Chapter 182: Noah
Excerpt from the book “Energies of the world” By Rosalie
That is the final energy I documented during my career. List too short? Well, we are always looking for researchers.
I’ve gotten older, much faster than others. Exposed to negative energies for so long, it has its toll. Not to say it’s only bad. Having been exposed to such a variety of energy, I imagine my body would make an excellent specimen for study. I can feel it inside me, you know. The nature energy healing me while the entropic powers tear me down.
The mana trying to maintain order while the corrupting energies try and warp me. So many things happening inside me I’ve started studying it.
Its commonly believed that specific energies can’t co-exist like natural energy and deathly energies. I am living evidence that with enough time and the correct combination, they can, in fact, exist in the same space.
I thank being exposed to the time wave; that beautiful golden energy has slowed down the faster-acting powers, giving me more excellent stability. It’s not perfect, though, and I will die soon. I’ve donated my body to science for what it’s worth.
So consider this story my last mark on this beautiful world. And a warning for those who stick their fingers into too many pies.
Waking early, bed damp with perspiration. Shaking the shiver from my bones, I get up and stretch. Feeling my stiff limbs become a slight bit more limber. Cracking my neck and preparing for the day ahead.
I head downstairs, preparing a small fruit bowl to sustain me for a little while. Eating it as I disappear to my town. Spending the morning filling out the walls, adding more shield blocks, and just doing general maintenance.
Saying hello to the residents, letting them know I am here. I even, at one point, went into the vampire’s area to check on them. They were, of course, all asleep. No signs of any issues, but just in case, I left them a complaints board to write on.
I’ll have to make it a routine to do some work on the town each day. I chose to take a brisk stroll around the perimeter; rather than just teleport away. It’s good I did, as I found an odd brown worm attempting to burrow through the walls.
It was a few meters long with a large jaw and stubbly limbs on each of its segments. It had a shiny carapace that bled green when I ran it through. “No one touches my town,” I say in a dramatic voice. Cringing afterwords slightly at the extends I will go to alleviate my boredom.
Once home, I prepared some lunch. Just some cheese on toast. Nothing special, but it’s the little things. With lunch satisfied, I said hello to Jengal and Cassie. Playing a card game with the former and cuddling the latter.
Once my social responsibilities were done, I did my islands maintenance. Refilling things, trimming the ever-appearing trees, culling the fish because they have become a little overpopulated. How they survive on nothingness, I don’t know.

With all that done, I have half a day to play with. I spent this time reading random books, doing a dash of art, and exploring the NEI and its great depths.
Going through the NEI reminded me about the slashers blade mod I mentally noted to play with.
With that in mind, I craft a wooden sword. Striking a monster once, so it lost one durability. I then turned it into a wooden katana. Grasping the smooth wooden tool in my hand, it was light, like a feather. With a swoosh, I moved through the air with little effort.
It was easy to swing, but I quickly realized that I lacked finesse. There was an almost guiding aspect to it, though. I knew which angle I needed to slash it in, and it was just muscle memory to learn. At first, it was simply swung in the air, but eventually, that changed to monsters.
It was at this point that I noticed cracks accumulating on the blade. At one point, it simply crumbled to dust, leaving behind a glowing orb, moving like fire, a proud soul. Well, multiple, in fact.
A couple of these katanas were destroyed in me playing around, but eventually, I craved better. So I made a metal katana, which I then renamed, turning it into a bewitched katana. I then took one of the proud souls, precisely one with a different color to the rest. It had an enchantment on it, fortune. Placing the fire against the blade caused it to disappear into the edge, releasing black sparks. It suddenly took on a silky black sheen as it was upgraded once more.
Grasping this katana, I felt the difference. It had a little more weight, but as it moved through the air, it felt powerful. It was almost dragged along. Striking monsters caused cracks to form and proud souls to simply drop away every now and then. Some with enchants, which immediately got added to the blade. Those without enchants also got added, but for a different reason. They repaired the edge. I even started to gain a surplus of proud souls.
From this point on in the mod, all you really can do is strive for a special katana. They all have different requirements. For example, there is a requirement for you to get 1000 kills on a wooden katana. It breaks easily and would need repairing constantly. Once you reach that threshold, it can be crafted into the unique blade tied to the requirement.
Personally, I don’t really care to do that. You don’t really gain much in the process. As you strike with any katana, you build a combo. The more strikes you get without being damaged, the more damage the katana can deal. Like a killstreak almost, but far more stringent.
Once I got bored playing with the katana, I repaired it and tossed it into my golden bag for a rainy day. Unfortunately, I forgot about it when I needed it. My power staff is far superior to it. So it has been reduced to almost just a toy.

Having had some fun, I retire for the day. Preparing a meal of veg and meat. In this case, samphire and fish. With a light sauce drizzled on top.
And then I went to bed, enjoying the phone. Watching stupid youtube videos and playing around before falling asleep.
And this is how my days went for several weeks. Working on my town, social visits, maintenance, messing with a mod, bed. Dates spattered across the weeks with Cassie, the occasional visit to town with Jengal. But it varied very little. I enjoyed it; the peacefulness was strange. It was like I was back home on earth. But as we all know, calmness doesn’t last.
Midday, between maintenance tasks, a golden shimmer appeared in the periphery of my vision. A familiar voice echoed across the sky.
“Update Announcement! The recipe book has been added. If you have the materials, you will unlock all items you can make with the items in hand. Have fun!” With a sickening laugh at the end.
“I’m sure you will,” I say with a snarl. All Felix does is cause trouble; I was just getting comfortable.
And just like that, Felix disappears, leaving another planet-shaking event in his wake.
I could almost count the seconds before I heard “Aeternum!” As Jengal rushes towards me. Breath sputtering in his shock and excitement. He seems panicked, but I can see the grin on his face. “What’s happening? Why can I see recipes.”
“Cause God is a dick.”
Jengal cocks his head, “why is this a bad thing?”
Valid question if you know as little about this world as the common populace does.
With a deep exhale and a sigh, I speak. “Because everyone in the world can now work towards crafting extremely hazardous items. Yeah, people will now be able to make their way in the world. But with a little bit of greed and malicious intent, bombs that can annihilate towns can be made. Magic spells that can turn farmland into a wasteland. Bacteria that can eat the world. All these things can happen.” Looking Jengal in his eye for a reaction.
He seems conflicted, face gradually moving through different emotions.
He turns a degree towards me, voice a little higher than before. “What do we do?”
And for the first time since coming here, I say, “I don’t know.”
I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what will happen.
Jengal is a little shocked. Moments later, Cassie walks by. Who also has all the exact same questions, and so I give her the same rundown.
“And that’s why we’re fucked.” I say with a shrug, moving towards my living room and flopping onto the sofa.
Closing my eyes, I think about what can be done about this situation.
Sitting up after a while, Cassie and Jengal have left. For what reason, I don’t know. But I have a plan; no, the last resort.
With supplies in hand, I head to the hole in the world. Feeling a light snap as the blind spot surrounds me. Making my way through and entering the portal, I began to plan “Noah.”
Leaving the area and entering the void, I begin to layout a layer of stone, then a layer of grass on top. A few hills, ponds, and small lakes later, I enclose the whole thing in obsidian. Placing Glowstone on the roof.
Next, I fill it with oxygen and plant many silver wood trees and Greatwood trees. Between them, I grow a small amount of each sapling I have collected. Next, I fill it with animals.
Extra-large biosphere complete.
I make a second, a third, and a fourth, all side to side. Spending days inside, slowly expanding cell by cell the biospheres. It took days, perhaps a week, to complete so many, but it wasn’t too tricky with a builders wand. And with all the Silverwood trees, the whole thing is a magical forest, magically enclined. Had the tear apart the Silverwood tree nearby, I managed to get multiple saplings off each tree. Thankfully it didn’t teleport away like everything else. I also artificially expanded it using dimensional doors. Creating rooms throughout the forest. Empty, but habitable.
Inside one of the biospheres, I create a massive amount of farms. All generating every material I have the seed for. I then spent ages getting every single seed I could with the resources I had at my disposal.
Next, I made a massive docking bay kind of area. In a similar cell-like format, side by side but smaller. Each with its own exit door. Inside each, I prepare an entire enclosed ship using Archimedes ships. Each with trees and plants aplenty for oxygen along with Glowstone. Mini flying ships with unlimited oxygen.
While doing all this, I barely slept, working in an almost fervor. Once complete, I nearly stumbled in shock at how much I had actually done. I lost track of time, but I’ve made a miniature world. A giant biome with ships to leave and all the resources needed.
Now, the finishing touches. In the most extensive and deepest lake, at the bottom, I create a secret door. Several shields, reinforced stone, and security measures later, I made a room. Placing my clones inside, just in case.
With that complete, I head home. Half expecting desolate destruction. But upon teleporting to my island, I found it relatively peaceful. I did tell them I would be gone for a few weeks to sort something.
Wandering around, I found Jengal watching something on his phone.
Hearing my footsteps, he looks at me with a smile. “Back already? Thought you were gonna be weeks.” He half asks half states.
“I was….” Questions mounting.
With a raised eyebrow, Jengal replies. “You have been gone less than a day, man.”
Turning away, “ah, I see.”
