《The Gamer's core》Chapter 03: hut in the forest

As Damian tries to move, he felt the floor squeaking under every motion his body makes. The smell of moisture filled the air tickling his nose. As he slowly opened his eyes, he feels insecure, and though his eyes had yet to adjust under the uneven lightings, he was certain that this place was not the apartment he was in.
His hands feeling their way across the dusty wooden floor, and the incoming light from different angles bugged his eyes till it finally adjusted, "-where am I?-" was the first thought that crossed his mind.
You have arrived at Abandoned Hut.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a window appears in front of Damian, causing him to jump back in surprise. He kept staring at it for a few moments before it fades slowly out of existence, "wait, am I still in the game?" Damian slowly stands up, looking around. A small makeshift bed from nothing more than sheets and hay, handmade fireplace on the wall facing him, dust covering the creaking wooden floor with the exception of the place where he was lying on, to find out that he was actually in a small rundown hut.
" -but this doesn't make sense-" Damian started pondering while he walked around in circles. "-Knights of Oblivion did have impressive graphics, but this is too realistic, and the smell and touch are even beyond the VR-X2 capabilities. Not to mention I can feel the moisture in the air, there is also...-" while he was in deep thoughts, his foot bumped into something, it was a dusty book just lying there, Damian picked it up out of curiosity.
you have acquired Kasron's diary keep discard
"-there it is again-" Damian flinched slightly before examining it with his eyes, waiting for it to fade like the last one, but this window didn't. Although it kept following the direction he was facing like the last one, "-wait a second this reminds me of a manga I read long ago about a person who had the ability of a game character but in real life... could it be?-", His left hand went to the floating plate, and his index finger pressed the word (keep), it felt like pressing on smooth wooden board. Ripples showed originating from where Damian's finger touched, for a moment before it suddenly disappeared and the diary too vanished from his hand.
Damian was stunned for a moment before realizing what happened, "- so it could be that I do have the ability of a gamer-" he kept his silence briefly before uttering the word "inventory." Suddenly a window with 9 slots appeared, causing a wide Grin to show on Damian's face, not being able to contain overflowing joy. "THIS IS AWESOME!" with all his excitement, Damian started jumping around in the hut.

After a while, he tried calming himself down "ok, relax, deep breaths," he took a chunk of air into his lungs before continuing, "now what do we have in here" he noticed three slots were occupied while the other six were empty. The first on the left was Kasron's Diary, which Damian reached and pulled out immediately, Apparently quite old, and the thin leather cover was a bit damaged. After opening the diary, Damian frowned as the texts were in a language he couldn't understand. He thought about throwing it, but after thinking it over, it might come in handy, so he pushed it back into the empty slots, which then turned into a cartoon picture of the Diary.
After looking at the other slots, Damian's eyes widened and glittered since he knew these two items all too well " B-B-Blood seeker and K-Karma's echo !?", he tried to pull Blood seeker, but a window appeared in front of him, making his face frown.
you do not have the required Stats to equip this item
"-you don't have the required... now that I think about it-" Damian thought before he ordered "close" the inventory disappeared as soon as he said it "-now let's see if this works-" then he issued another command "Stats!", another window opened that resurrected his grin back to life.
Name - Level Damian - 1(2.5%) Title Gamer Stats Health 100/100 Stamina 100/100 Strength Endurance Intellect Wisdom 10 10 10 10 Agility Perception Willpower Luck 10 10 10 10 Skills Gamer's core - Lvl 1 Scan - Lvl 1
With a wide grin still placed on his face, "this is the best birthday gift ever!... even if this is a dream I never want to wake up" with discovering this new ability, Damian felt ecstatic while looking over his Stats "-it seems the system is based on Knights of oblivion ... and it seems my basic Stats are reset to an average healthy person since am not much of an athlete I do feel a little stronger... but since I don't have a Mana Bar could it be that I can't use magic? or is...-"
You gained 1 INT
"WHAT THE!?" Damian got startled yet again from the unexpected window that slowly faded into thin air seconds after popping suddenly in his face, "-could it be...?-" an idea jumped into his head before he lay down facing the ground and started doing pushups. He kept doing them till he felt that he's reaching his end when suddenly.

You gained 1 STR
As he fell to the dusty floor with bits of drops forming on his forehead, gasping rolling on his back, "I... Knew... it!
You gained 1 WIS
"-so this means my Strength goes up when I do manual labor and my Intellect goes up with learning, but I don't know how Wisdom goes up maybe it's the same as Intellect... no that's not it-" after pondering over the subject for a while, Damian decides to drop it for now and focus on something else "stats!" right when the Stats menu appeared he looked at it while still lying on his back he declares "Scan" while focusing his gaze on ( Gamer's core ). Opening another small menu.
Gamer's Core - Lvl 1 You have obtained the ability to learn and evolve as a Game character.
"well, that's vague," Damian frowned before focusing his attention on the other Skill "Scan!".
Scan - Lvl 1 The ability to examine an object or a person.
"what's with the simple explanations... but that gives me an idea...Inventory!" the command was issued. Opening the inventory, Damian reaches in, pulling the Diary, looking at it before declaring, "Scan!"
Kasron's Diary The Diary of Kasron
"I can't even call this an explanation...but since it's at Lvl 1, my guess is that the more I use it, the stronger it get's" A rude growling emitted from inside Damian's body, signaling his body's need for a feast interrupting his train of thoughts forcing him to leave the embrace of the hard, dusty floor, to sit down in crossed legged position.
"guess I do need to find something to eat first but... where am I?" Damian stands up as his hands occupy themselves with dusting off what his army-like trousers collected all the way to his black T-shirt, and finally aiming to the makeshift door yet he opens it slightly peeking through the gap he made by opening it as little as possible as to not draw any attention to himself. After gazing to the outside, all he saw were trees and bushes.
This time the gap widens, and Damian slips his whole head outside looking into his surroundings..., more bushes and tree but no one is in sight "-I don't know if someone brought me here or not, but I'm not sticking around to find out-" he thought to himself before bolting out of the hut with everything he got aiming towards the big trees and thick bushes.
Damian kept running for five minutes before he lost strength in his legs tumbling and falling on the grass, gasping for air before peeking around to check if he was being followed, "no one's following, guess I ran all that hard for noth...".
You gained 1 AGI
A window popped into existence to yet again force Damian to jump falling on his back " WOULD... you stop doing that!?" he complained as he leaned his shoulder on a tree while still hiding whatever part of his body behind it when another window appeared causing him to flinch again "I give up" but right before this window faded Damian noticed that this one was different.
You have learned -Dash-
"what the!?... Scan!" Damian quickly declared before the Skill information appeared.
Dash - Lvl 1 You Dash to a maximum of 2 meters.
"-am not sure how this might come in handy-" Damian was about to change his location, when he heard a rustling in the bushes nearby, which made him stick to the tree even more as if his life depended on it "-did they find me!?-" after an agonizing minute a white rabbit approached a clearing between the bushes it came from and the one Damian hid in. Still, this rabbit was the strangest Damian had ever seen since it was bigger than a cat and had a horn half of the rabbit's length coming out of its forehead.
Damian was a bit fascinated by the white creature, fearing to scare it away he didn't dare move a muscle and wanting to know about the creature, he remembered his skill and he whispered it softly as to not alert the critter of his whereabout with his eyes examining it "Scan." Pearl horn rabbit - Lvl 1 Health 10/10 Mana 10/10
Damian's tongue circled, wetting his dry lips while his tummy issued the faint warcry, and all he could think about is "-lunch is served-".

The Lies They Told Me: Short stories from my life
Like many of my peers, I've discovered that life is not quite what I expected it to be. As I age, I've begun to find that many of the sayings and truths that my parents, authority figures, and friends have passed on to me were outright lies. Every person I know has been subject to the same interactions, which got me thinking, why not write a compilation of stores about my life experiences to date. I hope that this book will help all of us come to terms with the realities that we face today or deal with some of our deepest feelings about the past. Maybe these people lied to us and maybe they honestly believed the myriad of things they told us, but either way I think we can have a good laugh looking back and remembering the first times that we realized these things weren't true. I also hope that you can look back at the lies, or life lessons, that you've learned and can be inspried to own your stories and share them with others in a genuine way. Wiithout further ado, I hope that you enjoy the many short stories of my life that made me who I am today. These stories range from funny to down right surrel, so good luck on your journey!

Challenged Dungeon and the Arrival of Mana
One day, a few spirits drifting through the astral plane discover Earth and decide to create dungeons to bridge the gap between worlds, and eventually make themselves the gods of Earth. After being created, Three has the misfortune of falling through a grate in an alley in New York City and making that its entrance. Suddenly propelled to sizes much larger than an infant dungeon should be it becomes the frontrunner of all its sibling dungeons, yet faces problems initially attracting creatures. Three's problems only worsen over time as its demanding and seemingly capricious creator gradually strips away its ability to be a true dungeon while compelling it to reach a nearly impossible goal: conquer all humans. Also follow Stan, the alcholic veteran cop and his pet cat Ms. Winters as they get embroiled into the arrival of dungeons and mana. I have most of the story mapped out, but it can still use some work, my goal is to release at least a chapter a week until I am finished. I would greatly appreciate any help proofreading or editing, and advice is always appreciated. UPDATE School caught up with me back then and I lost the thread, so this is now (definitely) dropped, sorry all, maybe I'll get back to it one day.
