The mug was talking to me....

It followed me.

How? Why?

Where did insanity start and where did normality end?

No, I haven't gone mad! I have to hold on to what I see and hear, make it constitute my reality, no matter how random it will become.

I stepped back and then forward, fidgeting, unable to decide what to do next.

Spinning in circles and kicking up dust was getting me nowhere.

I have to find Captain. I have to warn of betrayal. The cup wants to kill Captain. They probably killed pilot.

They... who are they. Why can I hear them?

God I... this sounds so insane. This is what being Pilot must be like.

I cautiously approached the mug and grabbed it.

"What have you done with Pilot! Confess your hideous crimes!" I shouted at it.

The mug didn't answer me.

"GREETINGS!" I suddenly heard from behind.

I spun around, finding Captain sitting on a chair, which was located on the surface of a frozen lake.

Across from the chair stood an antiquated television set.

"WHY DO YOU INTERRUPT MY SOAPS WITH YOUR SENSELESS RUMMAGING?" Captain asked, focusing a purple gaze towards me. "DID YOU FETCH ME A REFRESHING BEVERAGE?"

With this, Captain flicked a remote at the TV set. The TV creaked and sunk below the ice.

"What? NO! The mug has been compromised! It can no longer be trusted!

It... Wants to kill you!" I blurted out, forcefully. My voice came out all squeaky and unnatural, like I didn't really believe what I was saying. The sinking TV was making me feel uneasy, not helping the overall situation.

"YOU DON'T SAY...." Captain looked at me with slight interest.

"I know! It sounds crazy but it's true! I heard it talk about this being a dream and everything!" I poked the mug.

"WHAT NONSENSE IS ZIS?" Captain twisted a little on the chair, waving an arm at me dismissively, as if shooing a bothersome fly.

"I'm serious!" My inner rage reached a boiling point.

I shook the mug vigorously: "TALK DAMN YOU!!!"

Captain stared at me, looking quite amused with my behavior:

"SUCH TACT IS MOST INAPPROPRIATE!

POOR SNIPPEY, I THINK ZEE RADIATIONS HAVE GONE TO SOMEONE'S HEAD!"

"I'm not insane! G-DAMN IT! You're supposed to be the insane one here!" I pointed at Captain, shouting.

"LISTEN TO ME! THE MUG HAS SINISTER PLANS FOR YOU!"

I kept on pressing my hopeless cause.
