《Private Academy System》Chapter 58: Foreign student

As the student’s curiosity was beginning to grow larger with each passing minute, they finally arrived at the school after a while.
Quickly opening the doors once parked, they grabbed their stuff and nearly charged into the building.
Shaking his head slightly, Ensen smiled and took his time to exit the car before following them slowly.
Entering the building, Ensen walked into the cafeteria where all of his students were nearly encircling Flora.
‘This is… weird. Oh, seems like Leah and Brian got here early.’ Ensen thought as he looked over what was happening.
Deciding he should stop it here to properly introduce her later in class, Ensen stepped forward.
“Okay guys, there will be official introductions later for her. Please don’t crowd around her though, it will make her feel overwhelmed.” Ensen said.
Although all of the students had rejected faces on, they complied with Ensen’s plead and slowly backed off, although Anabella stayed next to her.
‘Well, that’s… good. Anabella is usually civil.’ Ensen thought.
As the students split off into two groups and began talking to each other, Ensen headed towards the teacher lounge to wait for Gerhardt to arrive.
Luckily, Ensen’s timing was impeccable as nearly right when he closed the door the tear in space appeared.
After a few seconds, he became conscious and looked at Ensen and greeted him. “Greetings Mr. Principal. Were you waiting for me?”
“I was going to, but I just walked into the room myself. Anyways, I just thought I should let you know that there will be a new student starting today and she is from another world, like you.” Ensen said after pondering for a moment.
He had hoped that Gerhardt would keep an eye on her just to make sure she wouldn’t say anything about being from another world. Although even if she did say so, she would probably just be looked at weirdly for a bit which Ensen would like to avoid. After all, student body unity was an important part of his mind.
As they both began to talk lightly to pass the time, they noticed that time quickly passed and it was soon time for English class.
Heading to the classroom together with Gerhardt, they soon arrived and noticed that Flora was sitting in the front row next to Anabella.
‘That’s an unexpected development.’ Ensen thought as he walked up to the front of the classroom with Gerhardt.

“Good morning everybody, as you probably noticed we have a new student.” Ensen began.
After waiting for the classroom to calm down he continued. “She is a foreign student that will be learning at the Academy for the next two months before returning to her country. I hope everybody will be kind to her and help her if needed.” Ensen said to the class.
“Flora, would you like to address the class? You don’t need to.” Ensen said while bending down slightly to be more level with her eyes.
Nodding hesitantly after thinking for a few seconds, she slowly stood up from her seat and turned around to face the students.
Moving to the side so she would have the spotlight, Flora began to speak softly. “H-hello, I…”
‘Seems like she has stage fright, which isn’t very surprising.’ Ensen shrugged as he walked back up to the front and began speaking to take the attention away from her.
“Anyways, now that the introduction is over let’s move on to English class. Gerhardt, if you will please.” Ensen said before walking towards the door.
With her face bright red in embarrassment, Flora slowly sat back down and faced the front. Turning her head slowly to face Ensen, she smiled in relief at him to thank him.
Holding back his laughter from Flora’s action, Ensen nodded towards her with a smile and walked towards his office.
After the English class had completed, it was time for music class.
Walking into the room, Ensen knew he needed to accelerate Leah’s learning speed if he wanted to complete the first chain mission.
As the lesson started, Ensen kept thinking about how to properly do it in the back of his mind.
Time quickly passed, and the class was approaching its end.
Deciding to rap up his class at this point, he spent the next few minutes doing so.
As everybody had begun to stand up to leave, Ensen said with a calm tone “Could Leah and Stephen stay behind for a minute?”
With everybody looking at the two as if they were both getting in trouble, they looked pitiful as everybody else excited the room.
Leah and Stephen walked up in front of Ensen looking nervous.
Ensen stood there quietly with his thoughts running wild. As various ideas quickly flashed in his mind, he realized something.

‘Why would I need to brainstorm ideas? Leah is passionate about the piano, and although Stephen doesn’t seem to have the same level of passion, he certainly is interested in it.’ Ensen thought as he nearly laughed at himself.
With the two students looking at Ensen weirdly as he was holding back his laughter, he began to speak. “Do you guys remember in the first class when I asked if anybody was interested in the piano?”
Seeing them both nod, Ensen continued “Since you guys were interested, I thought I would offer some more detailed and practical lessons on playing the piano. Of course, the other students could join if they want.”
‘They sure look excited.’ Ensen thought as he looked at Leah’s shining eyes and Stephen’s slight smile.
“However, the class would take place during your break period because I have to drive the others home.” Ensen clarified, hoping that it wouldn’t sway their choice.
‘Oh, well there goes Stephen’s smile, but Leah doesn’t seem deterred by that.’ Ensen noticed as he waited in silence for them to voice their opinion.
Almost instantly, Leah raised her head quickly and said “I’ll do it!”
Nodding at her with a smile, he turned his attention to Stephen who seemed rather conflicted.
“You don’t have to decide now Stephen, take your time if you need,” Ensen said kindly.
He had somewhat expected that some students would be unwilling to give up their break in order to learn more. In fact, Ensen was already satisfied that Leah had agreed so quickly.
“I think I’ll do that, thank you, principal,” Stephen said with an uncertain tone.
“No worries,” Ensen said as he watched Stephen turn around and head towards the door.
As he waited for him to leave the classroom, he asked Leah “Would you like to start today, or do you already have plans?”
With an awkward expression, Leah said “I… uh was going to go talk to Anabella and Flora.”
“That’s alright, you can go do that for today. We’ll start tomorrow, does that sound alright?” Ensen asked, not being bothered by her being busy.
Ensen knew that while the missions the system gave him were crucial for developing his Academy further, he knew that they simply did not compare to his students and their feelings. Even if it didn’t seem like a big deal at this point, he did not want to set a precedence for matters in the future.
With a bright smile on Leah’s face, she quickly said goodbye to Ensen and made her way to the hall to meet up with her friends.
As Ensen was talking back to his office to do some work in his break, his phone began to ring.
Knowing it was Emilia, his former boss calling, Ensen answered the phone calmly.
“Hey Emilia, how is the school?” Ensen asked, not waiting any time.
“Oh, that was fast. It’s been rather peaceful here actually. How has your Academy been?” She asked curiously.
“It’s been great so far. My students have been good, no real issues on that front.” He said.
“Oh yeah? I should come to visit and see if I can change that then.” She said as she laughed evilly.
“You want to come to visit?” Ensen asked, not expecting that.
“Of course I do! You know how curious I can be. I want to be there for the entire day to see if your claim about your students is true.” Emilia said in a teasing voice.
“You do realize you’re a principal too, right?” He said suspiciously.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can take a day off. I deserve it.” She said cheerfully.
“I’m sure you do. Visiting for the day is fine with me honestly. I would ask for your help with teaching just I can’t do that.” Ensen said in a joking manner.
“That’s true, we can’t help the competition.” She retorted.
‘That’s not the reason, actually, you never know. The Ocean science teacher could be an alien, it would explain a lot.’ Ensen thought before letting out a slight laugh.
“What? I’m right. Anyways, when should I visit?” She teased before going into a more casual tone.
“Well any day this week would be fine honestly, so it’s up to you,” Ensen said.
“Hmm okay… then I’ll visit on Thursday. There’s a teacher meeting that day and I do not want to be there!” Emilia declared.

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
