It was a long hiatus, but after months of letting the story simmer, we’re back with a strong outline and one hell of an upcoming arc after we tie things off with the infernals. Thanks so much for your patience. It’ll be worth the wait.
Sanctum was the longest arc I’ve written, which is why it basically became its own book. The plot threads were a bit too long for serial format, but from extensive rereads and edits, I think it flows far better as a complete novel. The tweaks are fairly in-depth, with some dialogue adjusted, foreshadowing added, and a few continuity flubs corrected. If you happen to be a new reader, a long-time follower looking for a refresh, or a visiting reader from Double-Blind, now’s the perfect time to jump (back) in as both books are accessible with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.

If you don’t have Kindle Unlimited, can’t or prefer not to pick the books up on Amazon, no worries. There’s an in-depth recap chapter on its way.
You’ll miss some nuance and catharsis, but you should be able to pick the story up from the currently uploaded chapters and still have a cohesive and enjoyable experience.
Monarch will be releasing 3-4 chapters a week on RR, starting next week (August 8th, 2022).
(Side note: Pyrrhic went through a rewrite, and I think this interlude kicks off the connecting arc better. The new and improved version of Pyrrhic I will go up on Monday or Tuesday)

Sprawling maze-like places where you can find special objects that can't be found anywhere else in the world, train to become a great warrior or wizard, and slay dozens of monsters. Drops! Loot! Glory! What more could you want? Dungeons are places of danger and adventure, full of thrills and maybe even romance, where people enter as your normal and everyday person but leave as a hero. Even a child knows what a dungeon is! A dungeon is controlled and ruled over by its Dungeon Core, a mana crystal that's gained sentience, and with it a mind just as twisted as the home that it makes for itself. Dungeon Cores all have very simple wants and needs: to expand and to devour, and to that end, they'll do absolutely everything and anything within their power. Everyone knows that. Sometimes, though? Sometimes the Dungeon Core doesn't know that. Sometimes they wake up all alone, confused and with no clue what they should do, and find themselves quickly becoming the home to a family of badgers and other creatures. The Dungeon Core can be left struggling to figure out their role in the world and how exactly they're supposed to achieve it. They're really doing their best, and you shouldn't judge them for it! The badger thing was a complete mistake but there's just no way they can turn back and fix it so they're just trying to make do, okay?! What would you do in their situation?! Sometimes, when you close your eyes to sleep, you find yourself in a dream. You may not remember the dream, but for those precious moments, or perhaps seemingly years, that is your life. Yuclaus finds himself rocked to sleep while returning home on a public bus. As he falls into a deep slumber, his heart slowing down, he jerks awake. Where he finds himself is a world full of various creatures, races, mysteries, laws of physics, and creations so fantastical, it could only be a dream. Yet with every person he meets, with every encounter, he realizes how lifelike this world is. He starts subconsciously accepting this as his reality, but is that really wise? No matter how you look at it, this world could be nothing but a dream. Disclaimer: There is a profanity warning. If you are worried about swearing in every dialogue, fear not. In order to capture a character's reaction properly, I felt I needed them to swear. As of now there are three uses of profanity. There are also multiple times a swear word is started, but not finished. For example: "bi—".

Still, the two find themselves working together along with Curtis, Camellia's bodyguard to find answers. Answers that have a lot to do with test subject Rose and how she survived despite being unable to survive. And while they manage to catch Rose, she isn't so lenient about giving them answers, risking her own life and theirs to keep her lips sealed. however, finding out that her father may be part of the reason the facility was wrecked in such a manner has her asking more questions than she thought.
