《The God Effect》Chapter 2: Baby Life Is Not Exciting

~~~
My hearing was the first thing to fully form. I had surmised that I had been reborn into a newly born baby's body.
Well, more like I was reborn... literally.
Into some foetus.
It's kind of gross, you know? I have to be changed by someone else, have my bum wiped and be bathed by someone else.
I guess it's not so bad, though, considering I am still a teeny tiny flesh potato.
It's weird, but uh... I don't really mind sucking on a really big boob.
Really.
I liked boobs in my past life, so... Having a big boob? Nice.
I guess it's kinda weird, because originally hormones caused me to have a sexual response towards boobs, but now it's just a nice feeling, y'know? They're really soft and squishy.
But, don't be confused, I'm no mom-con, no. I just... really love boobs.
Anyway.
My hearing developed first, so I got the verbal information before visual. Turns out, my name, like my past life, is Yunano. My ma's name is Kallin, and pa's name is Kovrin. Ma wears the pants in the relationship.
Turns out that I've been born into a world where there's a hierarchy system. Ma and Pa are the Duke and Duchess of the Silvertongue family. The maids really love Pa, because he is really very handsome. He is an elf. A high-elf at that. He is very tall and slender, with long straight, silver hair that is either tied into a ponytail or left out. He has silver eyes and has a very cute nose. Ma is a human, and has wavy platinum blonde hair that comes down to her lower back. She ties it into a bun or a half-up half-down style usually. She is curvaceous, and is quite tall. She has light grey eyes and full pink lips. Both of them are well versed in combat.
Basically, both of my parents are stunning and are strong as hell.
My maids, Lily, Lisa and Lione all are in their twenties. Lily is stern and stressed, Lisa is relaxed and kind, and Lione is nervous to do well in her job. She's a clutz. My maids are triplets, and not to mention bombshell beauties. All of them are perfectly proportioned, all different from eachother.
Lily is tall and has a large bust, Lisa is short and has a large posterior, and Lione is average height and is well endowed in both assets. All of them have pastel purple hair, tied up in buns. If it weren't for their body types and personalities, you probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
My sight formed about a week and a half after my birth, and when I cracked my eyes open, my mother had gasped at my eyes.
Calling my father over, they both gawked at my big blinking orbs. Soon enough the three musketeers were also crowded around my crib, staring at my eyes, which were a perfect almost glittering silver. They seemed to be crystalline, according to the viewers, but I didn't really care.
Now that I have my eyesight, I can read books!
My first course of action once I gained my sight was gaining control over my chubby potato body. It took a little while, but after much training over the course of two days, my brain had caught up and was adequately controlling my body with finesse.
The second course of action was learning how to crawl, so I spent a few days learning how to do that. Once that was done, I managed to get out of my cot, and towards the bookshelf that was in my room, slipping a nameless book from it's position on the shelf into my hands.
Once I opened it, I realised instantly that I would need to venture further to obtain adequate reading material. The title of the book was 'The little wolf that could'. It was not really quite what I was searching for.
So the next opportunity I got, I ventured out of the bedroom, towards the library, where I knew I would find information pertaining this world.
I surprisingly hadn't been caught on my little escapade, and had managed to make my way all the way to the library, where I found the holy grail of information.
I had crawled my way to a shelf, and pulled out the first book I had found, 'The fundamentals of herbalism'.
An interesting topic for a first read, so I made my way to a couch, created a stairway of books to climb, and got onto the couch, flopping down onto the pillows, opening the cover and scanning the first page.
The only problem with this, was that I hadn't realised that I had caused a huge hullabaloo within the household, as the young mistress had become missing.
A baby. Missing. Yep, that's a great idea.
So whilst I was in the library, reading about the effects of 'Arrowhead Lestule' on curse induced warts, the rest of the household was in utter chaos trying to find me. Hours passed, and I eventually fell asleep, and Lione had found me, then let everyone know.
It must have been quite a sight, a practically newborn sitting on a couch, snoring loudly with an open book in its lap like an old man.
That, of course, was one of the first curiosities towards my intelligence.
The next, however, was the fact that I had advanced speed in development. I had learned how to walk within a month of existing. They proclaimed it 'a miracle of the gods', but really it was because I was doing workouts before sleep to enhance my strength in order to support my overly huge potato head.
I then learned how to talk. Lily was astounded at the sound of a tiny and cute, "Thank you," when she handed over a sweet milk drink. She had blanched, then called for the lord and lady of the house.
So basically, I was proclaimed as 'The Miracle Child' within the family, and as much as Papa wanted to boast to everyone over his incredible amazing child, Mama prevented him from doing as such, as she suspected that if we draw attention to me so early, it will definitely draw negative eyes to myself and my family, which is something we do not need.
Mama basically made the Three Musketeers and Papa swear an oath of secrecy, to not tell a soul about my advanced development speed.
The years passed, until my second birthday rolled around, where an interesting course of events unfolded.
I had been dressed in the morning by my Three Musketeers, in a dress that would have been deemed 'pretty' to the nobility of this country.
"Oh, you look so beautiful, my little lady!" Lione covered both of her cheeks with her hands, the flesh reddening under her flustered exposure. Lily smiled sharply, "Do not get this dress ruined, my little lady, it would be a waste to throw another one away,"
Lisa patted my head, and lazily smiled, "You're cute, bubs. Knock 'em dead out there,"
I nodded my head at Lisa and Lily, and smiled softly at Lione, "Thank you, Lione, you are also very beautiful!"
The three women all blushed at my expression and compliment, my adorableness overwhelming them. Suddenly, the door swung open, my Papa's face bursting in, blush coating his cheeks instantaneously as he saw my cute form, "Ahhhhh!!!" He exclaimed as he floated to the floor, "My sweetpea is too cute for this world!!!!"
I beamed at him completely out of spite, and he practically fainted at my breathtaking smile. My silver hair had grown to be shoulder length, my silver eyes were now framed by luscious dark silver lashes, and my skin was a perfectly pale and unblemished peach, an image of beauty.
For a child, I was quite possibly the most beautiful.
It was... kind of annoying.
People just... Faint at the sight of my smile. Can't I just be happy without hindering anyone else???
At least my maids could handle it.
Mama followed shortly after Papa, entering the room with uncontested grace, her firm gaze on me. She grinned and scooped me into her arms and nuzzled my face, making me giggle quietly and nuzzle back.
I hugged my Mama around her neck and she laughed softly, her face softening with it.
Papa basically had a seizure, crying, "MY TWO FAVOURITE GIRLS IN THE WORLD ARE TOO BEAUTIFUL TO EXIST!!!", before promptly fainting.
Papa was a bit extra sometimes, but it's fine. Everyone's got their quirks.
...
I should probably do something about my beauty making people faint, though. I'll do something about that after the party.
Once Mama had kicked Papa in the ribs woken up Papa, we all made our way to the courtyard, where my party was being held. The people invited were my family members, Cermania and Allemon Cruxia, my aunt and uncle, and their daughter, Rosetta. Cermania is my Papa's sister, and she married Allemon Cruxia, a Marquis from the Cruxia family. Rosetta is two years older than me, so she is four years old.
My other aunt and uncle, Annenen and Mollevia Silvertongue were invited, and their son Archinus was also invited, but Archinus was sick so he couldn't come. Annenen is Papa's older bro, and he's a tsundere guy. His wife, Mollevia, is so pure and their dynamic is kind of funny, because he's a needy asshole who doesn't wanna do anything, but literally just follows Mollevia wherever, with puppy eyes. Mollevia is basically just an angel.
My aunt Kaeli was invited, but she was in another country at the time, so she couldn't make it on time.
Basically, it was me, Mama, Papa, Lily, Lisa, Lione, Aunt Cermania, Uncle Allemon, Cousin Rosetta, Uncle Annenen and Auntie Mollevia. The butlers were there, but they didn't really talk that much.
My party was going to be in the garden, upon my request, so the courtyard garden was decked out with beautiful white tables and chairs, piled high with pastel sweets and ornamental cutlery and dishware.
To the side a small band was situated, it was comprised of my music teachers, as I had taken to learning an assortment of piano, flute, violin, viola, cello, bass, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, and drums. My mother had taken advantage of my seemingly crazily-mouldable brain, and stuffed my life with lessons in music, dancing, history, mathematics, art, writing, singing, hand-to-hand combat, and archery. Realistically, this brain was incredible. It seemed that because it was so young, it could learn at an incredible rate, and because I already had an understanding of an adult level, I could explore it in a way that no one had every done before. In my previous life I actually had a learning deficiency, called Attention Deficit Disorder, which stemmed from childhood developmental issues. It basically meant that my Frontal Lobe was underdeveloped and had trouble withholding information, unless it was a particular topic I was particularly passionate about. I had developed a learning habit that is far more than what others would need to follow in order to gain the same results, as I would have to work ten times hard to maintain half the amount of information. Basically, I was used to pushing myself to the limit in terms of learning, to a point where I would be in tears and falling asleep midway through tasks, as my brain, like a muscle, would become overworked and had trouble regulating itself. It proved to be very problematic for my social life, because not only had I personality problems, but I also just generally had trouble dealing with people, so I simply didn't have any friends. Mind you, I was sad about causing the loss in my family by my death, but I couldn't stop it, and loss is something that can be healed over time after all.
Basically, I went from working 24 hours a day to maintain a regular amount of information, due to an underperforming brain, to working 12 hours a day to maintain an incredible amount of information, due to a developing brain.
So this timetable didn't really stress me out too much, actually. I actually really enjoyed learning, despite having an underperforming brain in my past life, so this new life was like a dream.
Essentially, my life was filled with learning. I had learned that I was in a world called 'Hearthia', but even though it was named the same as my world that I had built in my previous life, I simply thought that I had been reincarnated into a world similar to my universe, like some Light Novel that I would read in my teenage years. It made me question, though. Did this world have magic? Well, mother is a human, but father is an Elf, and we have some staff that are beast kin, so there are fantasy races in this world.
As Mama walked with me, holding her hand, I spoke up, "Mama,"
She looked down at me, a smile on her features, "Yes, sweetheart?"
I blinked up at her with my big crystalline silver eyes, "Do we have magic?"
Mama's face dropped into one of shock, then she glanced away, humming, "Why do you ask?"
I hummed as I looked down at the ground, watching as the light hit the silver embroidery of the deep blue carpet, "Well," I looked up at her, "Magic is cool, and I wanna see some,"
Mother's face glanced down at mine, and flushed a light pink, before looking back up, "Yes, sweetheart, we do have magic, but for now, we need to say hello to your birthday guests, hm?"
I hummed along with her, before mumbling a quiet, "Okay..." and we silently made our way to the two large dark wood doors that led to the courtyard garden. I could hear the telltale low humming of the band that played from the corner, and the golden light that streamed through the arch windows made it evident that today was a perfect day to have a garden party.
Father smiled warmly at my mother and I before opening the double doors, the sweet-smelling breeze causing me to close my eyes, pastel pink petals brushing past my cheeks as the wind entered the hallway.
8 61The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!
