Darkness. Blackness. Shadowiness. Light.
No light.

The only explanation could be blindness.
The only explanation for that blindness could be a dream.
Forcing a long deep breath, he first told his racing thoughts and beating heart to calm down.

But he didn’t feel his mouth, throat or lungs necessary to take that breath.
“…?”
With his hands, he tried to feel to touch the parts that he couldn’t feel were there. Nothing. He could not touch them. He could not feel them. The reason was simple: he couldn’t feel his hand either. Or his legs. Or his feet. Or his head. Or his body. At that moment they did not exist for Knight.
All Knight was, was a consciousness. His existence was as consciousness alone.
-Darkness. Blackness. Shadowiness. All except Light.
-Blindness.
The simple reason was: the abyss.
The world was engulfed in darkness. The abyss. All that could be left are people’s wandering souls.
-No.
There was a much simpler reason: It was a dream.
Yes. That was it. This was surely a dream.
A dream filled with darkness. Or a dream void of light.
A dream. What purpose does it have?
‘-Contemplate.’
A dream to contemplate. That was it.
‘-Why are you here?’
A dream to ask those questions.
‘-What are you doing?’

‘-Following. Granted the chance of a lifetime. Yet… Mindlessly. Mindlessly following.’

‘Again. What are you doing in this world? What are you striving for?’

‘To be someone’s puppet?’
‘No…’
‘Because you lack power?’

‘Pitiful.’
Darkness. Blackness. Shadowiness.
-Abyss.
Was this a dream?
The answer is simple: Whatever the abyss wanted it to be.
‘Power. Power. Power.’
Softly whispering into Knight’s blind consciousness, the abyss continued.

‘The flickering flame grows in darkness. Darkness caused by blindness. Blindness dropped from the abyss.’

Eroding the boundaries of the darkness.

The blindness. The darkness. The abyss. All were eroded.

The fire danced upon the stones, flaring its orange light to crack Knight out of the darkness.
A glint of the orange flame flickered black in his drooping eyes.
