Chapter 141: Y
Upon walking through the door and seeing myself waving, Jengal looks stunned. His stupor quickly being replaced by excitement as he rushes towards me. Spilling a little milk in the process, causing his mother to scold him.
“No rushing with the milk!”
He slows down, bowing his head. “Sorry.” He says. Setting the milk down, rushing towards me.
“What ya here for today? Got a new game to play?”
“Better, a gift.”
“Mum always said never to decline a gift.”
“I am going to give you it, but I could use your help in educating people how to use it.” Handing him one of the phones.
“What is it?” He asks.
“That is a phone; click the side button to turn it on.”
He does it, going wide-eyed as it blooms into life. Turning to his mother, I ask her, “wanna help me catch him up to speed?”
“Sure, Darling.”
We spend the next hour getting him up to speed and playing with the devices.
“I love it; I will never be bored again.”
His mother speaks, “try calling me again.”
“We have already done it like 3 times.”
“But I want to hear your new ringtone.” She pouts.
“Later.”
“Fine.” She says; before leaving for the kitchen.
“Okay, what do you need help with?” Jengal asks me.
“Well, as you seen, people will struggle with learning how to use them.”
“And you want me to teach people.”
“Well, yes. Not one on one, demos. Host events where you teach people how to use them.”
“I guess I could do that. Why don’t you do it?”
“I will help, maybe do it a little. Yet, I am not that good at doing demonstrations.”
“You are just trying to get out of work.”
“Caught me.” I say teasingly.
He rolls his eyes, “alright, if I am doing demos, I need to know even more.”
“That makes sense.”
We then spent the next hour going over every fundamental thing I can think of. How to use settings, the web browser, which came with a neat little website maker. Putting it on my list to play with.
A lot of things lack actually stuff, given the lack of a community. That won’t last, I assured Jengal.
Quickly checking the user tab, I see over two thousand users. Making progress, I see.
“Any questions, Jengal?”
“Just one. Where the hell did this come from? It is amazing.”
“I made them.”
“Where did you get the recipe?” He inquires with suspition.
“Did everyone suddenly become more aware or something?” I say out loud, shaking my head.”
“No, I just generally ignore your abnormalities.”
“I appreciate that.”
“You distracted me; where did you get the recipe?”
“Let’s just say I have the means to find any recipe.”
“That is amazing! You could destroy kingdoms with that kind of power. How do you make a anvil?”
“3 blocks of iron on top, 3 iron bottom, and 1 mid,” Didn’t even have to check NEI for that. Having long since memorized it.

“Wow, that is incredible. How do you make an enchanting table?”
“4 obsidian, same shape as anvil. 2 diamonds on either side of mid and a book on top.”
“Okay, I believe you. How do you make…”
“Please don’t berate me for stupid recipes.”
“Sorry.” He says in shame.
“I would share the gift, but imagine how much damage that could do.” Imagining the destruction that could occur.
“I see your point.” He says, nodding knowingly.
“A lot of recipes exist for things that should never be made.”
“like what?” He inquires.
“Necromancy, blood magic, that stuff. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t inherently evil. For example, blood magic can be done with zombie blood. Now, a lot of people would just use human blood. You can see how it could be abused and why it should be left off the board.”
“Why would you even use blood magic?”
“It is powerful magic. You can make yourself unkillable, areas unreachable, control the world.”
“I see, that sounds powerful.”
“Power blinds people.”
“Very true. Nobles are a great example.” He snickers.
Rolling my eyes, “they aren’t all bad.”
“Still, power misuse isn’t that rare.”
“It could be far worse, trust me.” I hand him a chest linked to my supply of smartphones.
“Inside that chest lies an infinite supply of phones. Distribute them and hold the demos with them. Don’t forget to include the charger.”
“Got it; I will try and do a good few demos.”
“Thanks, now I best visit Cassie. She will be annoyed if I don’t personally give her the phone.”
“Want a tip?”
“Sure.”
“Her favorite flowers are purple lilac.”
“Good to know, thanks.”
Heading out, instead of heading straight to Cassie’s house, I take a detour. Heading home, I drop down into the forest. Walking along the trail looking through flowers. Eventually I found a small patch of purple lilac. Taking a couple and bundling them together before teleporting to Cassie's house.
“Knock, knock.”
“Who is it?” I hear through the door.
“Aeternum.”
Door opens, revealing Cassie, hair a little messy. She spots the flowers, looks at me and then immediately jumps into my arms.
“Thanks for the flowers.” She says, squeezing me.
“Sorry, I should have taken my armor off.”
“Your loss.” She says.
“Anyway, I bring gifts.” I say, handing her a phone. “May I come in to teach you how to use it.”
She takes the phone in curiosity, ushering me inside.
Taking a seat at her sofa with her, minus the armor this time. Looking around, I think she decorated recently. The different shades of blue for walls and smell of paint verify that.
“You decorated?”
“Yeah, got bored of the dirty green color.”
“Anyway, let’s get your phone set up.”
I click the power button. “That is how you turn it on. This wire charges it.” Handing her a charger too.
“First, open your shop and get the red app.” She does it with ease, “wow, you are a natural.”

She blushes at my words, ducking her head slightly.
We watch my videos together, allowing her to ask me questions. The questions let me know what I need to do for future videos. Some small things weren’t easy to understand. Thankfully, most of the video functions as a tutorial. The only issue? Getting to the tutorial, I will have to look at adding it to the front screen. Need to figure out if my admin panel allows it.
While she is playing with her phone, I navigate to my admina app. Scrolling down the tabs, I open the tap “Developer.”
It took a while, but I found the template for the base phone. Right clicking, I chose “add new app hyperlink.” Inserting my youtube URL and we have easy tutorial access. It does use the webbrowser youtube over the app, which is annoying. The phones don’t come with the app, and I couldn’t figure out how to add it. Nonetheless, we now have one issue fixed.
Turning to Cassie, I see her fiddling with some kind of app. Suddenly, I hear a familiar tune. The Earthen empire's radio; “how interesting.” Taking a more detailed look, I see a radio app exists. Given the distinct lack of Imperial Empire radios, I can see why she picked up Earthen Empires radios.
It is jarring realizing every one starts with unlimited wifi. No restrictions on range, speed, upload; it is incredible. The whole thing runs off an actual “cloud.”
Looking at the internet, I spot a few images that weren’t there before. New additions being easy to spot given the distinct lack of actual content. A few photos of the town, a blacksmith working on an anvil, and even a pet dog – “cute.”
Cassie is slightly less enamored by her phone; taking my chance, I give her an attack hug.
She wiggles, attempting to escape my grasp. “Stop; I am playing on my phone.” She says in a light hearted tone.
“Fine, but I am not moving.” Lying down on her lap while she plays with her phone. I don’t know how long I stayed there, but I was awoken to loud complaints.
“Why are you going black?!” Followed by the sound of hitting. “Did you forget it needs charge,” I murmur out, half asleep.
Looking up, I see her blushing. “I didn’t forget. I was just surprised.”
“The charger needs sunlight; stick it near a window.”
She dislodges me, quickly heading to the nearest window.
She returns to the sofa; “I take it Ender mail is redundant now.”
“Unfortunately, yes.”
“Well, at least this is more convenient.”
“I have missed phones. We now have a world wide web. Or at least the seed of one. If we leave it long enough, we will have one just like Earth.”
She goes wide-eyed. “Can we have video games?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“That is your job; help push video games forward.”
“I will try” Is all I said.
She gets up, walking towards her kitchen, before turning back and looking at me.“Given the flowers and gift, I say you deserve dinner.”
Perking up at her words. “I love that word.”
She just smirks, “ I know.”
She disappears into her kitchen, followed by audible chopping. Half an hour later and a steaming meat broth with vegetables and bread comes through the doors.
Taking a sip, I add a little salt. Taking a second sip, I am far happier. Slowly enjoying the food, this is one of my favorites after all.
I love fish, stews, broths, soups, and meaty meals. I know it is a broad list, but I like what I like.
“You know, no matter how long I live. I will never give up food.” I say to Cassie, finishing off the last sip.
“You can give up food?”
“Well, yeah. I could easily make it, so I never have to eat. Excluding vampirism; as It has its own issues.”
“Is there anything you can't do?”
“I haven’t found a limit yet.”
She shakes her head. “You are immortal; take things slow. Accumulating power and renown might be the worst thing you can do.”
“I am fully aware. Can’t stop the train now.” I sigh.
Taking the plates into the kitchen, I do the washing up. Humming a nameless tune while doing so. Cassie pops in, “ever considered learning an instrument.”
“I have no talent.” I say, having tried so many instruments on earth.
“You could just… work hard. You don’t have to be talented in something to do it. Even if it sounds horrible, you are allowed to play an instrument.”
“That is true, but I want to be good.”
“Then practise.”
I just sigh in defeat. “I will try playing an instrument, happy?”
“Yes.” She says with a smile. Pecking me on my cheek before returning to the front room.
The rest of the time washing the dishes, my thoughts were swirling around the idea of music. “What should I learn to play?”
Before returning to the front room, my instrument of choice is set in stone. Noting to craft a piano at some point. Don’t think it should be any issue to craft one.
It is late afternoon; time is flying by today. Snuggling with Cassie while reading a book. Ideally, I check one of the apps with a big book on it. To my surprise, it has a few titles on it. A big button the on the top left says, “transcribe book.” Clicking it, I realize I can take photos of pages and put whole books on it. Flicking through the few titles already transcribed, I realise I underestimated how quickly some people will figure out phones. Having already gotten skilled enough to transcribe books onto the app.
I don’t know when, but I fell asleep on that sofa. Comfy and warm, Cassie at my side. I must have been pretty tired, it was only late afternoon after all.
Sometimes sleep sneaks up on you.
