiders.
Or so the men thought.
By the time they reached a place to hide, in a children’s pizza playhouse, John and David realized there were still a lot of small Level 0 Spiders following them.
“Hah…hah…Where did they come from?” David asked, still tired from all the running.
All Clara did was point to one of the giant spiders. Underneath its massive abdomen, there was a small white sack. An egg sac?!
“Okay, we’re alive. We are about a day’s walk away from the nearest outpost, so we need to figure out how to get there. I called Andrew on our way so we have several choices.”
“Ooh, what are they?”
“We can go fight them.”
“No.”
A passionate head shaking came from the spider girl.
“We can try and outrun them.”
“That doesn’t sound bad.”
More head shaking.
“We can sit here and wait.”
“I like that idea.”
Even more head shaking, probably even more so than before.
“And then we can lay some traps and take these guys by surprise.”
“Uh…I am not so good at that stuff…that’s Chance’s area of expertise.”
This time, Clara nodded in reply to John’s suggestion.
“She’s right. We can sit and wait, but if that fire guy comes back, then we are sitting ducks. We should set some traps.”
“So what do we do?”
“I…do not know.”
Clara reached forward, pulling a piece of string from her palm as if it was attached!
“Isn’t that…webbing?!”
“We can use this. Alright! Here’s the plan…”
=============================
This was easy. Sure, he had already lost some men, but no one can handle Jack Milo’s Arcane Spells! As an Arcane Spellcaster, Jack was able to quickly rise in the ranks to the position of General. He had lied in wait for this moment, ever since he saw that idiot on the broadcast.

When he received the order to not mess with them unless notified to, Jack couldn’t stand it! How come he gets the attention? How come he gets the hot demon chick? Sure, he wouldn’t actually do her now, but he had seen what Rebecca used to look like and she was hot!
How could Jack just let the guy receive more pretty ladies into his Clan?!
Jack wasn’t a pervert, he was a gentleman! It hurt him to see such beautiful women subjected to live like servants to the Lich Lord! So he thought, ‘Why if I come to save the day, I could appear like their knight in shining armor!’
He had about twenty men left, and three were sent back to commandeer the tank. He needed it to get rid of those two lackeys of the Lich Lord. He knew that Clara Monti, the pop star, was the Spider Queen, so it was upsetting to kill her Units. But he decided to keep an eye on the monitor in case they split up to lay a trap.
They did!
Jack and five of his men walked into the old Chuck E. Cheese’s that was covered in cobwebs. This must be where Clara was hiding. Why did they leave her alone? Were those guys that cowardly to run off without saving the woman?
Did they plan to use her as bait?! What kind of man were they?!
He noticed there were several creepy shadows being created thanks to the cobwebs, but it almost seemed as if something was moving in the back.
When Jack went to look at the Radar, he was upset to find that the surroundings were hazy! He was in someone else’s Domain! He decided to find the main office to locate the cameras, but when he looked at the screen…
There was no power. Duh.
Slamming his palm against his forehead, he turned to go back out of the room. Unfortunately, he discovered too late that he was alone! Where was everyone?! How come he didn’t notice?!
Well, he’s an idiot that was too absorbed in his fantasies to realize that he was walking into a trap.
Against anyone else’s better judgment, Jack walked back into the main building and started to search around for the whereabouts of whoever it was that was in this building. His dumb assumption that Clara was a possible ally blinded him into thinking it was one of the other guys.
However, he was correct!
What kind of guy would let the only girl be bait? (David)
What kind of guy would actually think of making it seem like she was bait but actually be the bait himself? (John)
What kind of guy would be so idiotic that he was actually correct? (Jack)
And so when he spotted a flying red beetle, Jack’s face instantly grinned.
“Hahaha! Good! Burn, Ember Flare!”
This time, a small fire sphere was summoned. Jack flicked it towards the beetle and let the surroundings catch fire as he calmly walked back outside…
Into a very obvious trap.
John wasn’t about to let his prey escape, so when the six men had entered the building, he had left several Blood Beetles there to deal with any stragglers.
Before Jack could sound off another incantation, his innards were sucked dry and he passed on. Too bad, he didn't even get to regret his poor actions.
Outside, David had Taunted the tank and let one of the giant spiders drop an entire egg sac inside, much to the soldiers’ fears.
The others were all taken care of by Clara’s horror act. The guys weren’t ready for that kind of shock and passed out. They became spider food after she tied them up using her thread.
But back in the kids’ crack house, John was rushing to exit the burning building. Thankfully, it wasn’t going to explode or anything.
One of his Beetles had become an Arcane Beetle, making it bigger and have sigils on it. It sported higher magic power and could also make Arcane Beetle babies.
John felt a slight tingling sensation on his ass cheeks, but it must have been from his awesome escape. He saw David and Clara walk up and stare in awe at the burning building behind him.
So he turned around to view it as well when he heard David cry out,
“Whoa! Put some new pants on!”
John turned back around before looking down. Not seeing anything wrong, he slowly turned back around again, asking what was wrong.
“The ass part of your pants are gone!”
“Oops...”
“Pfffft HAHAHA *snort* Hahaha! Hah…hah…Haha!...”
“Uhh, Miss Monti? Are you okay?”
“Ah, that’s another thing I forgot to mention.”
“What?”
“She absolutely loves toilet humor.”
“What do you mean?”
John had bent down, searching the area for something to cover his bare bottom as he continued.
“Tell her a fart joke, she’ll love it.”
“Huh? How do you know that?”
*snort* “Haha…here…hah…”
“Dude, she’s still laughing.”
“Thanks.”
John took the white piece of cloth from Clara and wrapped it around himself like a towel.
Seeing her pathetic snorting and laughing like a little kid actually warmed him up. This entire time she hadn’t said so much as a word, but say something butt related and she went hysterical.
If he hadn’t had accidently passed gas that one time, he would have never known.
David stared in bewilderment at the person he admired while John sent the Skeletons to search the area for goods or something to help them out.
Besides the tank, of course.

His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region
