《The Demon's Gate》Chapter 271: The name of the Demon God.

A myriad of roars arose behind Yao Jun as he stepped forward, Little Gray and the others reverting to their true forms. Their lord had ordered them to kill, so they would help give vent to his sorrow and rage by doing so in the grandest manner they could think of. Yao Jun completely ignored the roars and the carnage that followed them, his narrowed eyes firmly locked on the two opponents awaiting him.
Yuan Shen, the owner of the Element God Gate that Yao Jun had already fought twice before, he was the reason Yao Jun had ended up going into the spatial rift that threw him away from his home planet. Qiao Xian Yi, the owner of the Human God Gate, she seemed to be Yuan Shen's senior while they both worked for the Nine Heavens Soul Empyrean in hunting him down. The Nine Heavens Soul Empyrean said that he no longer had any reason to hunt down Yao Jun, but the enmity between him and these two was already irreparable at that point.
Yuan Shen wore the white robes of the Heaven's Gate sect, which neatly complimented his brown skin, icy-blue hair, and amber eyes. His robes were a little torn by the pillar of ice that Yao Jun conjured, revealing that his chest still bore the scar from the wound that Yao Jun inflicted on him before they fell into the spatial rift.
Qiao Xian Yi. on the other hand, was clad in the somewhat tight-fitting brown robes of the Merged Heaven clan, her once short orange hair now having grown down to her lower back and tied into a neat ponytail. Her black eyes didn't contain the same kind light that they had when he last saw her, they were filled with nothing but malevolence as they looked at him. She didn't have any scars or the like on her body, to the point where her skin looked as clean and smooth as a newborn baby, Yao Jun couldn't help but find it somewhat strange.

Despite the distance between the three of them, Yao Jun was able to see them perfectly thanks to his greatly strengthened eyes, not a single twitch of their muscles escaped him. Both had reached the early stage of the Earthly Deity realm, with Yuan Shen actually almost reaching the middle stage, likely a result of their God Gates and the fact that they had joined two of the strongest organizations in the universe. Yao Jun's eyes remained focused on the two people, who were tensing up slightly as they prepared for the oncoming battle, but he actually spoke up and addressed someone else entirely.
“Arthurius, you're watching right now, aren't you? I'll give you one chance to explain yourself.”
Yao Jun could sense not just the God Gates of Guo Luo and Yun Yantian, but also those of Qiao Xian Yi and Yuan Shen, meaning that none of them knew how to hide the energy that they radiated. This meant that anyone carrying a Supreme Law fragment would be able to sense them, just like Arthurius had first sensed Yao Jun, so Yao Jun refused to believe that Arthurius hadn't been paying attention to this part of the battlefield. And just as he thought, a small black dot appeared behind him, the strong voice of Arthurius leaking out of it.
“I swear on everything that my clan stands for, I had no idea that he was one of yours. Had I known, I would have personally gone over to protect him and the others. I can understand your grief, so as a sign of my goodwill and shame at being unable to save him, I will gladly assist you with whatever you need.”
Yao Jun actually trusted Arthurius' words, not just because of how sincere he sounded, but also due to the fact that no one had ever seen all of Yao Jun's Demonic beasts, especially not in human form. They first made their appearance towards the end of the competition, where he summoned a few of them to protect him while he was wounded. But even then, they were all in their true forms, so no one knew what they looked like in their human forms. Yao Jun didn't waste a second, directly stating his demands to Arthurius, one of the reasons he had called out to him.

“I want you to broadcast a message to everyone on the planet. 'Flee or die'. Once you've done that, I want you to make sure that no Heavenly Deity who can use the law of fire can interfere with me. Oh, and Arthurius, when I said everyone, I meant everyone, not just the people from your clan.”
It was a rather strange and incomprehensible request, causing Arthurius to be somewhat taken aback. Yao Jun could understand his confusion, but he didn't really care about it, he only cared that Arthurius went through with it. After a few moments of silence, the sound of carnage the only thing audible, the somewhat questioning voice of Arthurius rang out from the black dot again.
“I've given my word, so I'll make sure that your requests are fulfilled. But would you mind me asking a question or two? Just who are you? Looking at the Demonic beasts you've brought out, six of them are Divine beasts, one is an incredibly rare hydra, and one uses the elusive law of death, they're all far from normal. There's also your strength, which is at a stage where calling it strange is an understatement. Also, would you mind telling me what you are planning? At least give me something so that I know what I have to prepare my people for.”
There is no way this many Divine Beasts would normally agree to follow one person, even if they carried one or two fragments of the Supreme Law of Demons, the same was true for the hydra. Yao Jun also had a strength that not only outclassed most others of his realm, it allowed him to crush others that were stronger than him, something he proved when he killed Earthly Deities while he was still at the Immortal Rebirth realm. Even if he had a Supreme Law fragment that Arthurius knew was somewhat strange, this was all far too strange.
Yao Jun didn't halt his steps, but his mind drifted slightly as he searched for a response. Normally he would just respond with his name and that would be it, but thinking about how Little Thunder sacrificed himself, his thoughts couldn't help but stop for a bit. Not just Little Thunder, but all the others too, they chose to follow him, to believe in him, to pave a path to the peak for him. He had known this for a while, but only now, when one of them literally died for him, did it truly set him. If he couldn't live up to their expectations and respond to their belief, did he truly deserve them? With these thoughts swirling in his mind, his answer was clear, it had been set in stone ever since the day his power awakened.
“I am Yao Jun, the Demon God, and I am planning a funeral pyre for my first friend.”
