《The Demon's Gate》Chapter 116: Sharing the same fate.

Chapter 116: Sharing the same fate. As Yao Jun took another step closer towards Cui Bao, he also used his mind to activate the first part of Crumbling The Nine Heavens. Cui Bao was at the late stage of the 2nd Mortal Earth, even though his power was not the strongest, he still had a higher cultivation level than Yao Jun. After Yao Jun activated the technique, black Qi poured forth from his body, arcing around his body like black lightning. Part of the black Qi sank into his left arm and covered his broken bone, forcing the broken parts into the proper position. This could not be considered healing the broken bone, all it did was force the broken bone into the right position for a short amount of time. Once he de-activated the technique, the broken parts would separate once more, the wound might even end up worse than it originally was. But now was not the time to worry about that, Yao Jun needed his full strength if he wanted to kill the opponents in front of him. Luckily, Yao Jun had an advantage over Cui Bao and his snow elemental. Another step forward from Yao Jun brought with it the sound of thunder, large peals of purple lightning shooting forth from his body. The lightning not only arced through the air, it also sank into the ground. Snow was not the best conductor for lightning, but the sheer heat from Yao Jun's lightning could cause the snow to melt. Once the snow melted, it would either become water or slush, which would become a much better conductor for the lightning. Seeing the lightning surrounding Yao Jun, both Cui Bao and Cui Dong had ugly expressions. As long as this lightning shot forth from Yao Jun, their snow elemental would not be able to do anything to him, nor would Cui Bao. But they did not have any other choice now, all they could do was attack. Cui Bao gave the order, and he and the snow elemental shot forward. The aura releasing from Yao Jun right now had already reached the late stage of the 2nd Mortal Earth, so there was nothing Cui Dong could do, he would just be a burden. Yao Jun's mouth curled into a smile when he saw Cui Bao and the snow elemental dash towards him. With another step forward, Yao Jun's entire body was submerged into the darkness, vanishing from Cui Bao's vision. “Dong'er! Run!” Cui Bao immediately realized that something was wrong, a horrid sense of unease spreading throughout his body. He suddenly recalled that the reason Yao Jun attacked them was because his little girlfriend had been poisoned by Cui Dong's poison. His face twisted as he turned around and screamed at Cui Dong, wanting him to run away. But by the time he realized that something was wrong, it was already too late. Ba-Shei could only travel through 50 meters of darkness, but since Yao Jun had reached the 2nd Mortal Earth, he could travel through 100 meters of darkness. A single step through the shadows had brought him past Cui Bao and next to Cui Dong. Yao Jun's left arm shot out like lightning, clasping down on Cui Dong's throat. He didn't even bother asking any questions, his Mental Energy gushed forth like a tidal wave, crashing into Cui Dong's mind. Yao Jun did not forget the reason he came here for, he came for the antidote for Guo Luo. “Give me the antidote to the poison used to poison Luo'er.” With his hand still on Cui Dong's throat, Yao Jun calmly spoke to a dazed Cui Dong. When Cui Bao and the snow elemental moved to attack him, Yao Jun simply stepped into the shadows once more, appearing 100 meters away from Cui Bao. Neither Cui Bao or the snow elemental were capable of peering into the shadows that Yao Jun traveled through, so they were completely incapable of finding him. And with arcs of lightning surrounding him, they could not even use their powers to attack him. A dazed Cui Dong moved his right arm, producing a ball of light green liquid in the palm of his hand. The ligh green liquid brought with it a fresh scent of herbs and flowers. Yao Jun grasped the liquid and stepped into the shadows once more, bringing with him Cui Dong into the shadows and leaving him there. This time he appeared next to one of the men that had chosen to help Cui Bao. He stabbed out with his sword, piercing through the man's left lung. With a move of his left arm, Yao Jun forced the liquid down the man's throat and forced him to drink it. Yao Jun dragged the man into the shadows, dodging the attacks of Cui Bao and the snow elemental. After keeping an eye on the man who drank the liquid and not seeing any signs of poison, he breathed a sigh of relief. He threw the man out from the shadows, tossing him to Little Thunder. Yao Jun once more forced Cui Dong to create a portion of the antidote. After having the antidote in his hands, he quickly moved into his gate and fed the antidote to Guo Luo. After seeing the purple marks on her body start receding, he heaved a heavy sigh of relief. With the poison in Guo Luo cured, he could finally relax. Yao Jun stepped out from the gate and back into the shadows. Since he had gotten his antidote, there was no need to drag this out any longer. Once he stepped into the shadows, a single strike of his sword was enough to decapitate a dazed Cui Dong. Yao Jun tossed the head and the body out from the shadows, causing them to land right in front of Cui Bao. Just as Cui Bao was about to scream out in rage, Yao Jun stepped out from the shadows behind Cui Bao. Sending his lightning through the half melted snow on the ground, he sent it into Cui Bao's body. With lightning coursing through his body, Cui Bao could not even move his body as he wished. Since he could not even move his body as he wished, there was no way for Cui Bao to dodge Yao Jun's attack. Another stroke of Yao Jun's sword severed another head, father and son sharing the same fate. This was the advantage that the difference in their power brought about. With Yao Jun using Crumbling The Nine Heavens, his cultivation level was equal to Cui Bao's, so the battle was decided by their powers. Yao Jun's control over lightning completely negated Cui Bao's power, so from the start, his only fate had been death.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.

“Listen closely for this is our oldest tale… In the beginning there was peace and knowledge throughout our land… The creatures of old roamed these lands… Evil had yet to spread through our land… A rift in the very fabric of reality formed… The land burned and melted as the creatures stepped through… As the most advanced civilization… We took the mantle to combat… By the time we were able to gather half the world had already been lain bare… The war covered the once peaceful land in death and destruction… During this time humanity's greatest light arose…” Monologued the old man, red in the face from passionately spewing his praises of a past he had no part of. Written by two authors, this novel covers the tale of a pair of protagonists in a wuxia world. Oh, and maybe an isekai or two. Our goal with this project is to make an engaging and entertaining story, while making a good attempt at a somewhat realistic wuxia setting. We’re aware of the oxymoron…
8 191Words and Emotions of Me
"I write. I am a writer. I am proud of myself for writing."The last months have been a true roller-coaster of emotions for me, and I did the one thing a writer would do in such a situation-I wrote about them. I wrote until my fingers hurt from typing and I wrote until my hands were stained with ink.For me, putting feelings into words has always made me feel better, or helped me understand what I was going through. I believe in the healing and therapeutic power of writing. And so, I wrote poems. Poems that I want to share with the world. This is the collection of the poetry that I wrote so far. The poems that may be written in the future, after the collection is out, will also be uploaded.
