《The Wuxia Adventure of an Edgy Earthling with a System》Chapter 17: Light(n)ing up the winter night

Al had 4 points to allocate. Without so much as a second thought, he put one into Dexterity, leaving him with 3 points left, but stopped himself before putting a second one in. 'I gotta think about this carefully...'
Other than Toughness, since he wanted to train it up to E Grade, Strength seemed like a solid option. It would allow him to pierce through tougher enemies and just make him life easier in general, but... in the end he discarded it. He had already massively increased his Strength just by training, and his build didn't require much of it. Regarding his mental stats, he would definitely need more mana control for cultivation, and Intelligence provided just that. He put his second point there.
Will... it wouldn't help him as much as Intelligence, but it would still be nice to be able to keep [Body Enhancement] for longer... he decided to hold off on putting a point there for now.
Al briefly considered putting a point into Charisma, but he knew that would be idiotic.
Then he moved onto Perception. This one was a woozy. Al had been trying to upgrade his Perception for a while by looking at things reeeaaally hard or listening intently to his surroundings, but it really did seem like there was no way for him to train the stat. Clenching his teeth, he put his third point in there.
That left him with a hard choice. Should he put the last point into Will, or put a second one on Dexterity? After some deliberation, he chose the latter. He wanted to be as comfortable as possible in his body, after all.
When he mentally accepted the changes, he felt a myriad of different sensations. First of all, he felt as if he could suddenly move much more freely, as if he'd been moving through water but was now surrounded by air. It was different from the subtle but constant changes training provided, and Al had experienced this almost addictive feeling many times before.

He also felt like he could see everything slightly more neatly, and he could detect subtler changes in sounds.
In addition, he could feel the mana inside him more precisely, and even the mana diffused in the air surrounding him. "Damn, do mages on Earth feel these mana currents all the time? It's definitely useful, but kind of annoying," Al said as he examined his surroundings as if through new eyes.
He then decided to go out to test the upgrades, even though it was already dark out. He activated [Quick Steps] and sped off in a speed he hadn't reached in almost two years, rejoicing at the feeling of the wind against his face. He enhanced his body, along with his senses, with some lightning mana, and started simply running around, climbing up trees, jumping from roof to roof and enjoying his new freedom of movement.
He was in a daze, not even caring about the time. He did pirouettes through the air and landed them, nailing his feet into the ground. After some time, running up walls became much easier, so Al started doing it a lot more.
He had had to lower his [Body Enhancement] output to match his mana regen, but suddenly he felt like it became more efficient, so he started going even faster, weaving inbetween the trees like a blur, leaving scorch marks wherever he placed his feet.
Only when the sun started peeking from the distant mountains to the east did Al get out of his trance, panting and wheezing and out of mana, but suddenly feeling 10 years younger. 'Wait, then I wouldn't exist...'
Suddenly, Al realised that there were several blue screens in front of him.
[Quick Steps] Skill has reached Mid proficiency. It now works on vertical and slanted surfaces in exchange for mana. [Body Enhancement] Skill has evolved into [Physical Augmentation] and [Sense Enrichment] [Physical Augmentation] (Low): Enhances either your whole body or parts of it in an optimal way. +50% efficiency in comparison to [Body Enhancement] (Mid) and (High) [Sense Enrichment]: Enhances some or all of your senses in an optimal way. +100% efficiency in comparison to [Body Enhancement] (high)

This was incredible news. Al knew the [Body Enhancement] skill has potential to evolved, but it was extremely rare for a skill to evolve into two separate ones. Who knew what they would turned into when their proficiency went up.
Al was itching to test his new capabilities in a fight, but his body was still that of a kid, so he went to bed before the adults woke up.
Khan-Wan could not for the life of her believe what she had just witnessed. She already knew that Al was special, that his mental age was higher than that of his body.
She knew that he was a proficient warrior capable of singlehandedly dealing with Rank 2 monstruosities, a child- no, a man with extensive medical knowledge, whose talent in cultivation was unfathomable, even overshadowing Yulia, who could be considered a genius that appeared once a generation.
But still...
She refused to believe what her eyes had showed her.
He was like the incarnation of a god.
She had gone to use the outhouse when the sun was setting, and didn't close the door since there was no need. Suddenly Al had stormed out of his room, his skin crackling with lightning, his glowing eyes brightening the broad grin on his face.
Then he sped off, doing loops around the orphanage at a speed her eyes could barely keep up with.
After several minutes, he had started jumping up onto the wall and back to the ground, or going from tree to tree simply by placing his feet on the right branches and using them as footholds until just before they snapped, as if he'd been doing it for decades.
Hours passed, but he didn't slow down, he instead started to do more and more outrageous stunts, such as running on the wall of the orphanage, then jumping onto the roof and doing impossible pirouettes in the air, and getting straight back to running just as he landed on the ground.
Then he began glowing even more brightly, and started running along the trunks of the trees, using vertical surfaces as if they were stable footholds, even using them to jump exorbitantly high into the air.
No human should be able to do that. He might not know it, but he must be the apostle of god.
Al felt sore all over when he woke up that morn... midday. It was midday already.
He hadn't noticed it when he went to sleep, but perhaps it was just because of the adrenaline rush. He decided to check his Status once again, since not much time had passed since the last time he did, a lot of things had changed in that time. When he thought it, the blue screen appeared in front of him.

It was very satisfying to see a D in there, and his skill list had already grown longer than it had ever been in his past life. He'd never been one to value skills too much, preferring levels and actual combat experience, but after last night he had certainly changed his way of thinking.
Al didn't know how easy or hard creating another skill would be though, so until he thought of a really good one, he would focus on increasing his levels and proficiency of his current skills.
He felt his [Lightning Palm] would improve quicker in actual combat, and his two new enhancement skills seemed to be perfect for combat as well, so Al would kill two birds with one stone.
"Let's go beast hunting!"

The Casual
Notice: On hiatus. *profanity tag added just in case a bit of swearing is required, but I'll try to keep it as profanity-lite as possible* RealWorldIII came with the motto "Bringing the imagination back into the gaming" with an innovative skill combination system that promises to create unique (see: not-actually-unique) characters tailored to each player's preferences (see: we-swear-it's-not-random) Alex is a random guy with the motto "Well... whatever" with a history of being at the top of the gaming scene (see: he was a kid back then) that after twenty years of working for daily necessities finds himself facing a tough dilemma: do I go back to being a corporate slave, or do I gain money by playing a game no questions asked? (see: not really a dilemma) The only question is, can an actual "casual", even if ex-pro, survive constantly playing a game? or will he end banging his head on the wall? The story will unfold mainly in-game, with little if any real life events happening.

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.

My Multisystem In Isekai
Zavier met Cosmic Consciousness after his death. He was satisfied with every system that Cosmic Consciousness exhibited, so he wanted all of them. Surprisingly, the Cosmic Consciousness obliged him. Zavier was reborn in an isekai full of magic and alchemy. Now, he had many routes to upgrade. Interestingly, to coordinate these systems, Cosmic Consciousness gave him the gift of being able to duplicate himself. He could clone a finite number of himself to manipulate these systems. Magus, Alchemist, Mesmer, Tamer, Hunter, Vampire, Werewolf, Dragonknight, Necromancer..... ----- It will be a story that focuses on combat and levelup but still has many mature contents. I've read a lot of fiction about cool systems, so I wanted to try one. So many amusing ideas popped up that I didn't know how to choose the best one. After a long time, I decided to blend them into one story. So the MC will have many routes to upgrade and, of course as well, many pretty female characters. I can't wait to share these with you guys!

Stairway to Heaven
Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings, far too weak to survive amid the other extraterrestrials that lie dormant across the galaxies. Instead of physical altercations, they would rather engage in verbal abuse, breaking an individual's psyche as a hobby. They excel at deception and manipulation, far too interested in bringing their brothers and sisters down and reaching for the top of their self-made hierarchies. Beyond their questionable nature and moral compasses, they long to find meaning in their lives and put names to the feelings that drive each passing moment. They are insatiable—far too greedy for more knowledge and a supposed understanding of their lives. It's pitiable, really, the way they struggle to find themselves while ravaging their kind through petty wars and conflicts built off of misunderstanding. Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings. They created words and languages to fill the holes that lived inside their souls, desperate for ways to find meaning in their incredibly short lifespans. They'll waste their entire lives trying to find their so-called passions and reasons for living, acting as if they truly rule the way their lives go, supposed "controllers of their own destiny." Yet, they cannot evade the inevitable visit from death, who stands next to them, ticking the seconds down until their demise.
