《Dimensional Paradise》Chapter 12 – Flag Finale (2)

Aleen and the woman continued running to the base. Along the way, he learned that you could communicate with the members of your team if you upgrade the AI chip in your brain. It is the method that she was using to receive information about the team’s situation.
Apparently, every competitor in the game receive the implantation of an AI as a free service, but it had functions limited to a universal translator, pseudo health check, and connection to the game information.
It was possible to upgrade the AI chip to get new functions such as a dimensional communicator to literally made calls through dimensions; but the price was, following the words of the woman, very expensive for a normal person.
On the other hand, Aleen finally discovered that he and the woman were speaking a completely different language. According to her, the AI was able to translate their conversations in real-time reading the brain waves transmitted from a chip to the other. The chips were connected to a database containing all the languages known through the dimensions. Aleen thought that it was great stuff, but not so incredible like getting superpowers.
After running for another two minutes, the woman came to a stop again. Then, with a grave expression, she spoke to Aleen.
“The remaining level five in the team were killed. Fortunately, one level five orc died too, but the enemy has three level five remaining.”
“…”
“The human definitively has a teleportation-like skill, though it probably has certain restrictions. Otherwise, he would have taken our flag to his base directly.” The woman continued without waiting for an answer from Aleen. “If my guess is right, the skill is restricted to a certain distance, number of uses and the number of people he can carry with him. Besides, the flag probably has an anti-teleportation enchantment, so he cannot transport it.”

Aleen was unable to understand half of the thing that the woman said, but despite it, he noticed something strange.
“But if he can teleport, why did he not go after the flag from the beginning? Even if he cannot teleport the flag, he could bring someone with him to get it and then return to their base, winning the game easily.”
The woman thought for a moment before answering. “His goal probably was to get the points and coins from our deaths. That skill is very suited for assassinations, so he probably thought of killing the enemy team completely to win the game automatically. Of course, he didn’t expect to fail to kill me after facing me in a three against one.”
Glancing to the direction of the base, the woman hesitated briefly before speaking to Aleen.
“Boy, I think that it’s better if we separate.”
“… What do you mean?” Aleen asked.
“The enemy probably is waiting for us ahead. Our best option is that I go to face them. Once the fight begins, you will take another path and run to the base. The game will end when you bring the flag to our base.”
“… Are you confident about going against them?”
The woman shook her head slightly and looked forward. “I’m not. The fight before left me injured, and I’m not sure about the enemy’s skills. If one of their skills restraints me, then I probably will lose.”
“Then– ”
“But I will be able to endure until you reach to the base. Can you do it?”
Aleen hesitated slightly, but after a few seconds, he put a determined expression.
“Yes, I can.”
“Very well, then let’s go.”
“They are ahead.”
Aleen nodded to the woman’s words.

“You know what to do. Wait until after the fight begins and run to the base. Don’t go too close to the place where we are going to fight. If any of the enemies find where you are, they will try to kill you during the fight.”
“Okay.”
“Then, I’m going.”
The woman accelerated immediately after speaking to Aleen. In a second, she left Aleen’s sight.
After thirty seconds, he heard the battle beginning.
“… I never asked her name.” With a sight, Aleen made his way to the base’s location, an expression of determination on his face.
After leaving Aleen, the woman accelerated quickly towards the enemies’ position.
“Now I think about it, I don’t know the boy’s name.”
Shaking her head, the woman got rid of that thought and concentrated completely in the coming fight.
As she said to Aleen, she was not confident of her odds against the enemy. Though she won the fight before, it was mainly because the enemy wasn’t expecting her combat strength. Now that they were prepared, she was sure that things were going to be harder.
A few seconds later, she finally saw the enemy.
“You are finally here.” The human spoke.
The woman looked around to confirm the enemies. Besides the human, the other two enemies were one orc that fought against her before and another female orc.
“There isn’t a reason to leave the flag behind.” The man frowned after examining the ice-cold woman. Then, he spoke to the two orcs. “My disciple probably was unable to kill the boy so she left the flag with him. She probably plans to fight us while the boy brings the flag. It complicates things.”
“What do you mean, human!?” The male orc growled.
“The boy is probably going to bring the flag to their base while we are fighting. It means that we have to kill her fast or we are going to lose.”
“One can go after human.” The female orc said.
“No.” The man said. “Two of us are unable to fight against her. If we go after the boy, she will kill the ones behind and go after the other after. Our only option is to kill her before the boy reaches the base.”
Looking at the ice-cold woman’s expressionless face, the man grabbed his shortsword firmly.
“Can I ask your name, beautiful woman?”
The woman kept silent after hearing the question. When the man thought that she wasn’t going to speak, she opened her mouth.
“My name is D’Vina. But you don’t need to tell me yours.”
With these words, the woman accelerated towards the enemies.

Crimson Pervert
Markus gets - quite literally - thrown into an RPG Fantasy world. Casually gaining game-breakingly great power is the very first thing of course, but afterwards travelling the world, building a harem and having plain fun is on the agenda. Note: No room to hide the fact that this is heavily inspired by the "Death March" web novel. I will give it my own touch by not having a Japanese-ish main character (Japan is cool and everything, but why have a harem if you never ever do something "H" with them?). Everything (characters, story, etc) is basically my creation, but I consider it a re-think of the original, so I can neither call it an "Original" nor a "Fan Fic". Don't expect it to be overly innovative. I will add an 18+ warning as soon as something like that happens, the first chapter just has a bit of undramatic blood. Comments welcome.
