《The God Effect》Chapter 5: Training Timetables Are Not Expanded Upon

The next morning I had awoken to my Three Musketeers waking me up for the day, physically dragging me out of bed, bathing me and dressing me, all the while my brain still in a half-conscious state.

My timetable had resumed to the usual study study study timetable. I had Music with my piano teacher first, then I had History with my History teacher, and Writing with my Writing tutor. I then had a break for lunch and resumed the timetable with Art, Dance and finally Archery.

I had dinner with my parents and then scurried off to my bedroom, which was my usual behaviour.

The only thing was that, this time, I wasn't only going to read.

I was going to test out these techniques in Magical Cultivation, and see how far I could get solely through Meditation.

I had sat in the centre of my large bed with Sir Clawd Antonio Howle, my wolf plushy, in my lap. I placed both my hands on my knees that were criss-cross apple sauced, and closed my eyes.

It seemed like I was in a trance as I was meditating, my mind went dark for a moment, but not to sleep. Then there was a shimmer of something in the corner of my mind. I reached out my subconscious and gathered it into my body.

This went on for seemingly hours, and before I knew it, I was full. It was the feeling kind of how when you eat a really satisfying meal, and the food was sending warm waves of sleepiness over your body? Yeah. That feeling.

So I sleepily opened my eyes from my Meditation and changed into my bedclothes, before slipping into the warm and fluffy covers with Sir Clawd Antonio Howle.

I then went to sleep.

This 'wake up, have breakfast, do lessons all day then go to bed and meditate' routine went on for about a year and a half before Papa sensed something. It seemed that my mental progression was only advancing at a faster speed the more that I Meditated, and it seemed that I had begun to have an Excess Mana Manifestation, which Papa had sensed.

When he approached me, he was quite angry at me, but when he noticed that I was not having any types of negative symptoms of Soul Overexertion, he sighed and employed a Magic instructor.

Of course, the instructor was forced to take an Oath of Secrecy, because it would be crazy for a four-year-old half-breed to have such an affinity for magic at such an age, and letting out such delicate information about a child that had not yet debuted in society would surely cause an upheaval of negative attention to the child that simply wanted to be left alone.

So for the next year and a half I was trained in the art of Magic. My stats were much higher now, and I had figured out that, yes, I was an OP five-year-old. I mean... It was only customary for me to be, considering I am a protagonist of a reincarnation novel-

E R R O R :

THIS LEVEL OF INTERACTION WITH FOURTH WALL, NARRATION AND AUTHOR HAS NOT YET BEEN UNLOCKED.

Hm. I hadn't yet unlocked the Wall-Breaker skill. But my stats had gotten considerably higher.

I had also received the Title Maximum Learner.

《Maximum Learner》

This Title has been gained by learning all a teacher can teach the user.

Mental capacity for learning has been increased by 1000000000000000000&[email protected]{----- ERROR %

Haha, it's kind of a cheat Title, huh? I guess I will need to have a large mental capacity to absorb all the information about this world in the future.

Also, Rosie? Yeah, remember her cute little face? Yeah, she never wrote back to me. I wonder why? Eh, she probably didn't have the ability to, or forgot or something. I kept on sending her letters every week, though. I would send her presents on her birthday, but alas, she never sent anything back to me. I was assured by my Mama that I had her address correct, so I don't know why she hasn't sent anything back.

Whatever.

I'll probably meet her in the future, so I don't need to worry.

Guess what? Mama had another baby! I now have a younger brother named Ithril. He's pretty cute for a sack of flesh.

Hm, you've probably noticed that I don't really like babies. Well, one, they're pretty much all ugly. Two, they require you to look after them.

Don't you think this is dumb?

Like, the majority of creatures don't require hand rearing from their parents. They just pop out of the egg, lay low for a while, grow big and become an adult!

Why can't babies do this? Look after yourself, babies! You've already taken nine months from your mother's body! Give her a break!

Ithril is pretty cute though. Even though he cries a lot and whatever, he is pretty cute when he snores and makes weird noises. He actually calls me "Bsis" Because he can't pronounce 'G' yet, so he,s shortened "big sis" to make it easier to say.

Ithril is a pretty typical kid. He likes running around, and yells some strange stuff like, "MY DRAGON POOPED A GOLD ARMOUR!" When playing with his toys. It's pretty funny, actually. I think I'm beginning to feel a sense of responsibility when I'm around him, which is something I'm not used to.

He likes to sit with me in the library sometimes, and knows to be super quiet, which is pretty cute, considering he tries to be quiet but fails, because he does not have super fine-tuned motor skills yet. Ithril likes dragons, and I made a dragon plush for him on his second birthday. By the way, Ithril is two years younger than me.

So... Yeah.

Also, we hired another maid named 'Lisette', who is mute. She had her tongue ripped out by a Berserker in an illegal underground fighting ring. Lisette is a Dragonborne, so she is a really cute and scaly person. Her scales are gold, which apparently is classified as 'valuable' on the black market, so when Mama found the ring, she immediately took to taking her under her wing (hah), because she feared that, even though Lisette could protect herself in the ring, she would not be able to protect herself in society, where greedy hands will grab at whatever valuable thing they can find and sell.

I internally nodded in my approval towards Mama's actions when she said this to me, but simply walked up to Lisette who had been awkwardly standing at the side. I trotted up to her and stared up at her with big, round and silver eyes. She was really pretty, and I, absolutely just adoring any idea of Dragons, was naturally enamoured with her.

She had looked down at me awkwardly, and I could see the muscles in her jaw twitching nervously, a telltale sign that, if she had her tongue, it would be darting in and out of her mouth nervously.

It made me sad, but I hid it, by grinning brightly at her, "Hi, Lisette! I am Yunano, but you can call me Nano! I really like your eyes! They are very beautiful!"

If a Dragonborne could blush, she would be, but because she couldn't she merely trembled in embarrassment. Her eyes were a lightning blue, something that I absolutely adored.

Mama laughed at my curious behaviour, but nonetheless shrugged it off as me being my usual self. Lisette looked down at my beaming face and nodded her head in thanks. I smiled even wider and laughed, "You are really pretty, Lisette! I can't wait for you to meet The Three Musketeers! They will love you!"

Lisette cocked her head tinkly at my words, then looked to Mama for an answer, who smiled softly, "They are Yunano's personal maids,"

Lisette had a look of, 'Oh, I see!' Before smiling down at me, teeth on display.

I grinned at her and the door opened from behind me, the triples walking in single file.

They all bowed to Mama, and said, "My Lady," before standing straight again and eyeing Lisette curiously.

Well, I would say they were eyeing her curiously, but they all looked a little scared of her.

It was understandable, though.

You see, the triplets aren't actually elves or humans. They are fish folk. So a dragon, which primarily eats fish and/or other creatures, causes them to be wary. In the past, Dragonborne hunted and ate Fishfolk. Unfortunately, Fishfolk are rare, because they were hunted out of existence in a large portion of Hearthia, so only pocket societies of Fishfolk exist here and there, scattered all over the globe.

Dragonborne were also hunted and eaten by humans in the past, so essentially everyone ate everyone and no one questioned it. But, of course, that has changed since the unification of the five Empires, and now most all races can live harmoniously together, save for the demonic races, but that is a story for another time.

Lisette looked warily at the three girls, and the girls looked nervously back at her. After all, Lisette wasn't exactly petite. She was tempered for battle against competitors in unfair circumstances, sometimes versing competitors stronger, of a larger number, or both if she was unlucky.

Lisette' bloodline didn't particularly allow for her to be petite, either, considering Dragonborne have evolved to live in unforgiving and extreme terrain such as mountain ranges, deserts, and glaciers. Golden Dragonborne are particularly cold-blooded, so they are more suited to hotter environments such as deserts or islands, and their competitor species in those areas are particularly strong and vicious, so they are built for battle.

Basically, Lisette was a huge, sharp-scaled Dragon-esque being, so the maids' wariness was not unwarranted.

Lisette, though, was nervous because not only was she in a new environment, but she seemed to not have very good social skills, and lasting mental damage from being forced to brutally murder other fighters against her will.

Poor Lisette had social anxiety.

I reached up and grasped Lisette's hand in mine, and grinned up at her before smiling up at the Three Musketeers.

"Lily, Lisa, Lione," I began, gaining their attention, "This is Lisette! She will be working with you to look after me!"

They all looked up at Lisette with more curious gazes now, but Lily still looked cautious. Lisa pursed her lips slightly, but Lione, lovely Lione, stepped forward bravely and bowed deeply, "L-Looking forward to working with you, L-Lisette!"

Lisette instantly became flustered and bowed also, and so there were two bowing, flustered girls.

I giggled at their similar nervousness, and soon enough the air or caution died down.

It turns out, Lisa had been friends with a deaf girl in her youth, and had learned a form of sign language, so Lisette could speak to her without worrying about being misunderstood.

Lisa was surprisingly dedicated, despite her laid-back, nonplussed attitude most of the time. Unlike her sisters, she was a terrible singer, amusingly. It was ironic, considering Fishfolk are said to be the most beautiful of singers in all of Hearthia.

Lisa preferred the Bamboo Flute instead.

Lisette integrated into the family dynamic quickly and smoothly, though her tail caused her to trip and break dishes sometimes. It was no problem, though, because dishes are replaceable, and she is undoubtedly adorable when trying to rapidly sign, 'I'M SO SORRY, YOUNG MISTRESS, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!' But instead signing gobeldygook, causing those around her to either sigh in resignation or laugh.

And so, the regular study schedule resumed.

It wasn't until my fifth birthday that anything new happened, and basically, on noble children's fifth birthdays, they get tested for their affinities in magic.

Of course, such a momentous event such as that wouldn't go down without a fight, hm?
