["The Host has successfully killed and absorbed a Devil Snake. Awarding Host with 1,000,000 XP, the 'Unique Skill: Corruption', and 10% of the Devil Snake bloodline."]
Feeling extremely excited to get a ton of XP, a skill he wanted and some of the Devil Snake's bloodline, Lucifer hurriedly checked out the description of the new skill.

[Unique Skill: Corruption]
By continuously keeping eye contact with a target, the target's mind will gradually become blurry and chaotic, until they reach a state near madness. However, if eye contact is severed before the target is driven near madness, the effects will be cancelled after a while.

'Oh, so I can even advance now!' Lucifer was feeling excited but also dejected at the same time due to him being unable to advance while being on the battlefield. The reason was that Loton his system would need a certain amount of time to modify his body to the selected stage, and that would make him fall unconscious.
Looking around at the somewhat shocked nearby beast's and humans Lucifer flapped his wings to continue to hunt for prey that would give him huge amounts of XP, good skills and strong bloodlines. Finding a good spot with many corpses and rivers of blood flowing, Lucifer once more activated his Blood Strengthening skill to become strong enough to fight some of the strong Lord ranks.

The blood within a couple of kilometres began to first move gradually, but as a little over a second passed, it began to fly through the air towards Lucifer at an insane speed. Due to the blood flying through the air insanely fast, multiple humans and beasts were cut in half almost as if the blood was a sharp sword cutting through butter.
Suddenly all attention within a couple of kilometres was put on Lucifer once again. Nobody could react in time before they were cut in half and killed by the flying blood. Although the blood hurt others, as soon as it came into contact with Lucifer, it mysteriously disappeared and was completely absorbed. This stunned many and put the attention onto him.
As Lucifer had put his concentration on absorbing blood, he didn't know what was going on around him and therefore didn't stop.
Suddenly, a human charged towards Lucifer with a murderous glare in his eyes. But before he could even get close to him, he'd already been cut in half by the blood, and his blood was flying towards Lucifer to be absorbed.
More and more were killed by the blood, with no regards to them being humans or beasts. Everything that came into contact with the blood was killed in a cruel way that left many of the spectators with their mouth wide open and fear in their eyes.
["Warning, due to continues use of the skill 'Blood Strengthening' the Host's MP is draining quickly."]
After continuously using the Blood Strengthening skill for some time, Lucifer's MP had gone down immensely, but he had in return become much stronger than before. He stopped using the skill, and the blood flying towards him once again fell to the ground as if it was completely harmless. Many heaved a sigh of relief as they didn't want to die to an unknown but extremely powerful dragon, that had come out of nowhere.

His HP had gone up the same amount as last time, probably due to him not having gotten more MP to work with. As he looked around, with his reptile eyes, a cold shiver went down his back, as he noticed that almost 70% of all living beings within a couple of kilometres around him had been cut in half, completely killing them. He was standing in the middle like a God of Death, completely controlling life and death of the humans and beasts that surrounded him.
The surviving couldn't help but feel extreme fear as they looked at the mysterious dragon, which now emitted a stronger pressure than before, making them feel extremely uncomfortable.
Lucifer flapped his wings and flew into the air, to further explore the enormous battlefield that stretched thousands of kilometres in each direction. He'd already gotten much stronger in just a short amount of time, and he was wondering what kind of luck and treasure he would be able to find.
A while later, Lucifer stopped in midair as a thought came across his mind.
'If I'm able to find more of the Devil Snakes, I might just be able to complete its bloodline and merge it with my own, increasing my strength once more.' Deciding what to do, Lucifer began looking around him at his surroundings to stop more of the Devil Snakes.
Flying around for a couple of hours, he didn't even find a single one that he would easily be able to kill. Most of the ones he'd found were at the peak of Lord rank and he wouldn't be able to kill those. The only choice was for him to fly in a large circle around.
After a couple of days of flying around, Lucifer had finally found another one of the Devil Snakes, which increased his mood.
A few minutes later, the Devil Snake fell to the ground, dead. It wasn't a hard-fought battle, but it made Lucifer happy as he had thought that there weren't any Devil Snakes that he could kill, without too much of a hassle. He walked to its side and stared at it with a hint of mockery but also excitement.
- "Absorb."
["The Host has successfully killed and absorbed a Devil Snake. Awarding Host with 500,000 XP, the 'Passive Skill: Corpse Regeneration', and 10% of the Devil Snake bloodline."
'Now that I've gotten the Corpse Regeneration skill, I'll be able to use my Blood Strengthening skill a lot more often.' Feeling extremely excited, Lucifer quickly began to scout for more of the Devil Snakes.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.

The Weaver's Wrath
Millennia have passed since the end of the God Wars. Mankind's heroes of these wars, the powerful Luminescents, have since become the rulers of the lands, relying on their ancestors' deeds to fuel their own ambitions. The Church itself has fractured since the death of their Goddess. Now it has shifted its focus to a new power - the descendents of the men and women who had received her blessing in the past - the Luminescents. However, with the death of the Goddess Selene, their own abilities began to lessen in quality with each successive generation, leaving them grasping desperately at whatever they can; money, lands, power. Sevrath was born in a time far different than that of ages past. Much of the continent was under the rule of the powerful Luminescent rulers. The Gods were dead and gone; the age of man had begun.
