《The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core》Chapter 21

“So what is your level?” I asked her.
“I’m still level one. I’m more interested in studying the wildlife than killing it. Even if I did want to level up, I don’t have the time. Whenever anyone finds something weird they bring it to me.” She answered.
“Well you have the time now. We will have to figure out a way for you to gain experience though.” I said with a smile.
“Ummm do I have to? I’m a biologist not a fighter. Besides, what's the use?” She asked me looking slightly scared.
I considered her question seriously. “Well you will get more attribute points. Also have you looked in the shop? I’m not sure if ours are the same but I imagine there are at least a few things you would like to purchase. First you have to get points though. In order to do that you need views and ratings. I’ve found that fighting usually gives me a bunch of views and ratings.” I explained.
She gave me a surprised look and then started nodding as I explained. “You’re right. For the first couple of days I barely got any points. But this morning when I checked my notifications I received a bunch more.”
“What did you spend them on?” I asked. I suspected she had a few dozen points but I hadn’t noticed anything I thought was a purchase.
“I used most of them to buy science equipment. I haven’t spent the ones I got this morning though.” I shook my head and grinned. I should have guessed what she would spend her points on.
“Well I’d suggest you use them on magic spell books since you have such high intelligence and wisdom. I have a couple I can loan you though.” With that said the water and fire spell books dropped into my hands. I passed them over to her. “You should take a break and practice some magic.” I suggested.

For the next hour I watched and tutored the professor. Meanwhile the core half of my consciousness managed the goblins. With so many of them working they quickly completed the goblin nursery and the ninth room. I had them immediately start creating a tenth room.
After a moment of hesitation I also had the goblins continue to expand the goblin area. There were too many for them to all work in a single room at a time. I was either going to have to find something else for them to work on, or start making more side rooms.
Luckily since I purchased the spell books a lot of my mana had been going towards learning magic. Still overnight I had recovered enough mana that I had to spend some of it. I had twenty more goblins along with more foxes, rabbits, and plants. My dungeon now contained a small army of monsters.
By the end of the hour the professor was shooting fireballs around like an expert. I smiled at her. “I think it’s time for a test.” I gestured a hand dramatically and a goblin appeared along with a spear.
The professor screamed and fell down as the goblin charged her. At the last second she threw up a hand and a massive blast of fire engulfed the goblin. It died instantly and its body fell down in a charred heap.
“What the hell was that?” The professor stood up and screamed at me.
“It wasn’t going to actually hurt you. Would you have killed a goblin if you didn’t think it was though?” I asked her seriously.
She seemed to be caught between screaming at me more and breaking down. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around her. “Sorry I didn’t think that all the way through. I thought it would be good if you knew you could defend yourself. Plus I wanted to see if you gained any experience.” I said softly.

Surprisingly the professor relaxed in my arms. “You need to learn how to tell me about stuff before you do it.” She finally said.
“Like watching you take a bath?” I said in a teasing voice.
“If you do that again I’ll kill you.” She said glaring up at me.”
I kept one arm wrapped around her but lifted the other arm up. Then I flexed slightly and my muscles bulged. I still hadn’t gotten used to just how much muscle I now had. “And how exactly do you plan to do that? If you haven’t noticed yet I’m far stronger than you.” I said in the same teasing voice.
She gave me an evil grin. She may be around six feet tall but she had to look up since my orc was at least seven feet tall. “In case you have forgotten you just taught me magic. If you don’t behave I’ll incinerate you.” She lifted her own hand up and flames started flickering along it.
Oddly I found the fact that she had just threatened to burn me alive incredibly hot. Both metaphorically and literally. Although it may not have been as hot if I didn’t know I’d just respawn within a day.
Of course holding the professor in my arms as she put on a captivating display of magic caused what should have been a predictable response. Especially when we had just been talking about how I watched her take a bath this morning. Suddenly my armor was getting really tight.
The professor took a step back with a shocked look. Apparently she had noticed. “Damn. I knew you were tall and muscular but I didn’t realize you were that large also.” She said in a shocked voice as she turned bright red.
I looked down and confirmed that these pants were way too tight right now. It wasn’t that hard to see that I was significantly larger than the average human. I was still getting used to the idea that I was basically superior to the average human male in every way.
I decided that a bit more teasing was in order. “Would you like to go ahead and do that examination now?” I froze in shock when the professor nodded. “Um. Well. I was joking.” I stammered.
She looked up and glared at me slightly. “You got to see me naked. I’d say it’s only fair if I get to do the same.” I wasn’t sure if it was the idea of her wanting to see me naked or the memory of seeing her naked but I was no longer at half-mast.
