Chapter 133: Elven passengers and energy experimentation
I thought it would be an easy task; moving people from one space to another. I was mistaken. Not only did it require organizing on who would go first, but it also required a massive pile of delicate items to be moved.
The machines being the delicate part, along with a variety of botania flowers. Eventually, I managed to get the army of scientific minds through the doors. Taking special attention to ignore the awes are ars about the Tardises internal cavity. I swear my Tardis was getting embarrassed.
With all the scientists in place, for security, I lock them in. “I will allow the 2 scientists studying the Tardis out when we leave.”
Which got a few awe’s, but generally, they complied.
While I had a moment, I visited the rulers. Through the same holographic medium, I meet them.
“Hello.”
“Hello, Aeternum.” The woman says.
“We will be leaving soon.”
“Good, it means so much to us.”
“You guys owe me one.”
“Of course. We try not to owe favors, but in this case, we can make an exception.”
“Mind if I grab some raw materials for my Bontania area before I leave?”
“Feel free; it is the least we can do.”
“Thank you, I hope our next meeting is during less dire circumstances.”
“As do we,” she nods.
Leaving the room, I head outside. Using my quick flight, I gather some basic materials. Woods, saplings, and every other Alfheim exclusive material; stocking up my supply. By the time I returned to the Tardis, it was fully repaired.
Walking into the library, “Cassie, we are about to head home.”
“Got it, thanks for telling me.”
I head to the big room hosting the scientist. “We are leaving; brace your selves. The two who need to; come out!” I shout.
The man and woman step forward, walking with me towards the console.
“You have 5 minutes before we depart; prepare your selves.”
They quickly open up the backpacks on their back, setting up the futuristic equipment with haste. While I wait, I make sure this place is absolutely bookmarked. Mentally noting the dimension number, 76. “Tardis, can I rename the dimensional number to Alfheim?”
“Rename complete!” it responds.
“And off we go.” Clicking the bookmark for home. I initiate the Tardis, setting the speed very high.
With a familiar thrumb, I feel the inertia stutter for a moment. Checking the monitor, I see the space vortex. Cracking my knuckles dramatically, I begin hitting buttons like a madman. Using a bit of hip sway and agility to move to the panels I need. Like a dance, moving between different controls to get us from A to B. Being forced at one point to reduce the speed as we hit some turbulence.
Turning around, the scientist our fervently reading the machines. A floating metallic ball of rings that phases in and out of existence; “must be the gyroscope.”
A delicate lattice of metal wires with visible energy moving through them must be the machine for dimensional distance.

Returning to the console with fervor, spurred on by the sound of a level up. It took considerably longer than the average journey, yet less than an hour. Arriving with an audible thump as the Tardis lands.
Turning to the scientist, I am startled to see crazed looks. “You guys okay?”
The man turns to me, eyes distant and hair frazzled; “ye, yeah, amazing, craft, love, it.”
“I see, okay let's get you guys moving. I will move us outside of my home a little bit.”
Moving the coordinates to the side, I fly for seconds before landing. Opening the doors to the unfettered countryside.
“Welcome to your new home,” I say, watching as the scientists step out. Surprised by the color of the sky, stepping out with careful steps.
Leaving them to get themselves back together, I head to the large room. Seeing normal-looking men and women, I sigh in relief. “We are here; let’s go.”
Slowly, the large wave of academic minds lumbers through the corridors. Stepping out into the green grasslands next to my house.
Once they are all out, I speak to them. “Do you guys having building supplies to build a home?”
A voice shouts out, “a little.”
Sighing, “Want me to make you guys a basic home?”
Unanimous agreement spreads out.
Grabbing stone bricks, Glowstone, and glass, I erect giant stone walls. I create a step-like roof ending in a small glass dome. I cover the floor in Glowstone, placing a pile of chests inside and replacing the floor with wood.
Outside, I plant and bonemeal a massive variety of trees for them to grow. Along with this, I create a field of carrots, wheat, melon, beets, and apple trees.
Within the building, I divide it into 3 areas. A central space with the glass dome was left alone; the outer ring of space was divided in two. One side with tons of bed and the other with storage, furnaces, and general appliances; “this should suffice.”
Approaching the scientists, “this should get you guys started. Food, shelter, and a warm bed; I wish I got given the same.”
Half of them enter the house, the other half begin setting up a positively massive botania area.
I used to consider Botania a slower mod. My opinion changed as I watch 50 people work towards it. With prior resources, late-game items, and high-quality information, it is erected with startling speed.
They set up two mana generating areas first. First, hydrangeas with overgrowth seeds; a tactic I have used. Yet, while I only used a few, they used over 100 hydrangeas.
The second form was an auto tree farm that used mana to bonemeal, cut down, and burn the wood to produce mana. These two combined make a lot of mana.
With this much mana, they needed a way to store it. Creating a wall of mana pools, over 100 all connected with sparks. Over 100 million mana storage and that is just the start. “How many resources are they spending on this…”
Returning to my now empty Tardis, bar Cassie. I take off and land back in my house. Collecting my tower back into its geochest before leaving with Cassie.

“So glad to be home.” She says, stretching her arms.
“Agreed,” I say with a nod. “Lunch?”
“Hell yes!” She says in excitement.
“You are picking up my slang,” I say with a chuckle.
Rolling her eyes before following me inside. As I walk through the door, Chic jumps into my arms. “Hey, how are you?”
“Hungry.” Chic replies.
“Fine, fine, food for three coming up.”
I ended up cooking some omelets for us all. Cassie opting for hers to be stuffed with cheese and chives. I personally used smoked bacon, cheese, shredded chicken, and a dash of white pepper. Chic just wanted a lot of eggs. So I made a giant omelet for them.
Cassie had to leave, work having been neglected. “See you tomorrow, Cassie,” I say.
“That is if my boss doesn’t kill me.” She retorts.
Rolling my eyes, “yeah, yeah, stay safe.” Giving her a brief hug.”
“Will do.”
I spent a short while reading to relax. My mind has been running a hundred miles a minute for a while now. Once I felt sufficiently calmed, I cracked my knuckles. “Let’s do some energy manipulation.”
It is something I’ve been trying to do for days, but something always came up. But, finally, I have some time. No one needing my attention, nothing going on that needs immediate attention; I can finally do my own stuff.
Could have sworn that a few things needed doing, but I’ve forgotten what they are. Well, Average didn’t remind me, so it is partially his fault.
Heading out onto my island and sitting in a comfortable bed of grass, I concentrate inwards. Carefully checking the energy inside me, the black has grown noticeably and the golden slightly too.
“Okay, I can work with this.”
Taking out my mystic branch, I focus on drawing only the white energy; I use the spell for aqua, producing a single block of water.
Okay, let’s use mana this time. Using only mana, I use the same spell. It generates a bolt of water that shoots forward like a block of concrete. Looking at a wet crater in the ground, “okay, a little violent.”
So light energy is gentle and easy to control, mana is potent and violent. Next up, natural energy. The ball of water glowed green, hitting the ground and enriching the earth. Flowers grew where it landed like a bonemeal fertilizer combination. Natural energy must nourish life then; I wonder if it will do the opposite to death?
Now, the unknown energies, which fill me with both excitement and caution. Focusing on the safest appearing energy, the golden energy I draw it through. As the golden water hit the earth, it began to rapidly die before blooming anew. Like a perpetual cycle of life and death, it intrigued me, just looking at it inspiring me.
Now, the riskiest energy, potential energy. The thick black gas slowly moves towards my wand, filling me with a spine-chilling fear. A grey liquid is released from the wooden twig. I expected some kind of acid or corrosion, but I was surprised by what I took place. The green plant life died, a new life growing in its place. A blue stemmed flower with crimson petals blooms into life; “what the hell is that?”
Okay, so in order, the different energies represent Control, force, nurture, cycle, and change; from what I can see. I might be wrong, but this is what I could gather. I am now firmly outside of the mod territory and in the unknown.
Now, let’s do something stupid. Mixing mana and light energy together, it produces a shotgun blast of water that generates source blocks. Making a rather large mess, which annoyed me.
Next, I mixed light with nature, producing an area bonemeal effect. Light and gold created a small amount of golden liquid. Placing something into it, they broke down into what it was made of. So this strange liquid is almost an acid, but closer to a de-atomizer. Why is it scarier than the energy of eldritch gods?
Now, light and potential energy. Crossing my fingers, to my surprise, they mix. What is released as a powerful jet of steam. Scorching the grass underfoot and creating a small wave of destruction. I think I can work with this.
Now, time to do something even dumber. Mixing all the items, which caused the spell to shake and become unstable, I cast aqua. I watch in shock as the energy distorts the air, causing a purple rift to open. Water pours out like a waterfall; it stops soon after, the portal flickering and shuddering.
My hairs standing up on the back of my neck cluing me in, I dive away. Just in time, as the portal explodes with extreme force. I was launched away from the blast site, to my thanks. Looking over at the blast zone, I see a massive area of scorched earth. It would be wise if I didn’t do that again.
Honestly, I expected it to blow up far earlier. But it, in fact, produced something intriguing. I only did it because I am in some god damn good armor. But next time, I will do it offsite. Looking over at my horribly scarred island. “I am going to have to clean that.” I sigh in defeat.
It didn’t take long for me to fix it, just ripping up the earth and replacing it. I was grateful no wires were underfoot. I can’t be bothered to replace them.
Before heading inside, I quickly and covertly check the elves. I see a giant gate to Alfheim. The normal one being 3x3x3; this one is easily 30x30x30. What are they doing? I can only assume it will help stop the dimensional drift.
Heading inside, “I could use a break after exploding.” I say with a laugh.

The Gatekeeper
Quick Synopsis:This is the story of Reylor, a god-like existence who lost a great portion of his strength when accidentally sent from his “home” to another world. Making friends and learning to harness to power of magic, he maintains his commitment to his prior duty and proceeds to fight against corruption, both on a political front and against what is known as the shade.(Note, this story focuses on action and adventure, so politics are not in depth) This has been my first novel, which was primarilly inteded as a learning experience, and so it may be a bit rough in regards, but it should definitely be readable and it is a full story. I may make some adjustments to it later on, but there's no guarantee... anyhow, it's free to read, so give it a go! Also, feel free to check out my new website: aretornovels.wordpress.com
